We recently went back to one of our favorite places on the Island for consistent food. We have been going to Porky's since the early 90's and you could always count on your food tasting good. The service has never been stellar but it is a locals place with good food and good value for money. We were apprehensive when we heard that the restaurant was sold and a new manager was taking over. The new management was quoted as saying they were going to keep everything the same; Porky's has always been busy so why fix something that isn't broke. The menu has changed, the salad bar has changed, the servers (for the most part) have changed, even the drinks available from the bar has changed. Even the staples like chicken for kids has been reduced to soggy chicken nuggets where in the past they were chicken tenders. The soup of the day was chicken noodle but the sign and wait staff insisted it was chicken dumpling. I don't know if this was a mix up or they simply had not checked it. We saw the server a total of three times. She took the drink & dinner order at the same time, then delivered the food & brought the bill without any offer of dessert or coffee.
I hope this is just growing pains & that things will even out. We also heard other guests inquiring about things that were previously on the menu and the server said they would be returning to the menu.
