This is a really big zoo, which is very well maintained.
Entrance is a bit pricey compared to other zoos but there are tons of coupons online.
There are tandem and family bikes for rent and they are very convenient because the zoo is really big.
Every time I happen to visit, the animal seem to be either sleeping or tired so it's hard to see them in action.. maybe because it's always so hot?
They have several animal feeding spots but they are all for an extra charge and usually really crowded.
They have a monorail (also for an extra charge), which saves some time and walking. When they are close to closing time, monorail is free.
Overall, it's a nice zoo but pretty average.

booked tickets online and got a good deal for $23 which included entrance and boat-monorail rides which is good considering the on the gate price is $22.95 plus tax

was a bit of an effort to get here as I was in south beach and zoo is located 22miles away so took nearly 3hours to get there involving 2 buses 1 train and a mile walk to the entrance ( bus goes all the way to entrance on weekends

the Zoo is huge and is splits into continent sections Africa - Asia - Australasia ( exhibit was closed when I went ) etc

took me around 3hours to walk around and stop at the various enclosures to see the vast array of animals

food & drinks are a bit pricy but plenty of free water stations dotted around the park

well worth a visit even if you are relying on public transport its not difficult

We went to Zoo Miami the day before a cruise and there is a lot to see, for the most part the facility was nice and the staff was very helpful. The only problem I had was the enclosre for the chimps and the gorrilas, they almost look the old zoo's that we try to forget

My family and I love Zoo Miami, we are members for several years and we still live to go there. There’s a waterpark for the kiddies for sunny days and many many animals to see. They have other activities in special days like Easter, Halloween, etc. Great place to visit anytime.

Miami Zoo is all about education and conservation. As a former Volunteer and a current annual member I love coming here at least once every two weeks. Everytime I come I see something new, something different, something i've missed. With entertainment for the whole family for alcoholic beverages for adults to face complementary face painting for kids and close encounters with sloths its always fun and educational for people of all types and ages. You don't need to have a troop of children to come here although they would have an awesome time and learn so much. It is possible to do everything in one day however I strongly recommend the annual pass to come back as many times as you want and not be rushed.

I've visited zoos across the USA and Europe and Middle East and have yet to find a zoo that is better than Zoo Miami. It has given me a benchmark to measure all other zoos by. Parking is easy and free and plentiful. The entrance is lush and tropical. Ticket purchase is simple and quick. You can choose to walk the zoo (it is quite large with plans to expand), rent a bicycle (multi-person cycle rickshaw like things possible to ride together), or walk and take the monorail back. There are no metal bars or cages in the zoo which does SO much to connect you to the animals and give them a more natural view. The paddocks try to emulate the environment that would be found in the wild, no concrete floors. I've never seen a zoo that compared.

If you want to learn about animals then this is kinda it. When I say kinda, there are some animals that aren’t in there section just abandon. And food and drink are quite expensive. A burger and drink costed me almost $23 and the burger was small and the drink had mostly ice than the drink and refills is $5. No thanks.

Miami Zoo has a variety of animals. You get to read about them and some you can get to feed. Great great place for the whole family; you can walk around or rent a four wheel bike. Wear comfortable shoes and make it a family day.

Used to live in South Florida and we were members, he not been in over 15 years. We always loved this zoo because of how you can view the animals. No “cages” and many of the enclosures have more than one animal which is nice to see.

The zoo was clean, good food choices, tram option available and family bikes for rental. Highly recommend.
