I have spent a lot of time in Mexico Beach. I'm an avid saltwater fisherman and love good seafood. The Fish House has seen a lot of ups and downs over decades, but for the past 5 years or so, it's been up. The menu is not extensive, but is generally good across the board. Service is always good, and servers are friendly and try to cater to your wants. Probably the most outstanding feature of any seafood restaurant is freshness. There are some things on the menu that are popular dishes but not seasonally available and must be frozen. Some types of fish freeze well, and those will still be good on the plate. The Fish House pretty much avoids serving frozen fish that doesn't freeze well, but this might be a question for your server. One way to know you are getting fresh seafood is to order the specials they serve almost every day. You can be pretty sure these will be fresh.
