“Difficult to fault”
Reviewed April 2, 2014

Stayed for just a day and a half on the way back to London. Well worth its 5* with excellent and helpful staff. Everything works so well. The decor is superb particularly at Lobby level. Just sit down and look at it - it really is quite something, with great use of natural wood. We were on the top floor (20th) with fantastic views of the Bay. Breakfast could not be better and we enjoyed ours on the terrace. Very big and comfortable beds with lovely linen and a fabulous bathroom with an separate shower and bath. Great that every room has a balcony. "Free" wi-fi didn't stop them charging us for it. Having been away for five weeks and fed up of hotel food, we asked them to recommend a local Italian restaurant. They recommended Perricone on 10th and we just loved it. Great food and lovely staff. American portions of course, so if you're not used to that, beware.

We love Mandarin Hotels and now that they have rectified their stupid practice of charging for internet access in their hotels, there is little to fault. We had a great room, Mandarin gets great linen, large towels and excellent amenities.
Once again high levels of service are the norm and everything works. No resort fees either, so no feeling of being ripped off. Have dinner at La Mar and sit outside and enjoy the night view of Miami. Difficult to beat!

I've stayed at the hotel and it's wonderful but this review is all about La Mar-the Peruvian themed restaurant that just opened this week. I had lunch with 5 colleagues and left extremely impressed. The decore was perfect (light, Miami, classy), the service was outstanding and it's a good thing since we needed help pronouncing most things on the menu with the right accent. We essentially deferred to our server to expose us to the range of dishes and the food in a word was OUTSTANDING. I highly recommend it.

Spacious lovely room; great location, great breakfast. Top notch service. The gym is large, extensive, very clean and welcoming. Overall a little pricey on food and services, but it is higher end and they strive to live up to that! Would definitely stay here again.

If you want to be in an area away from the hustle and bustle of South Beach but only a short ride away, this 5 star property is a great choice. They are located just a 5 minute walk across a causeway from the heart of downtown Miami. The hotel itself is beautiful and the rooms are wonderfully appointed with balconies overlooking water. You will not be disappointed.

1- when we took showers out first day the shampoo and conditioner were used and empty!

2-we asked for two extra pillows our first night. Took three phone calls and an hour

3-the pool attendants never asked us if we needed anything, they never acknowledged us and they never offered us towels, chairs, drinks or anything.

The hotel is not very kid friendly.

The rooms are really nice, but the open bathroom with blinds for separation doesn't work well when one gets up super early to exercise. The light from the bathroom shines right through.

when we requested an upgrade since we were staying to celebrate our anniversary, the front desk said request granted, the room looked standard to us. We asked the bellman and he said this was the basic standard room.

The food prices are ridiculous. We've stayed at many 5 star hotels, this one is not worthy of that status.
