“Wonderful!!!!!”
Reviewed April 21, 2011

We stayed at this Radisson from April 7th until our check-out on April 11th.

We had one major problem that we were made aware of on our trip down. I do not want to go into detail for the simple fact that the hotel did resolve this issue for me, and it was not the hotel's fault. It was a error done by the reservation company that they deal with. My one complaint about that situation is that everyone at that hotel made me aware that it was not their problem-it was done by the reservation company. It was not MY fault either! At check-in I had to wait to speak with a manager, who took forever, he kept waiting on other people in line. You should try to please everyone- especially people with a problem as big as mine.

On to the good. After careful consideration, and the help of all the reviewers on here, we booked our stay with this hotel. This hotel was the first part of our stay- the second half was Disney. There were 6 of us in our party. My husband, myself, and 4 children aged 15, 9, 4, 2. Upon arriving at the room- it was breathtaking. I didn't notice it to be too dark- as some reviewers had stated. It has floor to ceiling windows. We were on the 3rd floor- we had a perfect view of the ocean from our private balcony. There are some trees and such in front of this hotel- you can see them from our pictures, but it didn't block our view at all. It may if you're on the 2nd floor though- and I don't believe there are any rooms on the 1st floor. All rooms are oceanfront which is a huge plus! We had the bunk bed suite, which i do not think I would get again. Only because the bunk bed it kind of odd- it is thrown into a hallway. Like a last though sort of. The girls didn't want to sleep in the beds because it was too dark for them, no tv (because of where it is.)

There are 3 hotels right here I believe. The Radisson- The Hilton, which is a V-shaped, they do have balcony's but because of the shape it isn't as direct as the Radisson. I honestly can't remember the 3rd one. A double tree maybe. It didn't look like it had balcony's but don't take my word on that, as I can't remember.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone with children. We didn't want the hustle and the bustle of Cocoa Beach- we wanted it to be more laid back, and let everyone relax after a 2 day drive to get to Florida!

The beach was never crowded. The weather was amazing. We saw no jelly fish. We watched an amazing sunrise- then me and my oldest daughter went and picked sea shells for hours. It truly was amazing!

They have a pool and hot tub- and it is amazing at night. It has all different colored lights in it, the kids adored it! It was always nice and warm, never too many people. This hotel also offers pink lemonaid at most times in the lobby free. My girls loved it!

We watched a wedding on one of our nights there. The bride was beautiful, and the hotel looked like they did an amazing job to help the wedding out. It looked perfect!

Oh another thing- I had read some reviewers say to watch out for rocks and then some people commented back that there wasn't any. My husband and kids got banged up pretty bad by the rocks. But, I think it depends what spot you are in. One spot they went to there were no rocks. While the cuts looked bad to me, they didn't even get out of the water they were having so much fun! And they healed perfectly!

One negative was that there was no recognition of being a Club Carlson member :-(

We appreciate you taking the time to review our hotel. Our guest rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows and a balcony that allows guests to enjoy the Atlantic Ocean. While at the beach you might want to enjoy the hotel's on-site cabana, jet ski, surf board and boogie board rentals.
We are pleased that you and your family enjoyed the outdoor pool and deck. We do hope that you enjoyed your Disney trip. Thank you again for your comments and we look forward to seeing you soon.

After many opportunties to stay in other area hotels, we chose the Radisson because of the proximity to FIT where my daughter was thinking of attending. The hotel is beautifully located on the ocean and the views are lovely from all rooms. Unfortunatley we were given a 2nd floor room, even though we were paying full price for our room (from what I understand, many were there on deals). First night, horrible noise on the slider doors - come to find out - sprinkler broken and it hit our room. We let the front desk know the next morning and he said he could not move us but would not operate sprinkler until it was fixed. Next day no issue. Day 3 - sprinkler again at 3 in the morning. Husband calls front desk and they said - sorry. Day 4 - spoke to front desk again and asked please be sure it doesn't happen again. Evening full moon and beautiful weather - air conditioning system was very loud - so we decided to turn off and open sliders. Yup, sprinkler full force - came into room and they use recycled water - well you can imagine the smell. Now I know things do happen but what upset me was the "oh sorry" attitude of the front desk. This room cost us top dollar and the situation caused such angst and lack of sleep - truly worst hotel stay ever. They did give us $50 back - what a joke. You can be sure when friends and family are visiting FIT - we won't be staying there....

