Description: Tucked away in the northern most point of Old Marco is Cafe de Marco. An intimate bistro/cafe serving the most diverse selection of fresh seafood & other continental specialties since 1983. A favorite amongst locals & seasonal return visitors to Marco Island. Reservations are greatly appreciated. Olde Florida atmosphere in the historic district of Olde Marco. Perfect for an outstanding meal, business, or special occasion. Vast wine selection and beer available. Twilight specials and children's menu available. Owned and operated by same owner & family since starting out in 1983. Our building enjoys a rich piece of Marco history. The Cafe's building was the original quarters for the chamber maids employed by the historic Old Marco Inn just a few yards away. Many years ago the Inn functioned as a "bed & breakfast", and the maids would simply walk to work from our building. This explains the answer to a frequently asked question..."Was this an old house at one time?" Today, step inside to what has been transformed into an islander's tradition for over 30 years. We look forward to serving you soon! ~Sandy Franchino, Owner

Take the time to find this gem. The service and food are outstanding particularly if you are a seafood lover. Their signature Prawn dish has no comparison and the macadamia encrusted grouper was very flavouful. One hitch was the ABC gum that was stuck under the read plate from a previous person. Obviously that person had no class to begin with. However, the staff setting the tables should have caught it and not allowed us to find it. It was annoying and nothing was offered as a goodwill gesture so the tip was less than I would have left normally. Just be sure to check the settings when you sit down so if there is another hitch, you get it sooner rather than later. Having said all of that, we would still go back cause the rest was worth it.

“Best restaurant on Marco”
Reviewed May 1, 2013 via mobile

For service and food quality there is no place better. The Jumbo Prawns are amazing. The surf and turf is the best. The lobster bisque is great. The ambiance and service Is the best on the island. You won't be disappointed.

We stopped for dinner on our anniversary. We sat outside. The food was very good. We ordered two of their specials and enjoyed it. Atmosphere was very good. We would recommend.

“Not really for kids”
Reviewed April 23, 2013

Had a fabulous meal food was excellent , unfortunately I would not say it is very child friendly and was very disappointed by some staffs attitude regarding children . We were the only family with young children in the restaurant and this seemed to be a issue ... Also a few glasses still had lipstick marks and had to be replaced . Definitely a restaurant for couples or friends not so much young families .
