“Enjoyed our Stay!”
Reviewed November 3, 2013

Stayed Oct. 26-Nov. 2, 2013: This was our first time to Marco Island and we stayed at Club Regency. The rooms were newly renovated and very clean and the place was very quiet as it was off season so great time to be there. The only problem was finding it on S. Collier as it's tucked away and cannot be seen from the street. You have to pull into the resort next to it (Marco Island Beach Resort) and at night, the sign for Club Regency was very dimly lit and hidden in the bushes. We were in the C building so no water views. Staff was friendly and very helpful. No restaurants in this facility but one of the tops is right next door not to be missed: "Sale e Pepe" 5 star amazing place!!

Room Tip: Ask for E building for water views and 2nd floor unless you don't care to look at the pool.

Club Regency is within walking distance to many restaurants & shops.
It is located on the white sand beaches of Marco Island.
The resort is small & cozy & very quiet.
We loved everything about our stay here.
The staff is wonderful & helpful.
The pool is warm and very clean.
We had no complaints :)
Take a quick drive to Joeys for dinner. The best place on the island for dinner!!

Room Tip: Not all rooms have gulf views. Ask for a room on second floor as they have vaulted ceilings & a...

This was a real find as its quite a small resort (about 28 2-bed suites) on S Collier in Marco. We had been to Marco before so were really looking forward to this holiday and were not disappointed. We were in E207. E is the best building as it faces the beach. 2 is the best floor as it is high enough to have a great view over the beach.

There is nothing really at this resort apart from the accommodation (which is great), the pool and the beach (both of which are fantastic). You need to walk across the road to find some decent family restaurants and bars. Its worth the walk south down the beach to the Sunset Bar which is fantastic to sit, drink, eat and enjoy, ..... the sunset!

Suites are excellent but maybe could just do with some modernisation. Excellent facilities (cable TV, full kitchen, spacious, screened lanais etc).

Dollar for dollar and roominess this is the Best deal on Marco Island. Most hotels on the island average $300 per night for a tiny room. At Club Regency you get a Full 2 bedroom 2 bath apartment with a sleeper sofa. Can accommodate 6 people. Full kitchen, wet bar, utensils and dishwasher and dining room table as well as a living room. You would to rent a large full suite at any of the hotels to get this much and you would pay approximately for 2 days what you pay Club Regency for a full week.
Units have a beach view which is slightly more or a pool view. The property is located on the beach. Walk from your room. Recreation room and 3 grills are located poolside. Restaurant and supermarkets and almost everything nearby.
I go there 3 times a year and have since 1974. Major developments since then.
Check it out and compare.

We stayed at the Club Regency for a week and absolutely loved it. The Marco Island area is simply beautiful. The view of the Gulf of Mexico is nothing short of spectacular. We watched some amazing sunsets. Prior to our vacation I signed up with http://www.MyResortNetwork.com to be notified of timeshare listings by owners on Marco Island. After being notified of availability during the week we wanted to travel, I contacted the owner of the timeshare directly to make arrangements. They were wonderful to work with. Club Regency is a great property in a great location with plenty of things to do. The property is located directly on the beach and there is shopping nearby. They have a beautiful-heated pool and hot tub in a tropical area with plenty of sun and shady areas. They do not provide daily housekeeping, but towels can be exchanged two times per week. Our unit was located in Building E on the lower level. The facility offers free wi-fi and laundry facilities are shared between 4 units for a small charge. The kitchen area has been nicely updated and well equipped. We would jump at the opportunity to stay at Club Regency again.

Our first evening on Marco Island we ate at Kurrents Restaurant, it was by far the most delicious meal of our trip. One night we were planning to go to Stan’s in Goodland, but discovered they close early on Sunday nights. We ended up going to the restaurant next door, Little Bar Restaurant, what a great little hidden gem. The last evening we ate at Snook Inn. We also cooked at the condo.

We during the week took a local boat tour of the islands and stopped at Cape Romano, my husband did some backwater fishing, one day we rented chairs and an umbrella at the beach, and we did lots of shelling. We found some amazing shells at Tigertail Beach. We also went on an airboat ride and the tram at Shark Valley in the Everglades before heading to Key West for three nights.

It was truly a vacation to remember.

Room Tip: Building E has Gulf View units

Arriving from rural central Florida to Marco Island, one’s first impression is how built up Marco Island is. The small Club Regency resort is 2-storey low-rise, but it is surrounded by much taller buildings, which dominate the Gulf beach. Marco Island is regarded as a highly desirable location, especially for snowbirds. Although very comfortable with excellent facilities, it was much too built-up for us. Horses for courses. Although we arrived early, the friendly and helpful front-desk staff checked us in early and swiftly, which was great as we gained a half-day in our 2-week Florida holiday. Our 2-bedroom unit in the C building, like all the units at the Club, was fairly large and well appointed, especially the splendid, lounge and lanai. However, both the bedrooms – both the king and the 2 single-bed – were small; there was barely room to move around. Apart from the shower, the bathroom was typically Hilton and small. In the quad containing the wonderful heated pool – one of the best we have experienced – there is the Club House, but HGVC members should not expect breakfast or hors d’oeuvres to be served there. The Club House has tables and chairs, a kitchen albeit with a missing stove (apparently the space is now to be filled with an ice machine), drinks machine, and a computer that, according to fellow guests, had not worked for some time (Apparently, waiting on Hilton staff to turn up from other facilities on the island). The grills outside are excellent, although since an overhead light has been out for a while, it was very difficult to see the controls – and whether food was cooked. Nonetheless, this area is one of the nicest on the property, and enjoyable for evening meals. The Club provides a list of activities at check in, but – perhaps predictably – they appear to be primarily selling exercises. One of these activities was the potentially attractive “Thank God it’s Wednesday”, which is curiously advertised as an “end of the week drink concoction at the Club House.” Wednesday – end of the week!

Beyond the property is a white sandy beach with all the usual facilities, where you watch the sun go down over the Gulf. It can be pretty treacherous under foot, however, because of very sharp broken shells. In MI itself, don’t miss the excellent farmer’s market on Wednesdays. (If only it was earlier in the week, we might have bought some of the sometimes-exotic produce on sale.) There are also lots of restaurants, including some good ones, like Marek’s. (We dined there twice in a week.) We also took advantage of MI’s location near to the Everglades National Park and drove down to Everglades City (not a city really), where we enjoyed a great ride with Everglades City Airboat Tours on Dupont, followed by a nice lunch at City Seafood on Begonia, by the canal. Also, the lovely little town of Naples is nearby, where you should spend an afternoon or a day, with excellent restaurants.

The four of us had a really lovely time at Club Regency, although we would have preferred a resort with larger grounds, and one not surrounded by tall hotel complexes. Unless you walked along the beach, you could not help feeling a tad closed in. While the front desk staff were really friendly and could not have been more helpful addressing our queries, we had several (albeit small) maintenance issues and missing items in the unit (condiments, insufficient shirt hangers, no instructions for the coffee machine, no lids for the trash bins, and a flickering light in the bedroom).
