“Quaint place with an amazing view!”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

The town of Matlacha is like stepping back in time just a little (a very good time!) This Inn is absolutley adorable. You literally are on the water so the views are amazing. You can also fish 6 steps from your from door. The staff was super friendly and even the other quests were a pleasure. It's very clean, kept up well, reasonably priced and much better in person than online. I will be back here over and over again!

Room Tip: room 5 great view ... room 3 even bettter!!!

What a relaxing way to spend a weekend! The Bridgewater Inn reminds me of family vacations in small fishing communities "up north." You can step out your door and wet a line from early morning until late at night, or you can chill out with a good book and a glass of wine. This hotel tends to attract like-minded people and each evening there were other couples hanging out on the deck for cocktails and good conversation. This no frills, clean, friendly hotel will be a steady spot for us. We are Fort Myers residents, but Matlacha makes you feel like you are far away from home. Thanks to the staff who made sure everyone had what they needed!

Room Tip: Rooms with kitchens were handy if you don't want to eat out every meal.

We love this little "Florida Cracker" fishing village. We were just there this month and before we left, we booked for August. Every day you wake up and open your door to see a beautiful of blue-green tropical water that is just waiting to be fished. We feel like home there directly because of the management team, Bob and Diane. They are both nice and always ask if we need anything. It is not a "front". They want to make your stay at the Bridgewater Inn as accomadating as possible. It is more of an experience than a hotel, or a fishing village. All of it, makes Matlacha and the Bridgewater Inn, the best little secret in Florida.

We just returned from a weekend get away at the Bridgewater inn. We are a family of 4. I have an 8 year old who now, thanks to the Bridgewater LOVES fishing! He awoke every morning begging to "go fishing" instead of play video games or watch TV. He caught plenty of fish in his "special spot" even after "the big one" stole his rod n reel. The owners were SOOOO nice and even gave my heart broken son a new rod after "the big one" took his out to sea. It is hard to find a place that not only allows but enjoys children. They made our family feel so welcome and special. We cannot wait to come back...

Room Tip: Make sure you get an Ocean VIew room, ocean access are great but a view is better. I would love to g...

I could not help but to notice that someone from TN wrote a really bad review for the Bridgewater Inn. It sound kind of funny that someone would want their money back because they didn't catch fish. I hate to tell that person, but perhaps they should learn how to saltwater fish. This is not Tn. If it rained would that be the managers fault also?
My review is quite different. We have stayed there on three occasions. We hav e particular room we like and the managers Diane and Bov make sure I get the particular room I want. The staff at the Bridgewater Inn are all very nice and always ask if we need anything. They make you feel welcom. The rooms are always clean. To address the other reviewer about the floors of the inn. Mr. Tn., I don't know if you noticed that your hotel room is on a dock. Obviously with wood under the floor and the water splashing, you may get some uneven boards. The Bridgewater Inn is defintly our little fishing place. I did not find the managers Bob and Diane rude or anything but nice and accomodating. They are always visible and if you need anythig, it would be there within two minutes.

My kids and I surprised my husband with a two night stay in the famous Suite #3 at the Bridgewater Inn. It was the best birthday present we have ever given to anyone. Our family had a blast. The hospitality was outstanding. Our neighbors were even invited to come out and join us for the fun. We caught lots of fish including a rare 62 inch sawfish. The accommodations were perfect for a large family. We are looking forward to staying there again soon.

Right on the water, watch the sun set and watch it rise over the water. Dolphins and manatee are there also for your viewing pleasure. Everything close by, places to eat, artsy shops to brouse, bait shops for your fishing supplies, even nightime entertainment. Well worth the trip.