You cannot fault the rooms or view as all face the ocean. Restaurant was a bit of a let down but many other great ones nearby. Also lifts are very slow.

Room Tip: Higher the room the better the view

The Radisson Suite Hotel Oceanfront at Melbourne was recommended to us. We checked it out on line, we could see the beautiful balconies and also that it was a place for weddings from the promo pictures (must be a Happy Place!) On our arrival all the staff were so welcoming, check in was smooth and when we walked into our 5th floor wrap around balcony, the views we had through all the sliding glass doors was stunning, it was at this point we noticed that none of the other hotels close by had any balconies - apparently this was due to bad hurricane damage in the past. The staff informed me, that the Radisson Oceanfront did not have to close when others did due to hurricane damage a couple of years back.

I was impressed with the fact the floors were tile, (not somebody elses dirt on the carpet) and the fact that I could stay up and watch TV on a newer slimline TV and my husband the early bird could sleep without being disturbed. We loved the balcony and the spaciousness of the suite, we prepared some our own meals in the kitchenette and were very comfortable 'eating in.' Our suite looked out over the pool and sun deck - we found out later that this is the setting in the photos where weddings take place, what a wonderful setting for such a special occasion. Housekeeping was great, and made sure we had everything we needed from them.

During our stay there was a junior soccer league meeting/games of some kind, most of them had come from far away. All the young people (age about 8-11yrs old) obviously enjoyed their stays and the staff went out of the way to help all the different families that were there - we were impressed, 50+ children could have been a challenge!!

The Pool Tiki Bar was closed for major renovations - which was fine with us, we were there to spend time with friends and family and enjoy the wonderful February sunshine. The restaurant served excellent meals, we never had one we didn't like, lots of fresh fish and salads and fresh fruit. We made it a point to eat breakfast daily in the dining room, the service was excellent at every meal we ate there. The bar downstairs was well stocked, the bartenders were excellent, so that when we had guests in they could have what they wished, including food brought in from the kitchen. One more thing about the bar - we were told we could access the beach directly from the deck outside the bar, that was convenient for us at times.

We have stayed at some of the top hotels around the US and Europe, including the Waldorf Astoria, NY, The Dorchester, London, UK, and others. For a wonderful holiday and good value for our ever shrinking dollar, we would highly recommend to anyone The Radisson Suite Hotel Oceanfront, Melbourne, FL. We are looking to stay there again next winter and have another wonderful vacation.

Room Tip: Sun all day on SE wrap around balconies

We found this hotel last minute after refusing to check into a dump in Cocoa Beach and couldn't be happier we did. The room was nice. Two room suite which, both rooms had access to balcony. Every room in the hotel is ocean front. The hotel is on a clean, uncrowded beach. Nice heated pool too. The best parts were the sound of the waves crashing while lying in bed and the view of the sunrise from the balcony. We booked through Expedia and got a great rate to boot. I'd definitely go back and will recommend to friends. Only negative is that the elevators are slow.

This is definitely a great place to stay if you want to be right on the beach and have a little more room. We got a great rate on the Radisson website, and we had a room on the 5th floor. The room was spacious with a large wet bar area with fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, and a seperate bedroom and living area with pull out sofabed. Every room has a balcony with a great view of the beach and ocean. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The only con I could see was there were not a lot of on site dining options, but plenty of restaurants within driving or even walking distance. The hotel is not too close to the public beach, either, which is nice because the beach is much less crowded. We will definitely be back!

We enjoyed the beautiful oceanfront view from our two room suite with two balconies to enjoy the roar of the ocean, beautiful sunrises and the dolphins out at sea.

We were on the second floor and I would recommend higher up for a better view.

We were given a handicapped room with a bar hand rail next to the toilet that blocked half the bathtub entrance...that was a little inconvenient and i never can understand why they don't save the rooms for someone who needs it.

We ate our breakfast at Panera Bread each morning. Walmart and a supermarket are right across the street within walking distance.

The beach was relatively quiet considering it was spring break for alot of colleges. i found it more of a family atmosphere.

The beach was easy to walk on and had lots of small seashells.

We felt very relaxed and comfortable and safe while staying at this hotel.
