Description: Tucked away in the northern most point of Old Marco is Cafe de Marco. An intimate bistro/cafe serving the most diverse selection of fresh seafood & other continental specialties since 1983. A favorite amongst locals & seasonal return visitors to Marco Island. Reservations are greatly appreciated. Olde Florida atmosphere in the historic district of Olde Marco. Perfect for an outstanding meal, business, or special occasion. Vast wine selection and beer available. Twilight specials and children's menu available. Owned and operated by same owner & family since starting out in 1983. Our building enjoys a rich piece of Marco history. The Cafe's building was the original quarters for the chamber maids employed by the historic Old Marco Inn just a few yards away. Many years ago the Inn functioned as a "bed & breakfast", and the maids would simply walk to work from our building. This explains the answer to a frequently asked question..."Was this an old house at one time?" Today, step inside to what has been transformed into an islander's tradition for over 30 years. We look forward to serving you soon! ~Sandy Franchino, Owner

“Outstanding! Best restaurant that we found on Marco Island”
Reviewed May 9, 2014

This restaurant has it all- best service, best food, and great ambience. Our waiter was outstanding (I wish I could remember his name!). On top of his impeccable service, the owner/manager made two visits to the table to ensure that everything was to our liking and quickly resolved one small issue with one of our groups meals. The food was nothing short of superb, including a great desert menu (key lime pie was my favorite!). This is the type of experience that one hopes for in an upscale restaurant.

“So glad we came back”
Reviewed April 29, 2014

This was a favorite of ours when we bought our first condo on Marco in 1991. We were regulars and then we moved to Naples and just didn't make the trip back. We recently moved closer and made a visit last night. WHAT WERE WE THINKING about not making the drive. The food was even better than I remembered. The Shrimp Lenny, large shrimp stuffed with crab meat wrapped in bacon then fried to a golden brown with the sauce, was mouthwatering good. You can get them as an appetizer or entree. The potatoes.....how do they do that to a lowly spud? They were so good you wanted to use your finger on the plate to get up the last bit. My husband had the Cobia special and anyone who has had that fish knows the fish alone is outstanding, he had it blackened and said it was one of his top 3 meals this season. Our friend who wasn't feeling well when we arrived had the Fishermans Platter. He said the food was so good that he ate himself well. All in all and wonderful evening. Make your reservations early. Season is offically over here in southwest Florida, but they were PACKED last night.

“Average to below average food, super waiter”
Reviewed April 24, 2014

Super nice waiter and some really great warmed artichoke appetizers. Other than that, I had the salad and it had canned black olives in it. Sad. The pasta puttanesca was nice, but nobody really loved their meals. For the price, you shouldn't just have had fabulous service. Pass.

The place needs some cleaning. Everything was off.

“Great to be back”
Reviewed April 23, 2014 via mobile

This consistently is my favorite restaurant on Marco Island where I visit 2-3 times per year from the Midwest. The food, wait staff (my favorite is Marty) & ambiance are consistently excellent. In addition, they have a wonderful twilight special until 5:45 PM that far exceeds anything similar on Marco Island or nearby Naples. As a regular, you are greeted by all employees and, especially the owner, which makes Cafe de Marco the top restaurant on Marco Island.

“Great food, questionable ambience”
Reviewed April 21, 2014

The Cafe de Marco offers pretty fine dining in what seems to essentially be a shack. It is definitely not cheap - in fact, I would say overpriced even for Marco, but the food is well cooked, fresh and good portions, and the service is good. Unfortunately the next table (they're very close) had one of those loud opinionated people who made frankly offensive comments. Not the restaurant's fault, but spoiled the meal. Ho hum.
