Tempura, crispy and gentle, excellently fried. Flounder in fish sauce with glazed carrots and brown rice. Friendly staff and quiet relaxed atmosphere.

we went for lunch and it was just okay. we were seated right away and it didnt take long for them to deliver my sushi. they werent so fast with the refils though, i went to the bar for a refil and one point. the food was good, but they didnt do anything fun as far as a show goes which is the idea of sitting at the grill. special occasion place for dinner, lunch was overpriced for what it was.

I love our trips to Makoto's it is a great place for a larger than normal gathering of friends and/or family. The 2 special booths can hold up to 20 people maybe more, but they also have smaller ones for smaller parties as well as tables and bar room for couples or a few. The food is great we have never been disappointed. The cooked carrots are so sweet and the sauce is great poured over anything they serve. If you are small eaters you can get by just by sharing a dinner plate, but we like taking left overs home so we always get our home to have some to take home with us. You will need reservations for anything larger than 4 group probably to ensure a spot. We have recently moved out of state but we had visited many times prior and plan to go again on May 4th, 2013 when we are in state again.

If you take a group of 8 make sure they don't try to squeeze an extra 2 people on to your table. If you like carrots ask for those instead of the other veggie. We all love the carrots. They now ask you if you want the sprouts instead of just serving them because so much was going to waste. I like that.

The food was excellent and well prepared at table - way more than I could eat! Because I'm allergic to mushrooms they substituted a wonderful miso soup instead... that's customer service!
