“Amazing food”
Reviewed May 6, 2014

All of the dishes were excellent as was the service. My only complaint is the VERY loud music! If you want to have a conversation during dinner, be prepared to shout at the person next to you & forget about conversing with anyone across from you.

“Very Hot”
Reviewed May 5, 2014

Zuma is one of the hootest spot in town to see and to be seen. Hosted inside at the Epic hotel is certainly one of the Best and most expensive japanese restaurant in town.
Food is very good (at the Zuma standard worldwide) but the location is really noisy and not one of the best is term of atmosphere/decor.
To me is a good place for a dinner with friends...not for a cosy/special date

This review is just for brunch, but what a brunch it was! I think I said wow after every bite of everything we had. It was a huge selection of sushi and asian food. There must be 60 plus items to choose from, so picture perfect and delicious. Included in this fab buffet is choice of unlimited champagne, cocktails, and hot and cold sake. You also have a personal wild mushroom hot pot brought to your table that was so good. Then you have the entree of your choice. We chose the filets that were grilled to perfection and seasoned beautifully. For desert was a perfect array of bite size sweets and sorbets to cleanse the palate. Service was awesome, food and presentation out of this world! Must try!

“Our new best restaurant in Miami (and most other places as well)”
Reviewed April 28, 2014

This restaurant came highly recommended by our good friends who know all foodie places in the city. We invited another couple to come with us though they had been there once before. The restaurant is located in The Epic hotel in downtown Miami and was not easy to find especially with a 10K run that happened to be held that day in the city. Perhaps that's why we were able to make a reservation just 3 days before our visit. When we arrived our table was ready and restaurant looked half empty which we found surprising. That did not last long, within 30 minutes of our arrival the place was fully booked and buzzing with happy chatter.
Our waiter suggested that rather than each of us selecting an appetizer and main dish or a bunch of sushi rolls we go with their tasting menu. Once he was able to accommodate our preferences and substitute meat dishes with fish specialties the feast began. All items came split into 4 sufficient portions that all of us had a chance to try everything. One item was better than next. We raved about the taste, the presentation, the special touches to every dish. I even commented that it was amazing that from 12 items we tried, ALL were excellent and I'd have a hard time deciding which ones to order next time. The desert platter topped the evening. We could not stop eating. Amazingly enough, we did not feel that we overate as most of the dishes until the desert had hardly any carbs. Even the sushi items kept the rice to a minimum.
Yes, this place is pricey. Depending on the drinks or wine you order, this will run you over $160/pp (incl. tax and tip) easy but this place will not make you feel that you did not get your money's worth. We will definitely make sure we return here next time we are in Miami. I'm recommending this to all my friends.
Tip: We dined inside, but if the weather is nice, I recommend you try the outside seating with very beautiful cityscape views.

“good - - but more about the scene than the food”
Reviewed April 27, 2014

A good sushi restaurant with a nice menu, but the focus here is really on the scene and being seen. Lots and lots of women in impossibly high heels and perfect makeup hanging out around the bar. Very very busy and bustling. Really, really loud.

Service correct, but not overly warm. Clearly the objective is on getting people moving. we enjoyed our assortment of sushi, although the portions were surprisingly small. The robata grilled eggplant was super - - a melt-in-your-mouth confection. Decent wine list.
We really felt rushed, though and so it was not a relaxing dinner. Maybe the option is to go very early, before it gets really busy.

Overall, if I were to return, it would be for drinks and a bite. Not really conducive to lingering.
