Three of us had lunch at Mandolin after it was strongly recommended to us by a local friend. We were in town for Art Basel, so we were shocked that there wasn't a wait. Turns out we just barely beat the rush as there were folks lined up down the street when we left.
& for good reason, the food is fabulous, the park-like outdoor dining area is wonderful, and the staff is friendly & attentive.
We definitely over ordered by a couple of orders of magnitude. We could have taken our leftovers home for dinner & had leftovers for lunch the next day. Not that the portions were huge, but we just saw so much that we wanted to try. Since one of our party had never eaten Turkish food, we used that as an excuse to just keep adding to our order. Everything we ordered was very well prepared, and the white wine by the glass was a perfect crisp pairing with our meal. This is definitely not what I pictured when thinking about dining in Miami Beach, but it was a very pleasant surprise.
