Description: Tucked away in the northern most point of Old Marco is Cafe de Marco. An intimate bistro/cafe serving the most diverse selection of fresh seafood & other continental specialties since 1983. A favorite amongst locals & seasonal return visitors to Marco Island. Reservations are greatly appreciated. Olde Florida atmosphere in the historic district of Olde Marco. Perfect for an outstanding meal, business, or special occasion. Vast wine selection and beer available. Twilight specials and children's menu available. Owned and operated by same owner & family since starting out in 1983. Our building enjoys a rich piece of Marco history. The Cafe's building was the original quarters for the chamber maids employed by the historic Old Marco Inn just a few yards away. Many years ago the Inn functioned as a "bed & breakfast", and the maids would simply walk to work from our building. This explains the answer to a frequently asked question..."Was this an old house at one time?" Today, step inside to what has been transformed into an islander's tradition for over 30 years. We look forward to serving you soon! ~Sandy Franchino, Owner

We're just back from a fabulous meal at Cafe de Marco. With great service and outstanding fresh seafood, I'll be back. The oysters Rockefeller and house special prawns were a treat. If you're looking for a cocktail, be advised...beer and wine only.

The restaurant looks like nothing special from the outside, but the experience we had inside was nothing short of amazing. The service was excellent. The wine selection was suggested by our waitress and it was great without being expensive. Her personality just added to the great time we had.
To finish off the package, the fish dish I ordered “ named after the owners daughter” was one of the best meals I have ever had. It’s a perfect place to have dinner when staying on Marco Island

My husband and I returned to the Cafe de Marco after dining there two years ago with friends from Princeton. We wonder, now , what took us so long to return. The ambiance is quiet and romantic , sparkly lights and candles. Our friendly server, Marty, was extremely welcoming and professional with spot on suggestions from the specials and regular menu. Between us we enjoyed the lamb chops, Florida lobster tail as entrees, accompanied with perfectly cooked and lightly dressed vegetables. The salads were extremely fresh , mine dressed with red vinegar and oil, my husbands with a superb blue cheese. Our appetizer, however, was the star dish of the evening . Cafe de Marco serves Oysters Rockefeller that surpasses any I have had in New Orleans , including Antoines where they were originally created. We will be going back for plates full more as well as a couple more of those lobster tails. Yum! During the course of our meal, several staff members, including hostess, bus people, kitchen chefs came by our table at perfect intervals and asked us if everything was ok, if we were enjoying our meal, and did we need anything? We were extremely impressed by the graciousness of the staff and plan to visit again many many times.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post a review of the Café de Marco. We are delighted that you joined us at the Café for dinner and had a wonderful experience! We are pleased to know that you enjoyed our signature dish, the Jumbo Prawns. Our seafood is brought to us on a daily basis to ensure it is as fresh and tasty as possible. Thank you for your positive comments on the transportation service that we provide. We understand that sometimes our customers do not have their own form of transportation and feel that providing this for them makes for a more convenient and relaxed way to travel to and from the Café. It is very satisfying to know that your service was excellent while dining with us. One of our many goals is to ensure our wait staff is always very knowledgable, friendly and helpful in order to provide you with the best experience possible. We understand that you visited us just before we started our renovations and invite you back to see the brand new fresh look that we have created. We very much appreciate all of your positive feedback and we hope to see you in the near future!

Once again many thanks and the best,

Café de Marco Management Team

This restaurant is excellent. We go there every time we visit Marco Island. The owner and staff make you feel like part of the family. Love the Escargot and Oyster Rockefeller appetizers. The Broiled Captains Seafood platter is delicious, as well as, the Stuffed Lobster Tail and Crab Au Gratin. I highly recommend you visit this restaurant.

It would have been our second trip to this restaurant but...we walked in among two other groups, families. Once through the door, the hostess dismissed us saying "go wait in the courtyard" while in fact the entire restaurant is empty. Two groups left immediately completely offended by this behavior, she then turned to us saying that she might squeeze us in but the little ones would have to push in together. There was nothing welcoming about how the hostess handled having 12 people walk through the door given the quality, pricing and environment of the restaurant we felt like the host or hostess should have been easily able to at least pretend to be welcoming. On a Sunday night. So we went else where; a local Mexican restaurant where a 12 or 13 year old boy greeted us with Welcome, how many in your party? Hmmm, so much about worrying about the fiscal cliff
