“Pretty Good BBQ”
Reviewed December 20, 2013

Porky's has long been one of our favorites and it remains so. Succulent baby back ribs, lip smacking good sauced pork, stunning prime rib combined with a fresh, diverse salad bar that includes a smoked chicken salad to die for make Porky's special. On top of that there is karaoke in the separate bar on Tuesday's, which is fun. I've had BBQ from New York to Florida and to LA. While Porky's isn't the best, it's at the top of those that are nearly the best.

“Sad”
Reviewed December 13, 2013

We have eaten here many times. The last two times we have gone there the food was abysmal.
I ordered the "grouper fingers" basket. The fish was too well done & gave the appearance of Having been cooked before and then re-heated in the fryer. Baked potato tasted like it had been re- heated also. It is obvious as re-heating changes the taste and texture. My husband's prime rib was a very small serving. He asked for a medium well prime but got one that was very rare and the "juice" was blood. He sent it back twice before it came to him medium well. I believe a microwave was used to make it med. well as it was scorching hot- the chef didn't cut another piece from the roast he just "nuked" the bloody one. The server wasn't knowledgable about the items on the menu, and had to go ask some one else. The salad bar has a few more items than usual and was well attended by the kitchen staff. All in all I don't think we will be going back.

“Better choices on Marco”
Reviewed December 4, 2013

We went to Porky's because some friends invited us to join them for their regular after church Sunday lunch.

We decided to get the salad bar and soup selection. The soups of the day on their blackboard said one choice was chili. However, there was no chili. Chicken noodle was not what we wanted. The salad bar was pretty basic and the person replenishing it was in no hurry to refill the mediocre choices. The line was very long, waiting for her to refill the selections.

We were a party of eight and the waitress was rude and the delivery of the orders for the eight of us was over a long period including sass over what was originally ordered and why some received not what they orders. One of the party ordered fried fish and received broiled. He said "I did not order that" and her reply was "that is what you are getting today. Besides it is more healthy." Eventually he received the meal he ordered but after he suggested others eat.She was a stereotype dinner waitress gruff and I think enjoyed her lack of civil service to customers.

I enjoyed the company of folks we do not see very often but I will find another venue for seeing them than getting a very basic salad for two or $22.

I do not know how they can survive when there are so any great places on Marco!
If you want gruff service and a average dinner meal this is the place.

If you want ribs, go to Michelob’s in Naples

“Thanksgiving Dinner-a good choice for us!!”
Reviewed November 29, 2013

Thanksgiving dinners were listed as Turkey OR Prime Rib. We were also allowed to order off the dinner menu. 1/2 of our party ordered off of the Thanksgiving menu, Prime Rib (12 oz $19.99) & the 1/2 ordered off the menu, 1 rack of Baby Back Ribs (available in 1/2, 1 ($17.99) or 1 1/2 racks). It came with 1 side & salad bar. Everything was fresh at the salad bar & there were 3 pasta/potato salads, 2 soups & fresh corn bread. We also ordered Chicken Wings for an appetizers which were pretty good. Our server, Roberto, was excellent. The ribs were fall off the bone & dry enough that you could choose your type of sauce that was available in bottles on the table (Honey!). Although we didn't have turkey, we overheard that they ran out of it by 5:00 PM. The only thing that really disappointed us was that they had a flyer identifying "Thanksgiving Dinners" as Turkey OR Prime Rib. The flyer said "All Thanksgiving Dinners include a slice of Pumpkin Pie". When members of group who had Prime Rib ordered Pumpkin Pie, we were told it was not included with the Prime Rib dinner (despite it saying it was on the flyer). Next year, they should really clarify that the turkey dinner only includes pumpkin pie & be more prepared with having enough turkeys on hand for patrons. A very small slice of pumpkin pie was availale for $3.99. It was mediocre. The restaurant was about 20% full at the most at 5:00. The tip was already on the bill for our party of six & the server let us know this when he presented us with the check. I would consider coming here again for Thanksgiving (or then again, maybe Sand Bar). Ribs were good-but our family's favorite is still Michelbob's (or Monday Night BBQ Rib Night at Snook Inn).
