We live close to this restaurant and have been meaning to try it because our friends have all said that it is great. Well, we were glad we did, 'cause they were right! It is a small (inside and outside seating) family owned place that has only been open about 8 months, but they are already making a name for themselves and developing a following. I am glad, because you can tell that they really care about the quality of the food and the cleanliness of the place. They painted with bright colors and have quiet authentic music playing in the background. We started out with guacamole which was nice and the service was terrific. I tried the chicken with mole sauce and it surpassed anything I was expecting. Their mole has a rich deep texture with just a touch of sweetness to offset the smokey cocoa flavor. They gave me corn tortillas to wrap it in and it was wonderful. So good that my partner kept stealing my sauce to put on his enchilada. Next time he will be ordering the enchilada with mole sauce! He liked his tamale very much and the rice and beans were a nice compliment to the meal. We couldn't resist the homemade flan at the end, which was big enough for two people to split and we savored the creamy texture with the vanilla and cinammon flavors melting in our mouths. The prices are great and they even have mexican brunch on the weekends, Fri -Sun, with eggs benedict and egg burritos, etc. We will come back to try that for sure. I hear the lunch is very popular with the local businesses and the Friday night crowd was great. They even serve beer, wine & sangria.
It is fabulous to see the local businesses flourish and I hope it stays around a long time. From the way it has started I think it will. Good luck to you El Indio! We will tell everyone to stop in for a great meal!
