“Stay here for luxury and economy”
Reviewed June 27, 2013

Lovely 98 room luxury full service resort. Valet parking required and costs $18.00 per day, but soooo worth it. car is parked under hotel so stays cool, and it is nice during torrential evening storms to have someone bring your car. Valets are very friendly and good at recommending places to eat. From valet, walk into immaculate lobby, lots of marble, scents of pot pourri in the air. Valet takes your luggage to room. We stayed in one bedroom king suite. Living area had a sofa bed for our 16 year old son. Next time, we will spring for two bedrooms, because son was always sleeping and in our way in living area. We had full view from balcony of the ocean. Large window in bedroom gave us full view of the ocean, also. We also had clear view from the balcony of the pool, which was nice. We were on the tenth floor.

Food at the pool bar and the food at the bar area near the walk to the beach is outstanding. Fresh and delicious every time. We tried the fruit platter, pizza, clam chowder, hoummous, chips and salsa, turkey wrap, quesadillas - all were very good. Do not waste your time going anywhere else for lunch. (Do not, I repeat, do not be tempted to eat two buildings down at the Marriott. Food at the Marriot's Quinn's is horrible. Quinn's is dirty and smells bad, too.).

Service on the beach is so friendly. Guys get you an umbrella, put towels on the chairs, provide unlimited ice cold lemon flavored water, pass out fruit slushies every day at 3:00, and bring drink orders. Housekeeping is consistent. They wash dirty dishes for us! They provide turn down each night with chocolates and a little card with an inspirational quote. They even turn down the sofa bed for my son! Only complaint is there are no nonstick pans and I have no metal spatula to scrape off sticking food. If you intend to cook a lot, bring paper towels and a nonstick pan. Has an electric cooktop, oven, and microwave, very good exhaust system so I made bacon for breakfast.

We really love this place. It is like a mini Ritz Carlton. It is calm and quiet, much nicer than the Marriot which was hosting a large convention of drunk realtors!

Exercise room is three stair steppers, three recumbent(sp?) bikes, three treadmills, all with TV's. Free weights, exercise ball, eight weight machines. Bring headphones for TV.

Don't expect any special stuff for little ones, but there are quite a few couples with very young ones and they seem very happy.

Ok, now I need to give it a rest and hit the beach.

Room Tip: Pick a room 10th floor or above for best ocean views. All rooms have a nice ocean view, though.

We stayed here the first week of June and were very impressed!!! The rooms are AWESOME, the beach is very nice and the pool was very inviting.
The only complaint is the drinks were way over priced!!!! Other than that, we loved it

Definitely a five star hotel with all the amenities. Towels provided for you at the beach as well as lounge chairs and umbrellas. Fruit smoothies everyday at the pool at 3 o'clock. Turndown service everybody evening with two chocolates on your bed. Valet parking.

Marco Beach Ocean resort is a beautiful resort. My husband and I stayed there for a week with our two daughters, ages 15 & 12. We bought their package that included free valet parking and a $50 food/drink voucher daily.

Suites:
All rooms are suites equipped with a full kitchen. We really enjoyed this because it allowed us to make most of our food in our room. We went out to eat in the evenings for dinner only. We had a one bedroom suite equipped with king bed and sofa sleeper. There was a TV in the bedroom as well as the living room. Our patio overlooked the ocean. It was spectacular. The king bed in the bedroom was pretty hard and uncomfortable. The sleeper sofa was worse.

Beach:
The beach was the most beautiful. Tons and tons of shells. You can walk the beach miles in each direction and feel safe. The water was gorgeous. You could walk out 50 yards and still only be waist deep. In the evening, it was low-tide. Very cool to be able to walk along sand bar that just a few hours earlier was under water.
Beach attendants were very helpful. They would set up your chairs for you daily. Octavio was very helpful. They all work very hard. Tipping is encouraged. Dwayne brought us drinks on the beach whenever we needed.

Pool & Hot tub:
Pool was nice. We didn't spend much time in the pool as we preferred the ocean. It's great for kids as the deepest is only 4'6". Lots of chairs and umbrellas.

Restaurants:
There weren't many restaurants in the resort.

Sale e Pepe (open to the public)
Finer dining. Reservations are recommended but not required. We ate there one night toward the end of our trip. Food was great! A little pricey though.

