I have been at Kajon House with my family 4 times and it's for sure the Best Irish B&B Experience!!!!
Kate and John are great and the warmest welcome ever! The breakfast is unique and the fresh scones the best in ages. It's a great place to stay if you are travelling between Dublin and Galway and the nearest place to stay if you want to see the unique Clonmacnoise Monastic Site. Kate and John can suggest you more interesting places to see around here ..like Tullamore Dew, Birr Castle etc.. I always use stay at least for 2 nights cause it's one of the few B&B with a dinner menu, perfect salmon, lamb and cake! (...and it's not expensive!). Don't miss it, as i said... Kajon House is like Home! ;)

we (5 people) arrived to the KAJON house around 7PM without any notice and found 2 happy people that became friends to us within minutes. it was a great time being there.
after few minutes we were having tea and coffee. whiskey was served as well.
the breakfast was very good and generous and according to our strange requests.
and after all that - the price was the lowest we found in IRELAND in 10 days.
the house is located less than 5 minutes drive from Clonmacnoise with great view to the river shannon.
no doubt - the best B&B!!!

Room Tip: all rooms are excellent

We stayed there recently and Kate and John were extremely friendly. This was the best breakfast we had in Ireland. We arrived very late in the afternoon and were lucky to get a vacancy but it was no trouble to our hosts. Highly recommend.

The B & B is a wonderful place to stay. The B & B is located very close to Clonmacnoise. There are not many places to stay. We got the tip from the tourist office. Kate and John were excellent hosts and very helpful. The breakfast was very good. We also had a delicious dinner.

A lovely place to stay, Kate and John were very friendly. We stumbled upon this place late one evening as we wanted to stay in the vicinity of Clonmacnoise but there are not a lot options in this area. Rang the bell and kate greeted us as if we were old long lost friends. Apparently John is a excellent cook so it was a shame we missed out on the dinner option.
The next morning we walked from the house to Clonmacnoise abbey which is truly spectacular. While in a beautiful rural setting it is so close to the freeways we got back to Dublin in no time that afternoon. Next time we should bring a "I Amsterdam Cap"
