We actually got to Kajon House by pure chance on the way to Clonmacnoise. And since it was already late in the evening, we took our chance to stay in the probably best B&B. A warm welcome with fresh made banana bread and a cup of tea was followed by a real Irish breakfast with all goodies next morning.

And if you have a random question: Kate and John will answer it ;)

Thank you very much!

Going down from Sligo we wanted to stay overnight as close to Clonmacnoise as possible. We passed Athlone about 8:30 p.m. and wanted to stay in the first B&B on the way. But time was passing, kilometres adding up and we started to panic and thinking of turning back to Athlone, however still not able to do so. Suddenly we saw a sign "B&B 6km". We cheared up as Clonmacnoise was 7 km ahead. Our good spirit evaporated when we passed Clonmacnoise ruins rising towards darken evening horizon, but still couldn´t see the place to spend the night with a 7-years old kid. Then we saw it - like a fairy tale cottage - and smiling John opened front door. His superactivity wife Kate prepared us coffee, tea and tasty cake with warm hospitality. Beds are very confortable, food delicious and Kate & John gorgeous, not to mention a golden retriewer, apprieciated especially by our kid!!! And as a bonus you can enjoy a wonderful sunset straight from front door. Shame we had only this one night and morning sharing it with those great people. Hopefully see them once again.

The hosts are extremely friendly and make a great breakfast and dinner. Very close to the historical Clonmacnoise historical site. Somewhat expensive. Bathroom water was too cold in the morning.

Kate and John really welcome you warmly into their home. They are consummate hosts and truly have a passion and love for sharing their home with traveling visitors. They cooked us a delicious dinner and a lovely Irish breakfast. A must-stay for those embarking on a trip to the West of Ireland.

We spent one night at Kajon House few days ago and we felt like at home. Rooms are nice and clean, the owners are really kind!!!Breakfast is great and the position of the B&B is really closed to Clonmacnoise and it really worth a visit.

We were so fortunate to end our 12 day vacation in Ireland at the Kajon House. Kate greeted us so warmly, and even cooked up some toasted sandwiches for us so we could watch the Euro 2012. Kate and John make a great team of hosts and made us feel so at home. Kate even packed us off with fresh made scones for the road. The rooms were very comfortable, warm and cozy and the shower was fantastic. We hope to return again.

It's a pitty that we only stayed one night in this beautiful B&B (the best in Ireland...we still love the bed). We had a great time. We loved the scones, the banana bread, the breakfast and esp. Kate, John and the sweet dog :-*
We have never stayed at such a nice place. The countryside is beautiful and the next time WE HAVE TO STAY LONGER!!!!!
