“Small, Friendly, Peaceful”
Reviewed March 15, 2014

We used the Hotel Urbano as our base for a three-day exploratioin of Miami. The hotel is in a residential neighborhood, but a short, free trolley ride from downtown and the MetroMover, also free. Can walk to the amazing Vizcaya museum and gardens, also to small beach just before the causeway to Key Biscayne. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We were happy with our room; didn't knock our socks off, but it was good. Loved there was art everywhere in the hotel (altho not always the art itself), and that it was small and away from the big city feel. Photos on their website represents it well.

We appreciate your taking the time to review your recent stay with us! It sounds like you were able to explore our little neighborhood quite well - isn't Vizcaya stunning!? Our art collection actually rotates on a quarterly basis so perhaps next time you stay there will be some pieces more to your taste!

I was staying here with my daughter because we wanted to know the neighborhood. The location is fine, easy access to everywhere in Miami, very nice and friendly staff. Simple rooms with small bathrooms but good for a short stay.I only had one complaint and that was about the internet. I kept having problems and could never access on my phone and Ipad at the same time. So if you need to work, this is not a good option.

Thanks so much for taking the time to review your stay with us.... I am sorry to hear that you had trouble connecting your devices to the internet - this isn't a typical concern at the hotel.....perhaps it was just glitchy that day. If you're in the area again please send us a note at sales@hotelurbanomiami.com and we'll be happy to assist!

My travel companion arrived at the Hotel Urbano directly after arriving back in Miami from a fun filled cruise. Although we arrived at the hotel earlier than our reservation, the hotel staff immediately assisted us with our luggage and we enjoyed drinks and a yummy lunch in the charming hotel restaurant. We were made to feel very welcome. When out room was ready, the walk through the hallways as a delight. Brilliant splashes of color highlighted the original art displayed throughout the entire hotel. The room was nice, comfortable and very clean. The decor was appealing and the room smelled fresh. We ate the majority of our meal there during our three day stay and kudos to the chef. All our food was great. We also enjoyed the pool and the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. Shout out to Jerrell for making sure this Seattleite made it safely to the trolley in the dark. Shout out to the bar staff for making sure we never went thirsty. We look forward to staying with you again.

We loved Hotel Urbano for its extremely helpful staff, its location away from Miami madness, and its access to Key Biscayne for amazing Crandon Tennis Center and Crandon Park beach! Rooms are pretty tiny, but clean and quite adequate. Nice to be next to the pool area, which was very pleasant. Downsides, as others have said, are the parking fee and no free breakfast. Takes the price up by $50 - $60/day, cancelling out what seems like a really great value.

Thanks so much for your review - we're happy to hear you were able to take advantage of visiting Key Biscayne just across the bridge from us - it's great over there! We're sorry you found our valet parking rates high and hope that will not deter you from visiting us again.

I really like this hotel. My boyfriend and I have been travelling around South Florida and this is the nicest hotel we've stayed in so far and definitely a very reasonable price in comparison to other hotels in Miami.

The location is perfect, it's a short distance from South Beach by car (approx 10 mins), it's next to the bridge to Biscayne, where I saw a lot of people cycling over the bridge from there to get to Biscayne and it is only a 20 min walk from the Mary Brickell area, which has loads of different restaurants, a few bars and plenty of shops, so if you'd like to have a drink in the evening there are places within walking distance. There is also a Publix supermarket there, in the Mary Brickell area, so you can easily stock up on supplies too.

The room is great, it has a fridge, big TV, iron and board, is spacious, great bed, very comfortable with a nice ambiance - very clean too. We had a room facing the road, which was ok (no noise problems at all), but I think it's a lot nicer if you can get a room overlooking the lovely pool. All rooms have sliding patio style doors to a balcony with chairs.

I loved the pool! The pool is really nice and stylish. There are some lovely seating areas to enjoy a drink in the evening too, with an open fire in the middle to warm yourself up with if it gets cool. A great place to chill out, if you've been out and about all day.

There is a bar on the side of the hotel/pool with a happy hour early in the evening.

The staff are all very helpful and nice. The hotel isn't that big and that combined with the staff give it a very cozy, more personal feel.

The whole building is light and airy, with art from different artists (that is for sale) on the walls, which are changed every so often.

The breakfast is very good. Although a small thing is that their orange juice is the concentrate stuff, rather than freshly squeezed (the orange juice in Florida is generally amazing!). Breakfast is not included in the room price though - would be nice if there was the option to have this included (perhaps there is, but we didn't have it?)

They only have valet parking, which costs $24 a day (plus parking tax and normal tax). The service is good, but coming from Europe I think valet parking is a very unnecessary expense. Unfortunately it seems that all hotels in Miami only have valet parking though. Perhaps something the hotel could think about changing this to give them a further edge on the other hotels?

I know there is a trolley bus that goes past the building to take you to South Beach/downtown but the service stops at 8pm. We used the trolley bus in Fort Lauderdale and found it pretty unreliable - didn't use the one in Miami as we had a car, so can't comment on this one.

I would thoroughly recommend staying in this hotel if you are in Miami - you won't get a nicer hotel for the prices they are charging (believe me, I spent a very long time researching hotels in the area, as they are all so expensive in Feb!)

Located in the financial district of Miami. Great location, 5 min drive south of downtown Miami. 15min drive to Southbeach. At foot of bridge going to Key Biscayne. 5min drive north of Coconut Grove & Coral Gables. All easy access to get to. Free trolley goes back & forth, you can catch out front. Excellent surrounding neighborhoods & rather quiet. Hotel grounds & interior very clean. Pool area is great. Nice waterfall & fire pit for night time burning. Full bar accessible from pool area & they offer service poolside. We had a second floor room with balcony overlooking one of the roads. The rooms are well insulated. Room was very comfy & beds were just great. It offered: safe, iron/board, frig, coffee maker & blow dryer.
Staff was very pleasant & helpful. Valet was great & entrance right in front.
Lunch at their restaurant was just ok. There are other places to eat within short walk from hotel. It's a excellent location if you want to be just outside of all the fast-pace & hub bub of surrounding areas. We were very pleased with this hotel & would revisit.

My boyfriend and I had a nice stay at this hotel. It was clean, modern and the staff was friendly and helpful. The manager was nice enough to change our reservation after I realized I was a day off. He saved me a lot of money. The pool and patio was nice, it had a fire place going at night. The only issue we had was bug bites. I left with 11 bug bites on my legs and my boyfriend had 5 or 6 that we did not have when we got there. Pretty sure we did not get those walking around Miami. I would recommend this hotel.
