“Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh....Don't Let This Secret Out...”
Reviewed February 4, 2013

If you don't know the area, you're likely to drive by a couple times before seeing Pasta and..., tucked away in a typical strip mall. There is NOTHING typical about this extraordinary little italian restaurant, though. The pasta is incredible, the owners/staff genuinely out to make your dining experience warm and friendly. Restaurants like this little gem are special. Go once, and you'll go back...

“I hesitate to write this because I want this restaurant all to myself!”
Reviewed December 28, 2012

I've been in south Florida for 24 years now and have finally found a great, authentic Italian restaurant. Family owned and operated, it's a small unobtrusive space in a strip mall (next to Papa John's, ironically). We had reservations and our table was ready when we arrived. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the rest of our party was late (and ultimately ended up not coming). We were accommodated without an issue.

Our server (son of the owner) explained all the specials and menu to us. Certain items were no longer available. I suspect a certain quantity is made and when they run out, that's it. Dinner comes with homemade bread with butter/garlic (awesome) and a simple salad with only olive oil and vinegar to dress.

My husband had the lasagna al funghi (basically, lasagna with mushrooms, Bolognese and bechamel sauce). I had the bucatini pizaiola (spaghetti with tomato sauce with basil and mozzarella). Both were so delicious. Pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and all of the ingredients were fresh.

The concept of this restaurant is: you choose your pasta and the sauce to accompany. They refuse to serve certain types of pasta with certain types of sauces (probably because they know it won't be good. I trust them).

Sadly we ate so much we had no room for the much-recommended tiramisu.

This was the first of what will become many, many visits. We want to take everyone we know here but don't want to share it so much we can never get a seat!

“Bad Experience”
Reviewed November 10, 2012

Even though they had tables available they didn't want to serve a single person. I think this is fairly inappropriate and rude - and definitely not italian style!

“Tiny place, HUGE flavors!”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

I would not be exaggerating to say that this is like a small, family-run ristorante in Italy.

Chef Luigi is from the Piemonte region and his preparations are authentic and outstanding. No short cuts. Pastas are all made fresh on the premises. You have a choice of pasta and a choice of sauces. The sauces fall into 3 categories: tomato based; cream based; and seafood.

This is NOT a place for meatballs and spaghetti!!

Along with the freshly made pasta, the menu offers the most traditional and specialized sauces from Italian cuisine. Prices might be slightly higher than the usual neighborhood pasta places. But there is no comparison with the quality!!

Entrees include a house salad as well.

You will be treated like an honored guest. The atmosphere is very cozy....only 9 tables. Service is friendly and helpful. Plates are brought to the table steaming hot and freshly prepared....FULL of the flavors of Italy.

Make sure you have a reservation. They turn people away at the door all night.

Last night we enjoyed one of the house specials: Black Fettucine with seafood in a white wine broth at $24. SUPER!!

Now that we've discovered this place, we can't wait to go back.

“Tiny, unobtrusive, delicious!”
Reviewed August 29, 2012

Authentic Italian cuisine. The pasta is all made from scratch, not from a box. You can pair the pasta you want with whatever sauce you choose from the menu. This place is really great. Small, what you see is what you get type of place. The chef is Italian and an ex sailor just like me! Love this place.
