“Yes, the crunchy french toast is good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 10, 2014

It actually has nuts in it.
The staff, which is part family, also works at Joe's Pizza next door.
So it's a family affair.
Place is nicely decorated for south Florida.
As someone else noted as well, it does get very warm inside, I saw the thermostat, and it was set at 65 degree, and yet still at 75, the place maybe just taking a beating from the sun.
Fans could really help.
Otherwise, food and staff are very good.

“We were told we had to go”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2014

We moved to Florida 10 months ago and are always asking for recommendations for places to go. Doreen's was at the top of a friend's list for breakfast. We finally had a chance to try it on July 8th, and it was outstanding. It is off season, so there was no wait. I love French toast and this was made of challah bread, which made it better than most. My husband had his typical eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast. The great thing was it was all included. He usually has to get something on the side, but not here. The staff is very attentive and very friendly. We would go back again. Lots of choices, fresh, reasonable prices considering the portion sizes and what you get. They even have breakfast nachos so it is not your typical menu. Go hungry. You won't be disappointed.

“You can taste the better ingredients”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2014

Crunchy French toast seems to be a hit on this Island. The best we had was from here. You can just taste the better ingredients. Hash browns better as well. A definite must stop for breakfast while on the island.

“Nice Little Restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2014

By chance, we ended up going there for breakfast & it was so good. The portions are large & the egg & cheese croissant I had was enough for 2.
We also went back for lunch & it was quite good as well.
The staff is friendly & the restaurant has so much charm & atmosphere.

“Is breakfast worth a wait?”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2014

We went to Doreen's on the morning of July 5. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait and it was more like 45 minutes. I am not a huge breakfast fan. In fact, my view is that I've never been to a restaurant for breakfast that is worth a 45 minute wait. My wife and at least one son strongly disagree and they compelled the rest of us to eat there. Two of my kids had waffles which they enjoyed. I had the Eggs Benedict which were ok, nothing special, nothing disappointing.
