“Apollo Condo UNIT 809”
Reviewed June 6, 2014

Having never been to the Gulf Coast of sunny Florida, my husband and I decided to take a trip to the BEAUTIFUL Marco Island at a friends recommendation. This condo is well equipped with everything one would need to have a fun, relaxing time. From the moment we pulled up, unlocked the buildings front door, retrieved a cart from the lobby to bring our belongings up the elevator to the 8th floor, we were impressed. This is a quiet, clean building.

The unit is bright and sunny. A fully stocked kitchen allows for preparing full meals if you desire. There are two tv's and free WiFi which was great. There is a storage shed outside the units front door that contains a multitude of items you can use for the beach (chairs/cart to lug things/umbrella).

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the bed linens and bathroom towels were high quality (not your standard hotel linens as I was expecting). Nice beach towels are also provided! This condo has a great balcony where we spent a lot of time-drinking coffee, eating breakfast and having late afternoon cocktails. The view is lovely!

Thank you for a great time!
*p.s. The air conditioning works GREAT!

Room Tip: Ocean view..can't beat it. Wonderful for watching sunsets.

My husband and I stayed at the Apollo condo 1006 for a week in April 2014. I give the condo 5 stars for the location and views--top floor condo, right on the beach with fantastic views. The owner was very pleasant to deal with and provided supplies for the beach: chairs, umbrella, cooler and cart which were much appreciated. I would only give 1 star for the condo itself however. The condo is small (just over 500 square feet) and we felt it was not very clean. There were too many items on the counter tops and tables; silverware and small appliances on the kitchen counter, and 10 or so fake plants all over the condo. It is difficult for cleaning crews to clean horizontal surfaces with so much clutter and fake plants just collect dust. There were only a few hangers in the closet which was already filled with condo supplies so we had to leave our luggage in the very small living room. I would recommend replacing the chair in the bedroom with a bench that could provide additional storage. The second drawer of the armoire had tiny moving insects. It would be much better to have surfaces clean of clutter and have any furniture also perform a storage function in such a small condo. Small rugs present a tripping hazard and did not look like they were cleaned with each visitor (weekly rental), Cupboards had crumbs inside, some of the dishes and glasses had fingerprints. Worst of all was the bed which had to be one of the worst I've ever slept on and had a giant "hump" in the middle. The heavy comforter was out of place in hot Florida and I wondered how often that got cleaned. We paid a premium price because of when we visited and we felt let down. I would recommend Marco Island but will look for a larger, cleaner condo next time.

Apollo Unit 602 is a one-bedroom apartment, perfect for a couple. Step out to the balcony and there's the swimming pool, beach and the Gulf of Mexico with a pod of dolphins swimming by. The sunsets are amazing, so much so that people gather on the beach to applaud and cheer as the sun sets over the horizon. You can believe every word in Barbara's (owner) description of her unit and the Apollo facilities. Look up the term customer service in the dictionary and there should be a picture of Barbara. Her unit is beautifully decorated and she provides everything you'll need. Queen bed in the bedroom is exceptionally comfortable and there is a pull-out couch in the living room. The wifi works great. Should mention that we found the staff at the Apollo were very friendly and professional, too. We would recommend Apollo Unit 602 in a heartbeat.

First, let me say, the location, price and all of the condos are ocean front, are the best reasons to stay at the Apollo Condos. As for our condo, #904, I don't know if we would choose that one again. It was clean, they had nice towels and the bed was comfortable. The pull out couch was ok, but that is pretty standard for pull outs. My only issue is that it would have been nice and convenient if they had supplied a few thing. We had 1 roll of t.p., no dish or laundry soap, no trash bags, only a broken beach umbrella (so we bought a new one for $30, you're welcome) sparse utensils. I understand that they do not have to supply this, but it is a bummer to have to buy all these things when each renter only needs to use a bit. If you get stuff from Costco and leave small amounts for renters (garbage bags) it would be better. It's not like renters are going to take off with a huge bottle of Dawn. But, if that happened, you could deduct from the deposit. Another option would be if the Apollo had a vending machine with small packages of these things. Anyway, next time we will bring small amounts of these supplies with us. Another thing we would bring is binoculars. There are lots of dolphins! The beach is very "shelly" so be sure to wear something on your feet. We had great covered parking. The facility has good security (you need a key for all doors and elevators). We would go back to the Apollo, just not sure if we would use #904.

We just returned from our first trip to Marco Island. The condo setting on the beach was perfect - beachfront and down toward the south end. Unit was 1BR - small but do-able for a week - and could use some updating (paint, tile floors, furnishings) but was OK. On the corner of the 8th floor so great views of the Gulf! Small but irritating item was lack of basic supplies - we had to buy our own shampoo, soap, dish-washing detergent, paper towels and toilet paper - for the price we paid, I took for granted these minor items would be supplied (as they were in other condos we had rented in the past). Staff at the Apollo was friendly and accommodating. A plus - The Sunset Grill is located on the first floor of the complex - great place for drinks or food. Overall, it was a great stay.

We stayed at the Apollo in #505. It is a 1 bed, 1 bath unit. Perfect for 2 people. The unit is clean. The view cannot be beat, it is nice having a restaurant and bar, pool, and hot tub in the complex. The restaurant is a little pricey, but nice to grab a sandwich or appetizer, or have a drink on the patio and watch the sunset. Pat at Century 21 was great to work with. We enjoyed our trip, liked the unit, and will be back.
