“Book for Peace and Tranquility”
Reviewed August 22, 2011

I booked this hotel for my Mom and I after my step dad passed away and I think it was just what we needed, the place felt so private, the beach was practically deserted, we witnessed nesting sea turtles several of the nights we stayed, we loved every minute of it. The new managers were doing a fantastic job, place was clean, they were helpful, great crew at SeaShells. We still talk about how comfy our beds were-those King Coils were simply amazing. My only recommendation would be to change the b-fast up a bit, for folks staying a week like we did, it got a bit boring eating the same fruits, muffins etc. I will be back, thank you Wendel and his wonderful team at Sea Shells

Billie, thank you for being our guests, and hope your mom is doing well. We used to serve fresh cut fruits and cereals and waffles every morning, but unfortunately, we have no restaurant license, and are prohibited by the health department of Brevard County from serving anything that is not individually wrapped, hence, our muffins and fruit cups and yogurts as of late. We give you the best we are able too, as the muffins are gourmet and large, but our scope of complimentary coffee and tea and breakfast snacks are not limited by our imagination or desire, but rather the health department. If it was up to me, I would have a gourmet breakfast buffet every morning. Alas ! Best regards to you and yours.

We were looking for a ocean front motel and luckly we found Seashells Suites Resort. Not only was the staff perfect, the suite incredible and the silence was amazing we also saw 7 sea turtles that night that had come ashore to lay eggs on the darkest stretch of beach that I ever have seen.
We can't wait to go back.

A great find!!

Seashell Suites is immediately on the beach and provides beach toys, boogie boards etc., In our 3 nights we saw only a few locals on the beach. We had beautiful Atlantic beaches totally to our selves. The environment here is acknowledged by NASA as the most corrosive in the US, but the facilities, all of them, rooms, pool, outbuildings, etc. were in a superb state of maintanence. It is obvious that the place is very well cared for.

Service and quality were great at any price, and at this price were amazing.

Our hosts were great and we couldn't have asked for more attention or service. Everything was already taken care of for us and they were tireless in keeping us in fresh towels and food - see below.

We were there for the first launch attempt of STS-134 and when we returned there was a very nice "launch scrub" buffet for our pleasure. Similarly, breakfast buffets are very well done.

The room was nicely appointed with a TV in the master bedroom as well as in the living area. Our kitchenette was nice and fully stocked with everything you will need - except for a dishwasher. I believe that all the rooms at the Seashell Suites are two bedroom suites. Everything was spotlessly clean and sand free - always a challenge at the beach. Air conditioning worked well and was quiet.

Road noise was non-existent and nights were dead silent. The night skies are pitch black and great for star gazing.

Parking spots are nicely sized, but limited. There are only a few extra parking spots. If you have guests be sure to make arrangements. We had guests and parking was no problem.

The other guests we met were a joy and were very friendly. Seashell Suites attracts the kind of folks you want to hang out with around the pool.

Despite the address, the Seashell Suites is 14 miles south of Melbourne Beach proper. The closest grocery and gas is half way between Melbourne Beach and the Seashell Suites. If you need something be sure to take it with you, you do not want to be driving on that stretch of road unless necessary - see below.

As far as the beach, we give location 5 stars, but we give an overall rating for location 4 stars for the following: The 14 miles to Melbourne Beach are two lane highway with only one very short passing zone. The maximum speed limit is 45 - repeat maximum, some stretches are lower - for the entire 14 miles. This entire area, i.e. everything not on the interstate, seems to the the land of "Any speed you can drive I can drive slower. I can drive any speed slower than you." And yes it does happen. Several times we were stuck behind someone going 35mph who did not have the courtesy to pull aside and was either totally unaware that they were holding up traffic or simply didn't care.

Also, we needed to run our for a prescription. Note that CVS pharmacies are very prevalent in this area but the nearest Walgreens is a very long 45 minutes -and yes 35mph away - one way - I say again - one way. If you need a travel prescription filled we suggest you try to use CVS due to the convenience factor.

Overall we couldn't have been more pleased with the Seashell Suites !!

We truly felt like royalty during our stay. I am a very hard person to please and pay extreme attention to detail. Seashell Suites hit a home run. Having a young family my criteria is a little more complex than most. Things like safety, quality, and nature are critical. We strive for the best and have found it.

Thank you Seashell Suites for making my family feel like part of your family.

We had our wedding at Seashell Suites Resort in April 2011. We truly couldn't have asked for a better place to hold the wedding or a better place to accommodate our guests! The resort managers went above and beyond their call of duty making our wedding weekend absolutely perfect!! The grounds are spectacular and the service was outstanding!
Thank you to Sue, Phil and Wendel for making all of our dreams come true!

You couldn't ask for a more beautiful, peaceful, safe, family friendly place to bring your family! The accommodations are fantastic, includes everything you could ever need or want! The saying, "You get what you pay for" is certainly the case at Seashell Suites! We could have stayed at a cheaper place but the owner and the staff at Seashell Suites goes above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. Look no further for your little slice of heaven and stay at Seashell Suites! You won't be sorry you did. We aren't!! It is worth every penny and more!

Seashell Suites seems to have it all. Gorgeous clean warm sandy beach as far as you can see in either direction. If you want a crowded beach, then this isn't for you. You can sit and watch the ocean for hours and sometimes never see any beach walkers. We were there for a month and met some very sociable people. We would sit at the beach overlook in the evening with a wine and just watch the water for dolphins and turtles. We heard of whales but never saw any. When you get tired of that, there's a small but very adequate pool and a sweet sauna. If you want to grill out instead of going in to one of the many restaurants, there are three grills and plenty of tables under the tiki hut. The staff is new, but very good. They're like the shoemakers elves. Everything gets done and you hardly know they're there. The owner is around on occasion and is a pleasure to talk to. He seems able to speak on many subjects. The rooms are clean with no wasted space. The furnishings are tasteful and colorful. There is a seashell theme to the place that just "fits". If you want to ride a bike they're there too. Access is open through the day and gated at night. You are given a gate "clicker" when you get there. There was a wedding planned for the day after we left and the site seemed perfect for a wedding. The bride said that there would be 40 guests and that shouldn't have been a problem. The grounds are perfect. The video and pictures on the site don't do it justice. As nice as it appears, it's better in person. The best part for me was the weather in the 80's with a couple of 90's while I missed out on 3 or 4 8-12 inch snowstorms back home. This place would de-stress anybody. I almost forgot, it's pet friendly too. I'm sure I'm forgetting something. We just got home and I wanted to get this done while it was fresh in my mind.

Room Tip: Rooms are virtually identical.
