“Did not honour the booking”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

We booked for one night and got a confirmation e-mail confirming our booking-We arrived after a long journey plane/ferry /long drive on time only to be told in a very unfriendly way to get lost as we were told we were a day late. On remonstarting offering the e-mail confirmation of our booking we were then offered a very small room with childrens single beds( we booked a large double). Our room it turned out was offered to someone else who wanted a longer booking. It runined our holiday. No compensation was offered Stay clear of this very unhelpful unreliable hosts.

Room Tip: Stay clear of this accomodation there are not in the islands list of tourist accomodation now we kno...

At long last I have time to refute the tissue of malicious lies spun by Dorset, Vermont.
We had expected this person and had a double room prepared. When 10pm approached with no contact regarding late arrival we gave to double room to a honeymoon couple who were staying one night. About 1030pm the phone rang and on picking it up I couldn't grasp what was happening at the other end ,Incoherent shouts of "Turn your lights on so I can see where you are" being the most intelligible part . I asked who was speaking and his wife took the phone. She explained where they were (about a mile from us) and telling her the we were lit up light Blackpool, I directed her to our place.
His satnav had led him astray. On his arrival I expressed surprise at the lateness and no previous explanation. I apologised that the double room was taken but we had a very good twin room also en-suite . He was treated with the utmost civility but began berating and haranguing the native . His wife was delight with the room but not he. He was even offered the room and breakfast at no charge but he was not to be mollified , howling about his laser and lawsuits. My wife then arranged a transfer to a 4 star B&B half a mile away

These people were lovely and made sure that we had everything we needed including a very hearty breakfast with a plateful of fruit, cereals and a full Scottish breakfast (she did something a little different for me due to dietary requirements). The house was spacious, clean and comfortable and the view of the sea and the countryside was beautiful and comforting. The man sat and yarned (chatted) to my other half with lots of stories of Uist and the people which made his holiday. They phoned the hotel where we were going to eat to check we were not too late.
There was a tiny fridge with fresh milk for our tea in the room and the shower was great with plenty hot water. Oh and the pillows were to die for
