“Lovely Little Motel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2010

We stayed here before a cruise. It's done in Ikea, but done right--modern & clean & cute. This is not the Marriott, and you'll be disappointed if that's what you're looking for, but it is one of the best little family-run hotels we've stayed in. Everything is clean, smells nice and the staff is very attentive. Also, their cruise parking rates and drop off/pickup services are very reasonably priced. The area looks a bit run down (especially if you drive in from off the highway), but seems to be up and coming--we had fabulous food just down the street at a little Argentinian/Italian place (DEVITA'S by Che Sopranos) and stopped off at couple of nice bars for drinks. Had a perfectly good breakfast at the hotel, but wish we'd had a chance to try the diner down the way too. Check out the coupons to local attractions in the lobby as well. Some reviewers seem to think it's scary down there, but there's a police substation across the street and the owners have obviously cultivated a good relationship with the officers--cops pop over to grab coffee from the lobby or use the wifi. We had no problems arriving at midnight, coming back to the room late, or leaving our rental car there for the weekend. All in all, a very pleasant stay.

This hotel is really nice, of course it is not the Hilton but the kindness of the owner worth the trip( they really do anything possible to help you and to improve your stay).
The place is clean with style the area is safe, of course we could see some police car raiding but the hotel is on Biscayne blvd which is one of the biggest blvd of Miami we had the occasion to take a walk by night several time in order to going to the restaurant and it was pretty safe.
the hotel is quite close to Miami beach downtown there are a lot of restaurant and fast food near the hotel and even 2 super market.
honestly we had a great trip and if we have the change to go back to Miami someday we will stay at the New Yorker Hotel.

Was really looking forward to staying here but was very disappointed. The people who own it and are fixing it up are nice but I don't think they're really cut out for running a hotel/motel or have the money to do it up as it needs to be done. It's stylish - but done very cheaply and the cracks are starting to show. It's all a bit Ikea...and in a year's time I think it will look trashed. Pool is nice - which is just as well as we had to wait over an hour to check in as workmen were fixing blinds in our room. The main problem though is the area - there are some nice businesses in the area and it's definitely on the up but it's still a scary place. The first night we stayed, 13 police cars raided the motel across the street. And do not go into the convenience store next door if you value your life. We had the Coppertone room and the entrance is down a dark, dead end off the upstairs walkway - it was nerve racking going back at night. And we really thought seriously about pushing the spare bed in front of the door...so didn't relax enough to sleep well. If the whole street improves then this will be a cool place to stay but at the moment it's just a bit too edgy...

This motel style hotel is first class if you want a nice clean very friendly reasonably price hotel in Miami. Walter the manager is sooooo helpful and genuinely a friendly guy, who nothing is to much trouble for. The hotel also has a small pool. So all in all this was a super place to stay in MIami

Not far from the airport, this is a great little hotel. Recently renovated, it's really clean and everything works.
Special mention to the staff, which is really friendly and helpful.
Decent breakfast (bagels, cereals, coffee, orange juice, ...)
A block away is "Balans", a nice little restaurant, good food, friendly staff...

Located a short drive from the airport this hotel offers excellent value, and great staff!! It's not 5* luxury, but if your looking for clean rooms, and reasonable rates this is the hotel for you! There is a great restaurant only a block away..

I am too lazy to write reviews but I felt compelled to write a review for this cute little motel. As other reviews indicated, we also felt a tad bit cheated with the hotel/motel confusion, especially since we reached late at night and the area seemed a little shady. BUT the rest of the stay more than convinced us that this was a great choice!
Clean rooms, cute decor, comfortable bed, and the free parking, free wifi and free breakfast were great! But the real dealbreaker was the service. Our 'hosts' were very warm, friendly, helpful and genuine people. Not only did they offer prompt and good service, they also gave us a lot of helpful information for sight-seeing, restaurants, etc.
All in all, GREAT value for money, and if I ever go back to Miami, I know where I am going to stay!