Poolside bar (Resort guests only, room charge only):
Bar just off pool. We never ate or drank there. I'm assuming its the same food and drink as the Beachfront Bar & Grill.

Beachfront Bar & Grill (Resort guests only, room charge only):
Your typical bar food. We had lunch here one afternoon. Average entree is $12. Drinks are a little higher. $10 Piña Colada. Yummy though!!

Shopping:
There really isn't much shopping on the island. There happened to be a small center across and down the street from our resort. Alvin's Island was a great place for souvenirs and to kill time in the evening.

Esplanade
On Collier just across from Winn-Dixie grocery store. Has a Starbucks, Cold Stone and a few local shops. Live music in the outside bar.

There's also a few shops in the strip center just north of Winn-Dixie where you'll find Publix grocery store.

Dining:
There are many places to eat outside of the resort. We only ate at a few in the strip mall across from our resort. Nacho Mamas was great Mexican food and DaVinci's was great Italian. Recommended by the front desk was Snook Inn on the island. it was about a 5 min drive from resort just off of Bald Eagle Dr. Very cute and nautical. We drove in to Naples quite a bit for dinner and shopping.

Naples:
If you like a good shopping mall, we discovered Waterside Shops (very beautiful/high end mall), Mercado, Tin City and Venetian Village. The front desk will give you a map of these. At Waterside Shops, we ate at BrickTop (or something like that). Awesome food!!

Airport:
We flew in to Ft. Meyers. The front desk recommended a great outlet mall just off of 75 on our way to the airport. Miromar Outlets. Every store you can imagine! Great place to kill a few hours before heading to airport. About 15 minutes from airport.

Room Tip: Request a room floor 8 or higher for best view of ocean.

When we arruved at marco beach resorrt we were very impressed with the service at the front desk and the bell concierge workers especially Kris who was very helpful and always had a friendly smile on his face. The hotel was very clean and accomodating. However, regardless of how friendly the front staff was the back staff was not so much. The bar tender at the pool nathan was not so friendly and accomodating. When I asked him when the complimentary smoothies were he laughed and walked away. Maybe he didn´t understand me... And the gentlement and the beach laying out the chairs John and his helper which I cant remember his name were a bit rude when they were wondering how many people were in the room and I kept asking what was the problem so I could explain that we had two extra guests that showed up from the four resgistered but they would not listen to me which was frustrating. It was not a big deal but it´s little things that bother and that differiantiated the back staff from the front staff.

Loved the facility and accommodations. Stayed 4 nights from June 12-16, 2013. Great room and price for what we paid. We originally had a one bedroom suite and we upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite that was beautiful! We were on the same level as the pool which was really convenient. There were five of us girls staying in one room and we had plenty of space. The suite had 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms plus a pull out coach. The service was excellent and prompt. Everyone at the hotel was really friendly and helpful. We went there for a relaxing spa weekend and it was everything we could ask for. The spa facility was really great and we all loved the treatments we received. Had dinner at Sale y Pepe which was amazing. It was recommended that we have a later dinner watching the sun set on the balcony. The view was breathtaking! It was one of the best restaurants that was on the island. The island is really quite and is not much of a party place. We drove down to Naples for activities, drinks and dancing. The pool was a little small but perfect and quite. More people came on the weekend but it was never extremely crowded. Great beach access and services. The staff and hotel were all really accommodating and friendly. The Valet pulled up the car quickly and were really helpful with directions and providing information. Would definitely recommend this for future stays. The island is really small and the speed limit is super slow. Other then that it was a beautiful island!

Room Tip: I personally recommend the 5th floor rooms because it leads out to the pool and it was really conven...

Aside from the clouds/rain due to Tropical Storm Andrea, we had a great time at MBOR. Service was good, rooms/property/beaches/bathrooms were all clean, spa was good, drinks were slightly overpriced (~$9-$13 for specialty drinks -- though, 2 for 1 during HH) but somewhat expected at a resort so that was fine, Sale y Pepe was great, staff was all friendly (especially Dwight on the beach), and sunsets were amazing. Nothing really stood out as being a "wow" factor but, then again, nowhere on the island really has that sort of appeal. I can absolutely see why this is one of the top ranked hotels on the island. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Like others have said, go with the full gulf view.
