“Cosy and relaxing Home away from home”
Reviewed January 21, 2013

We stayed for over two weeks at this place and had a great and very relaxing holiday here. The place is perfect to unwind on the countryside and yet close to galway. We would like to thank the family O'Neill for the warm welcome and for making us feel at home. We can only recommend to come here!

Reviewed December 30, 2012

Just spent a few late December days with the wonderful O'Neill Holiday Homes, just a 40-minute drive from Shannon Airport and only 20 minutes away from Galway City.

Despite the cold and intermittent gales, the house was warm, very comfortable, with every necessity on hand, a wealth of local information and a welcome basket, which really lifted our spirits.

We managed to take a walk in breathtaking Coole Park with its family-run café, only 15 minutes away. Another walk on the beautiful beaches close by Kinvara gave us views over lovely Galway Bay and, in the distance, the Connemara mountains.

We plan to come back here again and enjoy the upcoming Kinvarra Cuckoo Festival of Irish traditional Music in May, or the Crinniu na m Bad (festival of the hookers and Corachs) in mid August.

This is an ideal base, not far from the fabulous Burren, with a host of lovely pubs and restaurants within a 15-minute drive and Joyce's pub in Ardrahan, a short stroll away. And for you high fashion lovers, a darling boutique, Ail Ruin, in nearby Clarenbridge, one of the best I've come across in the West of Ireland.

We recently stayed a week at one of the O'Neill's houses. A well appointed elegant home, in a lovely setting. The view from the kitchen was beautiful! I loved the chickens that pottered around the house, the horses in the paddock, and the quiet of the place. On the property is a wonderful old ringfort - it was amazing to pause in the solitude of the church ruin. There are plenty of space for walking/running, and the bus to Galway is only a 20 minute walk away. It felt like home away from home!
