New construction, probably less than five years old. Nice rooms, with microwave and refrigerator. Typical SpringHill decor - nice. A very convenient central location in Miami, although not the best neighborhood. We however felt completely safe in the confines of the property, especially with gated parking.
One big annoyance was the all day fire drill, which included the alarm sounding briefly every few minutes from 9AM to 5PM. We evacuated the building at about 9:30AM through emergency stairs that let us out of the back door so the we have to walk around to the front. Staff seemed a bit apathetic when we returned through the front door. About an hour later, we got a notice slipped under our door telling about the fire drill - about an hour after the event began. The notice is a VERY NICE TOUCH - EXECUTED VERY POORLY.
The clientele are medical staff, recovering patients and accompanying family. Can get a bit noisy with families. Always a buzz of activity in the lobby and common areas. Still, the fire drill and noise did not ruin the beauty and freshness of this Marriott facility.More
