“Overpriced”
Reviewed August 9, 2013 via mobile

We decided to go because of good reviews on trip advisor, definitely a mistake. The conch chowder was like chili which was not expected, the calamari was very good but needed marinara which they provided on request. Service was great but waitress acted irritated when we asked her to split the bill at the end for our group of 6. Food was definitely overpriced, I had the shrimp and clam pasta which was $26 but I would've paid $12 for it. Not as fresh as it should've been for being on the gulf. Mahi mahi was delicious and fresh but it was also overpriced. We all wished we would have gone back to Cj's next door

“Fun, casual & great location”
Reviewed August 8, 2013

Since changing over from Guy Harvey's (still have the named etched into the tables) we tried it only once. Our experience was excellent. First, the location is perfect, right on the bay along with a happening area with music playing. Second, the food and drinks were truly delicious. The ravioli's, truffle fries, fish tacos (best I've had with close second in Aruba) and Mahi Mahi that our table enjoyed were all so good that no one left a bite. Except for the kids! They had so much to look at with the giant fish tanks and pretend fishing pond with magnetic rods,& fish that they let us talk for a bit. We skipped desert since the kids wanted cold stone which was in the same pier/plaza. The service was friendly and the staff were so helpful, kind and accommodating. Overall, I would recommend this for a casual dinner, great for families & offer outdoor seating.

“Popular Bay Front Eatery with Average Food”
Reviewed August 5, 2013

Dine there from time to time since it replaced Guy Harvey at the Esplanade on Marco. Good to very good burgers, tacos, salads, some slightly expensive entrees (read below), regular and so-called fancy drinks. Service is friendly and knowledgeable. The joint has loads of outdoor dining if that is your thing. There are things to entertain children, at least to a degree, such as a fishing hole where kids can fish for magnetic fish. Can recommend this place as a solid, no surprises place for casual food. Among my tests of any kitchen is Paella as a good one requires the various ingredients to be added at the right intervals and with care. Their's ($32) was probably just as expected, average to poor, but after speaking with our server I wanted to try it. Flavors were nicely melded, but was a tad heavy on the oil with some of the featured ingredients inedible (e.g., lobster was tough as rubber, micro chicken filet dry and the fish soft and mushy). To be fair, the regular cook was not present so I might give the dish another try, but doubt that I will and stick to Mangos when I need a burger-fix. Bottom line is think of Mangos for casual food at fair resort pricing if you want to dine in a pleasant bay front atmosphere, but not for something complicated.

“2 great experiences and then 1 not so great”
Reviewed August 2, 2013

I had previously been to Mangos for Dinner with family on one occasion and for lunch with a large group from a boating party on another occasion. Both times we had great food and great service.

This afternoon (8-2-13) I decided to go for drinks with a friend and was not pleased at all.
We were the only people (2 women) at the bar. At first the bartender took a minute or 2 to acknowledge us. He gave us our drinks. My friend asked for the menu he offered but then he never came back to ask if we had decided on any food items. He actually never even came back to us until our drinks were already empty. At this point we had decided to leave and were just waiting for the bill. He then brought the bill and we paid it. When he came back he handed us little chits for the other drink we should have been given for happy hour. I have never been handed a chit for a future drink like that.

We exited the restaurant and went down to CJs on the Bay for drinks and food. We received good food and good service there.

“Great lunch and a fabulous setting on Marco Island!”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

Stopped here for lunch. Great location overlooking the dock in Naple's Bay. The food was fresh and menu appropriate to the island setting. Even had entrees listed for your cat or dog! Terrific mimosas - a very enjoyable lunch!
