Comfortable and convenient. Has secure parking available. Well equipped apartment/suite, but provision of small quantities of tea and coffee would have been appreciated as we were staying only one night and didn't want to have to do any grocery shopping. Plenty of restaurants around, a very good Italian one within walking distance.

This place was bad, but customer service COULD HAVE made everything ok! Came to FL for Miami Carnival. Wasn't looking for the Ritz/Four Seasons, just a safe, clean place to go for the few hours surrendered for sleep! Didn't get safe OR clean... Upon arrival Friday 10/5, I noticed a non-existent outside light to the unit. The entry door was fenced in & pitch black dark after sundown, making it inconvenient (had to walk around another unit to get to ours due to a locked fence), unsafe & not comforting! Not a deal breaker, I was traveling with men... Inside, there were long black hairs everywhere...on the sink, floor & in the shower of BOTH bathrooms! Floors obviously hadn't been swept in AT LEAST a week. Debris left from past renters; clothes tags stuck to the wall, floor & stairs. There was even a used bandaid laying behind a door. There weren't enough towels or washcloths. Listing touts that it sleeps 7, rental manager who was very responsive during the rental process said up to 8. I guess they only expected 4 people to shower, there were only 4 towels & 4 washcloths! I advised the reservation clerk there would be at least 5 & as many as 6 people staying. Walls were stained in the kitchen (with God knows what), refrigerator did not seal properly, the dishes in the cabinets and drawers were all covered in a thick greasy residue, 3 extra trash bags to use for the WHOLE 3BR/2BA house for 4 days. The iron was chipped and sticky so you couldnt use it unless you wanted to damage your clothes AND THERE WERE MOUSE DROPPINGS! The the absolute worst part was the overflowing sewage drain outside...raw sewage spewing out right onto the ground directly into our path to get out of the complex! ALL of this could have been remedied had the customer service been better or even existent! I called several (8-9) times over the first 2 nights regarding these issues (mainly just to get someone to clean the bathroom, but mentioning the other things). Couldn't leave a message at first, finally left one & still waiting on a call back! I even sent an email to the friendly reservations manager I had become familiar with. I advised about all but the drain as it hadn't overflowed until later that night. Again, STILL waiting on a response. On the afternoon of our 2nd day, we happened to spot the person who checked us in walking the grounds & told him our concerns. He reluctantly gave us 3 more towels & 2 washcloths & told us someone would come to clean the bathrooms. NEVER HAPPENED. I called back later to tell him nothing had been done he told me that someone would be there Sunday as everyone was off except him until then...NEVER HAPPENED. Not even an offer to bring us cleaning supplies and a broom for us to do it ourselves! That actually was an option for us since we had to buy our own trash bags, dish sponge and dish soap! The sewage (which we noticed on Sunday morning, wasn't cleaned up until LATE Tuesday morning, but that was the only concern that was addresses and we checked out that day anyway! The rental looked just like the pictures, just not as clean. I could've overlooked most if not all of this had our concerns actually been addressed or at least acknowledged! Felt like they took our money & didn't care to deal with us after that. I most certainly would NOT recommend!!! Don't waste your time and money!!!

Dear Chennel,
Please accept my apologies on behalf of Habitat Residence hotel that our facilities did not meet your expectations.
I was extremely disappointed to learn of your experiences while you were a guest of our hotel, the inconsideration and nature of what you described are unacceptable and certainly not how our team should work. I can assure you that I have personally addressed these shortcomings with the appropriate staff members so that we can avoid a future re-occurrence of this nature.
On behalf of our entire team I would like to apologize again and in an effort to regain your trust in Habitat Residence I would like you to try to consider staying in our main Tower.
Sincerely,

I was a little bit skeptical about Habitat Miami because of some of the reviews. But it met all what we were looking for our stay at Miami, which were basically: Good location, Good Price, Free Parking, Free Wi-Fi, and Kitchen.

Although the neighborhood isn't dangerous, it doesn't look very nice so when we were arriving I was really scared about what to expect since there are some very bad reviews here in Tripadvisor. HOWEVER, the building, the attention, the apartment, were EXCELLENT. We arrived really late (at 3:00 am and the check-in was at 4:00PM), and Javier was great, he explained us how was the check-in process.

We loved the apartment! It was great! The decoration was awesome, very modern and stylish. What I love the most was that the apartment was very clean and organize. It had all the kitchen utensils, and everything that we needed for our stay.

The building is really close to Market Bayside, which has good live Latin music. Hooters and Hard Rock Cafe are there, and also boat tours to the celebrity Island (we didn't do the tour because we don't like that type of tourism). It is also minutes away from Miami Port and South Beach, and other popular tourism attractions. By the way, A CVS is a block away, so you can get anything that you need.

