when one lives in the holy city of charleston, sc, one becomes exposed to very fine restaurants. when this person compares only average charleston rerstaurants, there is no comparison. dijons is grossly overpriced, especially when the seafood did not taste fresh. non-fresh seafood has that smell and taste that is certainly recognizable-such was the case here.
however the biggest disappointment was the crab cake. it should have been listed as a sausage cake. while we were cautioned about this crab cake, it was nevertheless, a big, expensive disappointment.
our server was very informative, the lettuce wedge was very good; but a celebration evening turned out to be a disappointment. the restaurant had a smell that evening; when questioned, our server said it was "the river". but it was very ironic that a couple of the restroom facilities suddenly had to be closed. we all knew the difference between the smell of pluff mud and raw sewage. i shall not return...
