i've worked in museums and parks, and this one rates five stars for a smaller local zoo. the animals are healthy and active, the staff and volunteers are friendly and informative and the entire park is laid out in a cloverleaf so you _can_ get there from here. very accessible for wheelchairs and strollers. animals you won't see in many zoos, a photographer's heaven.

this visit was thanks to our hotel concierge: we were looking for an activity to take in between hotel checkout and flight out of Orlando - this was a perfect choice. A great little zoo, uncrowded and an interesting variety of animals that you can get quite close too. You can also opt to kayak through waterways that wind through the zoo if you have time.

This zoo continues to expand and open new areas and exhibits. They now have a Tree Top cable system installed that let's you fly above the zoo and take in all the sights and sounds below you. You can also choose to go on a kayak trip throughout the zoo's waterways. Plus a small train ride, a very good outdoor snack bar, and gift shop. A fun place for the whole family.

We visited recently, and this is such a nice little zoo. You can see it in about half a day. The zoo is laid out is a logical, simple manner which makes it easy to see everything. Make sure you take quarters to feed the fish, and deer- they have lots of "gum ball" style feeders that only take coins.
All the staff was so freindly and helpful. We didn't get to ride the paddleboats or the kayaks, but next time we will. The zipline looked like a lot of fun too.
I have visited the Brevard Zoo several times in the last 15 years. They have made a lot of really great changes- like the play area near the entrance. Also the petting zoo was nice. Be sure to feed the Lorikeets, and Cockatiels. There are some birds on display(Macaws) that will talk to you.
The Brevard Zoo is a fun way to spend time while in the Melbourne area!

Went here on a Monday afternoon and spent a few hours looking round and taking lots of photos. I went with my disabled mum and most of the zoo she could get to apart from the section with the free flying birds, I'm not sure why they don't let scooters in this area. The giraffe section is great, being at eye level with them is fantastic.

We had food here as well and thought it was great, it was actually cheaper than many local food outlets as well.

Would be great for kids but I'm glad I went on a day when there weren't to many as the zoo is quite small and lots of kids may spoil viewing of animals.

When visiting here be aware the entrance sign is overgrown and it is easy to miss.
