We stayed at this Radisson from April 7th until our check-out on April 11th.
We had one major problem that we were made aware of on our trip down. I do not want to go into detail for the simple fact that the hotel did resolve this issue for me, and it was not the hotel's fault. It was a error done by the reservation company that they deal with. My one complaint about that situation is that everyone at that hotel made me aware that it was not their problem-it was done by the reservation company. It was not MY fault either! At check-in I had to wait to speak with a manager, who took forever, he kept waiting on other people in line. You should try to please everyone- especially people with a problem as big as mine.
On to the good. After careful consideration, and the help of all the reviewers on here, we booked our stay with this hotel. This hotel was the first part of our stay- the second half was Disney. There were 6 of us in our party. My husband, myself, and 4 children aged 15, 9, 4, 2. Upon arriving at the room- it was breathtaking. I didn't notice it to be too dark- as some reviewers had stated. It has floor to ceiling windows. We were on the 3rd floor- we had a perfect view of the ocean from our private balcony. There are some trees and such in front of this hotel- you can see them from our pictures, but it didn't block our view at all. It may if you're on the 2nd floor though- and I don't believe there are any rooms on the 1st floor. All rooms are oceanfront which is a huge plus! We had the bunk bed suite, which i do not think I would get again. Only because the bunk bed it kind of odd- it is thrown into a hallway. Like a last though sort of. The girls didn't want to sleep in the beds because it was too dark for them, no tv (because of where it is.)
There are 3 hotels right here I believe. The Radisson- The Hilton, which is a V-shaped, they do have balcony's but because of the shape it isn't as direct as the Radisson. I honestly can't remember the 3rd one. A double tree maybe. It didn't look like it had balcony's but don't take my word on that, as I can't remember.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone with children. We didn't want the hustle and the bustle of Cocoa Beach- we wanted it to be more laid back, and let everyone relax after a 2 day drive to get to Florida!
The beach was never crowded. The weather was amazing. We saw no jelly fish. We watched an amazing sunrise- then me and my oldest daughter went and picked sea shells for hours. It truly was amazing!
They have a pool and hot tub- and it is amazing at night. It has all different colored lights in it, the kids adored it! It was always nice and warm, never too many people. This hotel also offers pink lemonaid at most times in the lobby free. My girls loved it!
We watched a wedding on one of our nights there. The bride was beautiful, and the hotel looked like they did an amazing job to help the wedding out. It looked perfect!
Oh another thing- I had read some reviewers say to watch out for rocks and then some people commented back that there wasn't any. My husband and kids got banged up pretty bad by the rocks. But, I think it depends what spot you are in. One spot they went to there were no rocks. While the cuts looked bad to me, they didn't even get out of the water they were having so much fun! And they healed perfectly!
One negative was that there was no recognition of being a Club Carlson member :-(
