Very comfortable room with a very convenient pool and fitness area. The room had a high humidity odor to it but the furnishings were great as was the free internet. Compared to the Conrad Miami one block over, this place was easy to get around and the staff very friendly. I particularly enjoyed the Starbucks with the local bakery next door as well as the other local eateries across the street. I'm not crazy about the downtown location but it was a good value.

We stayed at the J.W. Marriott for one night post cruise. We arrived very early and as expected our room was not ready yet. The bell man who met us at our taxi took care of storing our luggage and also brought it up to our room when it was ready. The room had a big plasma tv mounted on the wall in a frame. There was a computer in the room and free internet use. We were on the seventh floor which has a terrace and pool with hot tub and a bar area also right outside of our glass doors.

The bathroom had vanity area and glass doors on the tub enclosure. There was a second telephone which was mounted on the wall beside the toilet.

The gym use was free with bottled water or cranberry juice or fruit provided also.

The front desk staff and the bellman were very professional and polite.

We ate at the casual restaurant for dinner. This was the only downside of our stay. The food was awful. It looked like it had been ordered by someone else and had been sitting around. ie wilted lettuce, cold club sandwich. The food was so bad that we opted to eat at the airport rather than eat breakfast at the hotel again.

Checkout was quick and easy. I would stay here again but venture outside to eat.

There was also a computer near the lobby where you could print your flight boarding pass.

Stayed here early January. room was smelly (because of too much humidity) and windows had drops of water all over them (from condensation). Otherwise a nice room, comfortable (great beds), with free internet access and PC in the room. Restaurant ok. Staff tried to make me pay 2 days of valet parking for one night, but gave up finally.

The good thing about this hotel is location and the views. Also gym is pretty nice.

The bad:
-watch out for concert dates, unless you are part of the fan group, be prepared to weird crowds
-Internet not free
-business center not free
-elevators are either out of service or look and smell like they are 100 years old

-being a platinum member I didn't get an upgrade
-consierge is crowded so getting food/drinks is problematic
-parking is expensive and very tight( you will know what I mean if you bring a car)
-overall quality of service is below average when comes to staff with some exceptions
-cleaning people skipped our room a couple of times

I stayed in above hotel with a friend for 6 nights. Standard International rooms with all standard facilities available. Reception attendant was also very helpful and so were porters. We could not find any major flaw except few.
1. Could not find 24 hour restaurant at JW Marriott!! However room service was 24 hours.
2. Internet connectivity in room thru wired LAN had persistent problem, but staff was efficient enough to come all the time and repair it.
3. Gym was a bad experience as no one was present at gym. Even on calling help button, some one keep on replying that he will be thre in 5 min. Even after calling 5 times in 30 min, no one came. finally has to leave without doing a workout.

Overall, a good place to stay. It is very close to Center of city but far away from Beach.

I booked this for one night prior to departing on Carnival Imagination to Nassau, Bahamas. This was a wonderful experience for us. We arrived @ the hotel as all the transfers and baggage handling where included by private bus. We checking in and I opted to upgrade to the Club Level Lounge for $50. We received a room on the upper level with a great view of the city. The club level lounge offers sodas and mixers all day, several newspapers, A hot and cold appetizer bar with beer and wine, and a hot and cold breakfast in the morning. It was replinished as needed and was a great value. The room had a city view with a huge flat screen TV, Computer with free Wi-Fi, desk, Nirvae Botanical toilitries, a very nice bathroom, comfortable, clean bedding, a mini bar, excercise facilities complete with compimentary cranberry juice and saunas, a rooftop pool and hot tub (the hot tub was inoperable and being repaired on our visit), Very nice lounge chairs by the pool. We opted for the restaurant next door "Gordon Bierscht" and had a wonderful meal with out door cafe seating and live music. It was a wonderful experience. The only problem we encountered is there was only one robe in the room and even tho we asked for another one, it never came.
