This resort is stunning and a great place for the kids. This is my third time there and we loved it. We plan to return every year.

I was at the Marriot on Marco for the Hardware Conference. It could not have been nicer. The hotel is beautiful. The beach is amazing and the pool is really nice as well.

We were there off season and for a conference, so enjoying the amenities is not as easy as you would like...work has to come first...ugh! But the time spent there was great.

The rooms we had were spacious and very clean.

The food at all of our functions and the restaurants on the property was excellent.

The staff couldn't have done more for you.

The only thing that bothered me is that they charge for internet service....a beautiful upscale hotel! We stayed our last night at the Hampton Inn at the airport in Fort Myers and they have complimentary internet...go figure.

Also, the parking was quite expensive. but I think it was in line with other hotels.

We arrived on 28 August 2010 and were greeted by Valet parking ($20.00 a night) which we took advantage of for the first night. All the hotel staff were extremely helpful and pleasant and really couldn't do enough for us. If you want to take advantage of all the additional extras ie bellboy for luggage, then they are available but all for a price. Our room was lovely and spacious with all mod cons, mini-bar, fridge, coffee maker, TV, hairdryer and a range of showers gels, shampoo etc. The hotel complex is very clean and well looked after. There are two pools and three hot tubs. One pool is aimed for use by children and has fountains and a small water slide (this is staffed). Towels are provided and umbrellas and loungers are free. Each pool has a bar nearby. There's a gym and spa which we didn't use. The beach is cleaned everyday and has pure white sands. We would recommend wearing footwear as the beach is very shelly. The sun loungers are free on the beach but there is a charge for an umbrella ($9.90 per day). The Hawaiian permanent sun huts are not free and for the two weeks we were there, we only saw them used on a couple of occasions. There are watersports - Jet Skis, Parasailing & Sailing, but all at additional costs and quite expensive. Quinns Bar offers beach service for drinks and snacks. There are shops in the hotel, womens & mens clothing, gifts, jewellery and a coffee shop. Breakfast is served daily from 7am to 11am Monday to Friday and 7am to 12 noon on Saturdays and Sundays. Ours was included but normally costs $20.95 each (not including a tip). There is everything available from a full English through to cereal and beyond - too much to list. There are two restaurants available for evening meals both offering a good range of menus. Korals Bar offers Sushi and is open until midnight. The bar staff (Sue & Dano) are great. Don't be put off by the drink costs - they are well made up for by the quantity you receive. I can recommend an English Pina Colada (the American ones are Frozen). There are plenty of places to eat on Marco Island, however most of them require the use of a car. Da Vincis (Italian), Captain Briens (Fish), Rookies (American) are all together in a small shopping complex further along from the hotel and within walking distance.

A couple of dislikes - There is no street parking anywhere on Marco Island. You can self park your car in a safe parking lot across from the hotel. You can come and go as you please with a barcoded parking ticket which operates the barriers. Note that this costs $12.00 per day.

During the week the hotel is quiet (even when there are business conferences going on as there was during our sdtay), however on the weekends the hotel does fill up mostly with people travelling over from the East Coast Florida. There are a lot of children, the majority of them are very well behaved but are left to their own devices especially during breakfast.

Apart from the two niggles above our stay was great and I can't recommend this enough.

Things to do away from the hotel -
Eating - Joeys Pizza, CJ on the Bay, Snook Inn, Da Vincis, Captain Briens - all on Marco Island. The Cheesecake Factory at the Coastland Center in Naples.

Shopping - The Coastland Center in Naples, Miromar Designer Outlets - off I75 on outskirts of Fort Myers, WalMart on outskirts of Marco Island. There are plenty of shops on Marco as well. La Miranda for manicure and pedicure. Well worth the $65.00!!

Sightseeing - All of Marco Island, Naples, Fort Myers, Captains Ricks (For Manatee watching) on US41 towards Miami, Captain Dougs for an air boat ride (on outskirts of Everglades City) off of US41.

Marco Island gets very busy between November and May. We went off peak and it was well worth it. We experienced the Labor Day weekend and although the hotel was very, very busy and noisy, it didn't affect our holiday.

If you want a relaxing holiday, this is the place to go!!

This resort is lovely. The landscaping, the rooms, the wide beach, the services- it has it all. Forget about the outside world and just ENJOY!!! Florida casual, not hoity-toity, and the kids are welcome.

I stayed at Marriott Marco Island while on vacation. The facility is in great shape and the sfaff offers tremendous service. There are numberous activities available on site daily,. I took tennis lessons (great clay courts) great instructor. The Wave Runner Tour is a must. so is a day trip to Tiger Tail Beach. There are several great resturants on Marco Island and in nearby Naples. We enjoyed the Snook Inn - Locals spot on the water - very casual - good food. The lobby Sushi bar in the hotel is very good. Pools are great and Spa offers great services.

Third time staying at the Marco Island Marriott Resort and we still love the place. Rooms are nice and have a balcony. Elevators are fast. The pools are nice. The beach is terrific. Just wish we could have stayed longer.

I have stayed at the Hilton and Marco Ocean Beach Resort in the past, but I wanted to give the Marriott a try this time. What a major disappointment! I would've had less stress if I had stayed at home. This place should be called "Marriott Family Resort"...not Resort and Spa. My wife and I were celebrating our 17th Anniversary. We arrived on a Friday and never knew it was a Nickelodeon Weekend. You would've thought you were in a large orphanage with kids running wild all over the place. Grant it, idiot parents are mostly to blame. They allow them to play in the hall, run back and forth to nearby "friends" rooms, scream and be noisy, and most of all, hijack both pools. When we complained about the noise level in our room, the front desk girl said "sorry, this a family resort..." I wished I would've known! Although the resort got rid of half of the patrons after Sunday, it was still a zoo. We had a nice room on the 6th floor. Bathroom was a little smaller than the Hilton and the Marco Ocean. Hallway door is not soundproof at all. You hear everything! Maid service was good, but each day the time was inconsistant and we'd come and go for an hour or two....sometimes the room was made, sometimes not. No turndown service, no big deal to me. Bed was comfy. We bought a fan at Wal-Mart just to make cover the noise at nighttime. There are two pools, one for kids and one for anyone...but mostly kids. You're lucky to find a spot poolside. While in the pool, be prepared for loud kids running, screaming, throwing things...and their idiot parents not teaching them proper behavior. Lounge chairs beachside are free. Extra costs for umbrellas or chickie huts, or equipment. Again, lazy people leaving their towels when they're done instead of properly returning them so you know what chairs are available. Self parking is $12 a day. The lot is across the street. It was so crowded on the weekend, the only spots left were at the end of their long lot almost in front of the Marco Ocean Resort. Fitness Center was very nice. Some equipment was squeaky and needed maintenance...but overall very good. We opted not to eat in their expensive restaurants or use the spa. We almost left after two days, but we opted to stay and suffer. We love Marco and we'll return to the island.....we just won't return to this resort unless they change their ways.
