“Perfect wedding/photoshoot local”

I loved the home and gardens. Save yourself three dollars at the gate and don't purchase the brochure. The information/guide book is nice if you plan to keep it as a souvenir, however there are plaques in each room showing almost the exact same information as the pamphlet for purchase. Anyway, the grounds are stunning. Go in the afternoon to experience the best light in the gardens. Perfect for taking photos around the shrubs, fountains and stonework. My family and I loved it. The place is closed on Tuesdays and the last tickets of the day are sold around 4:30. I would recommend 2-3 hours and you'll have time to see the entire place.

What a fabulous place. No matter what corner you turn, there is beauty everywhere. A definite must see.
The little cafe and gift shop was absolutely charming. Very lovely and caring staff members.

“This place is fascinating and stunningly beautiful”
Reviewed February 9, 2014

Places like this are worthy of the support they get from the admission prices paid by visitors. This is definitely worth a few hours - to see a remarkable "home" and gardens restored to perfection.

“Peaceful beauty”
Reviewed February 5, 2014

If you like European villas and period furniture, Vizcaya is the place for you. This attraction is easily reached by multi methods of public transportation (free trolley and metrorail). Remember to wear you walking shoes though because you'll want to see the gardens. The guidebook for a self guided tour was perfect but if time is a premium get there by 10:30 a.m. and pay a little extra for the guided tour (45 minutes) and then walk out to the gardens or view the second floor on your own. The gift shop has a varied selection of items for purchase and the café's prices are reasonable and the food selections are a definite step above typical attraction prepared food. The quiche of the day was great and the small salad served on top was perfect as a lunch. Allow 2-3 hours so that you can enjoy the gardens to the fullest.
