We went to the restaurant on a Saturday night in November, local friends of us had already reserved in advance what is absolutely recommanded, it was packed! What I liked was that the guests were all nicely dressed, definitely no place for khaki shorts and flip flops! We had to wait a bit at the bar for our table. The waiters were all well trained and quick. The white wine chilled as it should be, The Parmigiano as an appetite opener delicious and original. We had lived for 3 1/2 years in Italy and know quiet well about Italian dishes and I have to say that the quality of what we had that night was excellent.
The whole athmosphere is elegant and special, worth for a special ocasion without a doubt. Be prepared for high prices, you pay for the name and the scenic view of the restaurant.
The restaurant has valet parking what is convenient, 7$.

I took a co-worker here for her birthday at the recommendation at Mr. Botero, the concierge at the Intercontinental Miami. He made the reservations for us and when we arrived they were waiting for us. We sat out on the covered patio overlooking the Bay. The view was breathtaking and there were dolphins playing in the water a few feet from us. The service was top notch and the food was excellent. The risotto was the best I had ever had. The wine was delicious and the deserts are to die for. This is definitely a restaurant you go to if you want to impress someone or have a romantic meal. It's a little pricey but definitely worth a visit. Thanks again Mr. Botero for an excellent recommendation!

Very upscale service, very expensive menu. We arrived on time and seated quickly, no waiting in this busy restaurant. Incredibly polished staff, "white glove" service. Waiter immediately brought a chunk of imported parmesan, drizzle of balsamic, freshly prepared bread basket with a variety of amazing breads, and warm crisp zucchini chips. Large menu, excellent variety. Clams Oreganato and Escargo starters were fantastic. We shared a salad, very good. We also shared the Gorgonzola Gnocchi which is rich and delicious. The veal saltimbocca was plentiful, I couldn't finish it but it was one of the best. The double veal chop pleased my partner greatly. The wine list was expensive but we did find an excellent value California Cabernet, so if you know your wines - you can find the "one" that is the best value under $150. The Zabaglione with strawberries marinated in Gran Marnier was incredible. If you are at a nearby hotel - walk - you will need to work off the calories!!!! The service was POLISHED and TOP-NOTCH and this is one Miami dining establishment that doesn't automatically put a service charge on your bill. They know how to create a wonderful dining experience and earn your tip!!!! One of the most upscale Italian restaurants in Florida. It is not inexpensive at all - so if prices are an issue for you - this is not the place to dine. If you want an amazing dining experience with service, food and a view and are willing to spend $$$$$ - you will not be disappointed at all. We were treated so well from start to finish, waiter staff had a busy night yet they were able to be attentive to every table. POLISHED!

Good starting service, water, light appetizers like in Italy.
The menu is really confused. You cannot simply offer dishes with mushrooms if your are on the sea.
I had a risotto ai frutti di mare as we are at the sea. Rice was over cooked, sea fruits gummy and few, too much spiced to cover the flavour of the few sea fruits. Unfortunately the portion was big.
If managed by Italians I can understand they have to offer what customers expects, but that's not the way to seve real Italian food at such an high cost.

This restaurant was recommended by an LA friend that we trust, and we were not disappointed. The service was amazing from the first moment we arrived. Before we were handed a menu, we were served aged parmigiana reggiano, balsamic vinegar reduction, a beautiful bread basked, fried artichoke slices and bruschetta made from delectable tomatoes. The wine list was a bit pricey, but we knew the evening was off to a special start and we found something wonderful without breaking the bank. My daughter enjoyed the branzino and my son the veal chop special. We all shared our dishes and were amazed at the flavor and quality. It was a lovely October Miami night and we enjoyed the outdoor patio. If we ever return to Miami, we would surely return to Il Gabbiano because it was so special!
