“Fantastic Inn !!!”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

This was are second time staying at Port d'Hiver, and our stay was just as great!! We have stayed in the Yellow Room and the Windward Suites, both are beautiful and the beds are so comfortable! The breakfast is great and served in a nice setting. The whole property is just amazing, we go to relax and get away and this Inn does the trick, wish we could make it there more often!! Thanks for another enjoyable stay!! Oh and there is a great piano bar within walking distance and a nice market across the street.

This establishment is flawlessly appointed---the room we occupied was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, with a bathroom that was wonderful, double jacuzzi tub, and shower. Staff was very attentive and really interested in the quality of our stay. The layout of the buildings was very comfortable and the heated pool jacuzzi was delightful.. Breakfast was absolutely terrific. Different specials daily for breakfast were varied and delicious..cost of rooms are a little on the expensive side but once you stay there, you know it is worth it. Would return for another stay in a heart beat-- it was a romantic break that my wife and I both needed-- for beach lovers--there is a great beach right across the street..they even supply beach chairs, bikes, pretty much anything you need---they thought of it----- heartily recommend this establishment---they know what there guests are looking for and provide it with with a smile--an absolutely wonderful experience----GREAT PLACE! Try to experience it--

We checked in on New Year's Day for a one night stay (wish we could have stayed longer). The staff was very attentive and provided excellent service. We stayed in the Sunrise room which surpassed our expectations. Lovely wood floors and ceiling - the furniture is quality. Loved the little details including the crystal glasses, ice in wine bucket upon arrival, L'Occitane Bath Amenities (including crystals for bath), the yummy double chocolate brownies after turn down service; great quality linen (minimum 400 TC) and towels (Egyptian cotton robes).

We had breakfast in one of the many little nooks around the beautifully kept property. The entire place is homey and inviting. For those of you Urbanites - keep in mind this is a small beach town and almost everything closes at at 8 or 9PM.

While short - our experience at Port d'Hiver was absolutely lovely - can't wait to make it back!

My husband and I spent 2 nights at Port D'Hiver B and B in Dec 2012. I have to say this was probably one of the nicest Inn's I've ever been fortunate to find! The room was lovely with beautiful furnishings. The bathroom had both a spa tub and separate shower. Luxury linens, crystal glasses. The inn is directly across the street from the ocean. The Inn features a nice breakfast, afternoon wine and fresh baked cookies in the evening. If you are seeking a place to unwind, and re-connect with the person you love, this is the place to go!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Creole Room, which was one of the less expensive rooms on the property and it was l...

I had found this wonderful gem by doing some online research. We were going to Orlando and I wanted a romantic "non touristy" beach town nearby so I could propose to my girlfriend (fiance now). This was the place! The beach is just across the street (which was a little busy) but very easy and close.
From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted and given a tour of the grounds. The grounds are very nice and closed in so that the rest of the world melts away. The spa pool was our favorite part of the inn. It was warm and relaxing and when it was lit up at night, it was the perfect place to relax.
We stayed in Ella Belle's room while we were here. I chose this room on the main house because it was closer to my price range and it had a whirlpool tub. There were only two downsides to that room: the tub was not made for two people and the balcony doors were very tricky. That being said, those were the ONLY complaints about our entire stay. (not even complaints but very slight inconveniences). The bed was AMAZING! We could have slept on it sideways if we wanted because it was so large. It was comfy, like sleeping on a cloud. The pillows were huge and soft and our two night stay was probably the best sleep we have ever had!
Then there is the food... The food was wonderful. I'm a picky eater but I decided to try everything they brought to us and I am very glad I did. When we woke up we just called down to the front desk, they told us what they were serving, we put in our order and delivered it hot and fresh right to our room so we could eat our wonderful meal with a great ocean view. They also offer wine and finger foods in the evening. We aren't much of wine drinkers but they helped us try wines that were sweeter and fit us better. The appetizers were very good and all the things they made were things I had not tried before (again I am glad I did because I would've been missing out). Through the day they have homemade cookies that are fresh and delicious and a coffee machine that makes individual cups so you could have a variety. The night innkeeper, I believe her name is Kay but I could be wrong, was wonderful. We snuck down around nine in the evening to get some coffee and cookies and the only kind of cookies they had were oatmeal raisin (which were delicious but not our favorite). She saw there were no chocolate chip left so she told us she would whip some up and bring them up to our room and offered us a movie to watch in our room while we waited. It took a little bit to get them but they are made from scratch so that wasn't a big deal. When she knocked on our door she had several cookies for each of us and the were fresh, warm and gooey. They were well worth the wait! There is also a binder in the lobby that has a restaurant and things to do guide which were both very helpful.
All in all it was by far the best experience with a hotel I've ever had. I know I have left out a lot of great features but I would stay there again in the future. My fiance and I are planning our honeymoon and we are going to drive to the Florida keys. Port d'Hiver will be a stop along our journey to the keys.

Room Tip: Ella Belle's room has a great view of the ocean and is a cozy size.

My husband and I were celebrating our ten year wedding annivesary and had the pleasure of staying at Port d' Hiver. We could of never chosen a more relaxing and beautiful place to stay, The staff here go out of there way to make you feel special. We stayed in the Havana Room which had a very warm feel to it. The decor was lovely. It was nice coming back to our room in the evening and having the bed turned down, music lightly playing, and the blinds pulled shut. There was a fresh made brownie left on our pillow for us to enjoy. The fountain in the pool made for a great nights sleep. We chose to have breakfast on our porch and wow what a great idea. In addition to a delicious meal they also bring tablecloth, linen napkin and a newspaper. Take advantage of the salt water pool. Upon entering we immediately felt total relaxation. There are several movies, books and games available to check out. We were offered bikes to ride however once we checked in we didn't want to leave this lil paradise. The location was in walking distance to shopping, dining and the beach within a few steps accross the street. We we very pleased with everything about our stay from the moment we checked in until we had to leave. If you are looking for a place to unwind and feel like royalty stay here. You will not be disappointed. We are already looking forward to our next stay.
