“Stay away! Terrible food and service.”

Save your money and go to Taco Bell if you want bad Mexican food. It was so disappointing. The food lacked flavor and the only advantage to the small portions was less to waste. Green rice was smothered in cheese. Taco wraps flavorless. Guacamole $10 and prepared not fresh at your table. Servers knew very little about the
menu and stopped by only occasionally. Also Jose kept calling us girls (we are in our 40s).
In a shopping center with target. No ambiance.

“Stay awayyyyy!!”
Reviewed August 23, 2013

This place is not Mexican. Food is scarce, bad and expensive. The tacos smell bad and filling is not recognizable. The enchiladas with shrimp where completely covered in sauce and none of the toppings tasted good or of anything for that matter.
We were served water that tasted like it was taken from the Miami river.
We are international travelers from Europe. Save your money and your time and do not go.

“Delicious and original cerviches, guacamoles, tacos and more.....”
Reviewed August 16, 2013

Dinner's tonight was truly a surprise. We didn't know what to expect as we purchased a Dealsaver voucher. We made reservations - the restaurant is busy on the weekend we attended. The drinks were good. Water on the table is labeled filtered and is served in a carafe . The crevice was outstanding. The guacamole was highly recommended as well. We chose a selection of tacos....steak, shrimp, maui maui and beef. Each type was prepared wonderfully - especially the Mahi Mahi. Service was excellent and prices were ok. There is valet parking which is recommended because on street was packed. THere is setting outside and inside and the crowd was young and a bit noisy.

miami spice menu stated 33 per person, when you attend with four people, you are only allowed three main dishes... then as for the sides you can only choice 1 side for all four persons ( which is served in a small plate ) and to be shared by two ... and then only two desserts for 4 person ... ummm doesnt sound per person!?... very expensive to share !! menu is 33 per person ??? unhappy after an hr drive... actually went to pride and joy a few blocks down to feel like i had eaten a meal!!

“Good Food, Small Portions”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

Mercadito Midtown has a great atmosphere and is a place where anyone would enjoy a nice evening out with friends. The decor is a modern rustic theme and has nice murals on the walls. The drinks are wonderful and different from the standard Mexican drinks. We went with a large group of friends for the Miami Spice special, which included a alcoholic beverage with the meal. We ordered the Flautas, tacos, and green rice. My complements to the chef. Everything tasted very good and had great flavor. You could tell that everything was made fresh, nothing processed. The only drawback that we found was that the portions were surprisingly small. Each taco was 3" inches in diameter and there is not much you can place on such a small taco. You got 3 of the small tacos, we also got the green rice which was a very fragrant rice flavored with cilantro and melted cheese on top. This side dish was to be shared for two people. It came in a cast iron dish that was approximately 6"inches around and had no more than 3/4 cup of
rice. It tasted great! Just too small. Basically, everything in Mercadito tasted great, just very, very small portions.