Congratulations to Habitat Residence! I truly recommend it, and I have recommended it already to some of my friends.

While this is not a 4* suite, it was certainly adequate and clean. We had a lovely view overlooking downtown Miami, and the location was excellent if you don't mind walking a couple of blocks there was access to the metro mover (free train that goes all over downtown and to the arena). There is also a Walgreens and a Publix within a block. We were a little nervous when we first arrived and noone answered the buzzer, but finally after about 5-10 minutes I tried again and got an answer. The free parking and wifi were a definite bonus and we got a very good rate considering the location and size of the suite. (we had a one bedroom with 1.5 bath). The full kitchen was great, esp the fridge with ice and water maker in the door. We didnt do any cooking in our room, but it was nice to have lots of space for food and drinks in the fridge. The rooftop area was a nice place to hang out with other friends staying at the hotel in the evening. No pool but we were more interested in hitting the beach anyways. No maid service for the week, there was laundry machines so you could do it if you wanted to yourself. Overall, especially for the price, I would recommend!

This place is a dump. There is trash everywhere, no maid service, and no lobby. When I stayed the garage door was broken and one of the elevators. You get what you pay for..buyer beware.

Thank you for your suggestions.
We are working very hard everyday to offer our customers our best service.
We are sorry for the inconveniences the property might cost you, as you know that property is not located in the main building and we no longer have those properties on inventory.
On that particular day, we had a team checking that building every 30 minutes, and the trash was not left there for more than that.
We again apologize for the inconveniences and hope you can give us the opportunity to have you as a guest once more in the main tower.

Thank you very much and best regards,

habitat miami was a little surprise for us in miami, it really took us by surprise.... you got more from what you are payin' for... the price is more than correct, it has a publix near and a walgreens at a side (from publix) you can get there by walk if you like... the room is amazing! amazing! has a big living room, a very nice kitchen, 2 bathrooms, the bedroom is amazing as well has a very comfortable bed, very nice flat tv, by the way it has many many channels on tv. and a dvd as well, has a washer machine and a dryer, it's a home away from home and all accommodations seems pretty new. has a balcony too. is located in very quiet place, it has a construction at a side, but we never felt a thing or a noise. with a price like that and a place like this, you can't be wrong. many thanx to javier, you were actually right, we loved the apartment. and hope too see you very soon again. congrats!

Room Tip: talk to javier, he's the man...

I stayed 2 nights at this hotel/condo for a leisure trip. This was a nice alternative to a traditional hotel. My boyfriend paid for the stay. We stayed at the 1701 SW 2nd Avenue location in Room 401.

Location

It is very easy to get to/from the Fort Lauderdale airport. It took about 45 minutes in evening rush hour traffic. As for restaurants and shopping, you do need a car to get around, but you can walk to the grocery store (Publix) and a few other places if you don't mind walking a few blocks.

Rooms

This room had 2 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms and a nice living room area with a sofa, 2 chairs and a tv. The master bedroom had a tv and a bathroom inside the bedroom plus a huge walk in closet. The master bedroom was very large and it was easy for 2 people to move around,

There is no desk or computer area to work at if you are using this for business.

The master bathroom was large, had a fair amount of room around the sink area for makeup bags, etc. The lighting was great for putting on makeup.

The hotel was a very quiet hotel. No hallway noise or street noise. I found the bed to be comfortable although it is a platform bed (no box spring) and I was able to regulate the room temperature easily. The hvac was not noisy. The room is well appointed, everything looks relatively new and is very clean.

There is a kitchen with pots, pans, toaster and dishes and utensils. The oven and stove are full size as is the refrigerator.

There is a washer and dryer in the room as well as an ironing board and iron (although the iron was worthless as it had been badly burned by a previous renter.

Check In

We arrived at 2pm and we were able to get our room early. When we arrived, we pulled up into the little circle by the front door and buzzed the office to let us in. We went up to the PH (12th Floor) and picked up our keys and got the garage door opener for our car and our reserved parking space.

Hotel Staff

The staff we spoke with at check in and check out were very nice and everything was easy and there were no issues at all.

Parking

The parking garage under the building with private access and a reserved spot.

Restaurants/Bar/Room Service

No room service, restaurants or bars on the premises,

GPS/Cell Phone/Internet

My gps worked fine getting around the entire area. Cell phone service was perfect everywhere in the hotel. Did not use the hotel wifi.

Overall I enjoyed my stay and would stay here again and recommend it to everyone for future travel.
