After much researching I decided to book at the Blue Lagoon Hampton for our night before and after a cruise. I look for three things: free transportation to and from the airport, free breakfast, and non smoking plus of course a reasonable price. This Hampton fit all our needs and we weren't disappointed. The airport shuttle wasn't too bad as I've read on other reviews. It is a bit confusing where to catch these shuttles but after asking we found out you just watch for your hotel's shuttle and then wave them down. We waited for a bit and was just about to phone when the shuttle came. The hotel looked very clean and it was nice to have the tea/coffee in the lobby. The rooms were comfy, the breakfast was good but busy and the staff were very friendly and helpful, plus it was close to shopping and restaurants and they even gave us a coupon for a Cuban restaurant close by. The free wifi worked great in the rooms and lobby. We didn't use the pool but my husband used the hot tub which he said was really nice and the area was very clean. It was nice to have a small store in the lobby where you could purchase food/water/toiletries if needed. They didn't gouge you for water either, only $1.00 a bottle which was nice. To get to the cruise port it was only $10 per person and you have to book it at the desk asap. It fills up fast but the company (separate from the hotel) sent another bus for us after the first was filled plus they picked us up again after the cruise. Overall it was a great experience staying there and I would not hesitate to stay again if and when I am in Miami again.

Room Tip: A higher floor has the best view.

Hotel was located close to airport,had a shuttle to the cruise ships and walking distance to shopping center where we were able to find something to eat. Staff very helpful making arrangements to entertainment and the ships and airport. rooms clean and breakfast was fine. would stay again. Only problem that they do not have twin beds .must share a king size bed

Stayed over the night before our cruise out if Miami. We booked a room with a parking option while we were gone. The rate included transport to the cruise terminal for 2.

The hotel was up to the usual Hampton Inn standards.

The beds were really comfortable.

Breakfast was crowded. Food was so so... But they kept it refilled.

It is a good option for a stay the night before a cruise.

We were laying over from an international flight and needed a hotel in Miami for the night.

The hotel is OK. Very Hampton. Clean, large rooms, pretty basic. Pool, decent breakfast my wife says.

They run shuttles every half hour. They didn't tell us that last night just the shuttle was on the way. We must have just missed it the first go around because we waited at the curb for one hour. during that hour we saw the Hilton go by at least 5 times. I called them nine times and got the same story each time.

Can you believe they'd leave two customers standing at the airport for one hour when the hotel is seven minutes away?

Never again! And I learned from customers of other Hamptons, that they waited forever too.

Additionally, no restaurant so by the time we got there it was too late to grab a cab and go out. We were forced to eat some junk food we could buy at the hotel.

This was my last airport Hampton stay, ever. I like the chain for a road hotel but I learned my lesson here.

This hotel is very conveniently located near the airport and the shuttle is a plus. Check in was reasonably quick. I understand the hotel has been renovated but this was not the case with our suite. Our furniture was old and worn. The ceramic tile on the floors was chipped. Our beds creaked and squeaked when we turned over. Bathroom was adequate but very dated and the toilet paper holder fell apart. Flat screen TV's worked fine. Breakfast was good but it was very difficult to find a seat in the dining area. The staff were helpful and courteous.
In summary, I do not see what all the super reviews are about. I have stayed in many Hampton Inns over the last few years and many are better. This is not a bad hotel, by any means, but just does not live up to the hype on Trip Advisor, in my opinion.

Room Tip: Suggest getting a renovated room.

We just stayed here for one single night but it was very good !
We choose an hotel near the airport for our return flight to France.
The Hampton Inn & Suites offers free parking, free coffee, tea or wathever in the lobby and free breakfast in the morning. Free wi-fi ! Nice swimming pool. The employees are very friendly and helpful !
The room and the bathroom are very clean ... and also the hotel ! Nice view from the room to South Miami or from the other side to the airport.
Near to the airport : 10 or 15 min max with the free shuttle which leave the hotel or the airport every 30 minutes. Also near to shops and restaurants.
A very good hotel to stay near the aiport but a little bit far from the Miami Downtown and Miami Beach (a car is needed).

everything about the hotel I rated good/very good, with the exception of the area where it is located. Very difficult to travel around the area for shopping, dining and generally just "taking a walk". Busy tgraffic and dangerous area to even cross the street due to the constant, voluminous number of vehicles. Not a safe area all together!!!
