“Hot adventure on a cold Florida morning”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2013

Cool March day with a heavy wind. We were a group with a 2 month and 7 month old, 2, 5, 7, and adults. Our day started with a phone call from Dreamlander to ask us if we wanted a later start due to the cool morning. After deciding the babies were fed and timed for our 9 am start we just decided to soldier on, but how kind of the tour company to give us the chance to change!! Windy but the boat is steady and reliable, clean and safe. Shelling was fun-- lots of whole sand dollars- kids loved it. Saw lots of dolphins in the channel and Captain George kept the boat in the area of the dolphins for some time! There were picture cards of birds and shells that the kids loved looking through and binoculars, though not needed for dolphins as they were very close to boat. Captain George took a ton of pictures with his camera and emailed them to us which was great as our hands were filled with bags of shells and babies. Lovely people. Safe, fun adventure. Educational and worth the price!

“Simply wonderful”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

Steve was such wonderful guide. We had an amazing time kayaking and looking for sea shells. I would recommend this company over and over again. They took such care to make our trip special... even taking photos as we enjoyed the adventure. Price is very reaosnable and much less than other touring companies.

“dreamlander tours rocks!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 8, 2013

this is an excellent experience for your vacation. It was worth the money more than any other attraction we experienced. The captain knew all about the area, where to go to see all that the ocean has to offer (dolphins, whales, birds nesting) and this tour also offers a trip where you can exirt the boat and go shelling. the people that run this operation are top notch, friendly, and knowledgable. for the money. TAKE THIS TRIP if you are anywhere near southern florida, it will be the best thing you do on your vacation!!!!!!

I appreciate the wonderful review. I just need to clarify that we saw many pods of dolphin's during our voyage, but no whales. They are only located in the deepest parts of the Gulf of Mexico, but not in our shallow waters.

“A beautiful sunset tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 4, 2013

We had planned to go fishing in the morning, but the weather was a little too cold; so decided to go on the sunset tour. Great decision on our part! Captain Josh was so knowledgeable about the wildlife and plant life in and around Marco Island and South Florida. We took the pontoon boat through the canals into the Marco River and to the Gulf. At the mouth of the river/canals/gulf were a pod of dolphins that we watched for a long time - very cool. After the beautiful sunset, Captain Josh dropped us off at the Snook Inn restaurant. Steve and Q from Dreamlander Tours made all the arrangements at the Snook Inn for us - which allowed us to get right in (no waiting) and the restaurant gave us a free ride back to our resort. It was an absolutely perfect evening. Would definitely do it again.

“Saw dolphins! Had a great boat tour!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 3, 2013

My husband, 10 month-old son, and I went on the 2-hour boat tour a couple days ago, and had a great time. We made our reservation the day before, and though we gave a credit card to reserve our spot, it sounds like we wouldn't have had trouble canceling if we needed to (with an infant, you never know!). Their website said kids need to be 2 or over to go on the boat, but when I called they said it was fine.

It can be a little tricky to find the place - the boat is parked behind the Sunset Cove complex, next to the Wynn Dixie - but the woman on the phone explained it pretty well and we didn't really have any difficulty in the end - just pay attention when she explains on the phone! My recommendation to the company would be to put directions on their website. There isn't even an address on the website (or on Trip Advisor), so there is no way to use a GPS to help.

When we arrived, we were greeted by Steve (the owner), who was very friendly and accommodating. Since the weather was fairly cold, we were the only people on the tour that day. Josh, our guide, was wonderful. He was full of great information, which he gave along the way - but he wasn't shoving it down our throats, either. He was very easy going, and answered all our questions, and definitely found us some good dolphin-viewing! Also pointed out other animals, particularly birds, along the way. As others have mentioned, they take pictures along the way and provide a CD as part of the trip, which is very nice (we haven't received ours yet but it is being mailed to us).

We felt very well taken care of on the trip. The price was a little more reasonable but fairly on par with other companies - it was nice we didn't have to pay for the baby (at least one other company would have charged $20 for the baby), and it was nice to find a trip that didn't include shelling (our window of "happy awake time" for the baby is limited!)... though FYI they do have one longer tour in the morning that does include shelling, so it is an option if you want to do that.

Would definitely recommend Dreamlander Tours!
