“Terrific staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 14, 2013

The hotel was upscale although bar was rather expensive. What made the stay so great was the staff. Diego the bellman went out of his way to answer our questions on polaces to go and see. Eddie at the front desk discussed at length places plus gave us a map showing the routes. Needed extra towels the first night, these were brought up quickly and from that point on we had extra towels every night--good touch.

I was book in this Hoteles for the Eye for Travel 2013, the service is excellent te room was very nice and confortable.
The amenities of the room are very weel and the coffe and water as courtesy is an incredible option when you goes to work, the meetings rooms are very big so is an excellent place to think made some conference or reunion. Coffe breaks excellent.\\

They have to option in the break fast buffet or a Le Cart, both are great however you can request it to your room, of course with 18% for rooms service plus gratitude. Is very near to Coco Walk a little mall two blocks away.

Internet in all the Hotel with a good signal for 9.95 for 24hrs nice option, the rates are high but it worth.

They also have an other propertie in South Beach, if you want to feel pamaper, like an excellet service deffently have to stay here.

Just be aware they will chage $150 dlls as a deposit per day and block your credit card when you leave it as a warranty, so use a card just for the Hotel, because if you request to unblock if this will take 48hrs and they need the deposit in cash.

All the staff very friendly was very nice every time you find some employee of the Hotel they ask how are you? that is very nice, and always have a nice smile even the maids.

Room Tip: Use just one credit card for the hotel because they block all teh credit of your card, request a roo...

Our room was spacious and comfortable. Liked the bathroom layout too. The staff, especially Ignacio the bell men at the front desk was outstanding. He made our stay extra special, also when we inquired about the lot behind the hotel he was helpful. FYI, the lot behind the hotel on Mary is outdoors, but only $15 overnight for their 24hr rate compared to $33 for enclosed garage valet hotel rates. So, if you are in a rental car it is a reasonable choice.
We were delighted with our rate through the wedding group block and appreciate the the discounted price. We had entertained staying at one of the nearby hotels but, given the group rate and family all at the hotel we went with the Ritz and are glad we did.
The outdoor area for the ceremony and ballroom area and room for the reception and dinner was comfortable. The wedding floral and lighting made the ballroom look magical. They also had a great band! Food was delicious but, my fish may have been a bit over cooked.
The morning after breakfast event was also pleasant. The coffee was delicious and food choices good.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Ritz Coconut Grove.
FYI, The pool was pleasant too but not extra special.

Room Tip: If interested in a king bed, ask for the rooms with the larger sofa chair. Noise wasn't a probl...

Ok, to be honest, we got this as a GREAT deal on an auction. However, this was our first visit to a RItz. If we had paid full price, we would have been disapointed ($350-$500 a night off season). We paid around $225 and at that price it was a value.

Zee (front desk) and Nora (restaurant), are superstars! Made us feel like RITZ royalty!

Super clean with a beautiful white marble bathroom with separate shower and soaking tub. Wonderful Asprey Purple Water amenities, and thick, crisp white bedding!

The main areas were beautiful as well. Small pool and workout room open 24 hours. Small lobby bar with a beautiful FIREPLACE, yes FIREPLACE, in Florida! Awesome. They even have a cigar bar.

The view from our third floor room was non-existent (an office building), and the view from the side (bathroom) was of a rusted set of AC water tank (maybe some potted plants would be a nice addition to soften the view).

Front desk made an excellent suggestion for the Peacock Garden Cafe, super outdoor dinner in a garden setting just blocks away.

Room was average 3.5 star room, except it was exceptionally clean and crisp. But, not what I was expecting for our first staty at the Ritz. Having stayed at top properties like the Breakers and the Waldorf NYC, this was a disapointnment. We were expecting grandeur with a Ritz. This property had a grand lobby, staff, and location (no views), but 3.5 to 4-star room, not 5 (our opinion).

The people and the cleanliness are the top. A true 4 start hotel (well above average). We will withhold the 5 starts for the Waldorf and the Breakers...

Room Tip: Get as high a floor (facing S/E) as possible if you want ot see ANY water. A few blocks off the bay.

Stayed one night when we had to have repairs done at our house. The property is lovely but small (it is not a sprawling resort). Service was impeccable - everyone is so friendly and very helpful. If you are from out of town, the hotel is a short walk from the shops and restaurants in the heart of Coconut Grove.
The only drawback is the outrageous parking fees - $33 per night. Save your money - there is ample on-street parking both in front of the hotel and on the side of the property. Cost us a total of $5 for the night!

I have stayed at a Ritz-Carlton in both P.Rico and Cancun, this one did not make as good an impression.
Currently there is a construction site across the street on one side, unfortunately we were put into a room facing this and as it was night, we only found out next morning very early. The backup signals sounded like an alarm clock. Also the glass is apparently not double glazed, so traffic noise is also a nuisance.
Now we had the room on a special offer, but were not told it was due to nearby construction. The following morning when I asked for a room change, which was granted immediately, there was no apology for the noisy night, the lady told me simply that the hotel was not required to inform about the construction, as long as it was not on the actual hotel site. I understand their conundrum, if they inform of construction, clients will book elsewhere.
The common areas are stylish, the lobby etc. Breakfast was good. Beds very comfortable.
At check out when I mentioned my dissatisfaction, this lady immediately offered to credit the first night. This was more like it, and rescued the situation.
I suggest you ask for the side away from the construction for now. This hotel is well located for U of M and Dadeland.

Room Tip: Other side from the main road
