I stayed this past wknd @ this wonderful Resort N Spa with my husband n 3 children. Upon arriving around 9:30 we were immediately given a room. (OFF Season Helps). There was no wait n the room was really a nice surprise. It comes equipped with a 42 inch LG TV with Direct TV channels. The Hotel is elegent, spacious with an intimate feel. The sand was powder white, n the water was so warm. The service was excellent. I have to say the best part of this place was the breakfast. This was the best bkfst I had ever has after being in nearly 50 resorts. We live in FL n we will be def be coming back here every 2-3 months or so. Be sure to bring ur own umbrellas as they charge u I belive $18 b4 1 and $12 after. Also u may wont to hit supmkt b4 arriving. We were well prepared after reading reviews. Water is $3 @ beach.

I traveled to this hotel for a conference. A great experience. Very clean. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed. The bed linens were plush and made for a restful stay.

Very nice hotel, clean, staff very helpful, of course it helped that the hotel & island were nearly deserted, tho we like it that way. Food at restaurants was also good, have to agree with previous review about the drinks. Ordered two mixed drinks at pool bar, $24, YIKES! The beach is nice, but very "shelly", not for the tenderfoot. If you want a beautiful beach visit the Mayan Riviera. Be sure to eat at some of the local restaurants, the Sunset Grill at the south end is right on the beach, and is awesome at sunset. Crab cakes, delicious! Also get to Snook's Inn in olde Marco. Both are locally owned and operated, nice to soak up a little flavor, isn't that why you visit a place like Marco? Just a note to those gentlemen over 40, Speedo bathing suits are not your friend, baggy suits are more pleasing to the eye.

The hotel is by far one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at. Great lobby area, lots of restaurants to chose from, the rooms are really nice, all have a balacony. The only down fall would be too many kids, and unsupervised kids at that. Parents would just dump their kids at the pool and take off. I witnessed several parents "check in" and then walk off leaving there kids to fool around the pool.(ages 7 to 12) In fact, on the last night (which totally ruined my trip) a parent asked there kid to run down and pick up there stuff and bring it back to the their room and they grab our stuff. We were in the pool not even 10ft away. My husbands debit card and my ID and his ID were in the bag. The family didnt return the bag until 10am the next day to front desk. (which was so inconsiderate, much like many of the parents there) Mean while we had to get secruity involved, they were looking all over the beach and pool w/flashlights, had to call Marco PD because our debit card was in there and cancel our card. Its not the hotels fault but they made every effort to fix it. But again, the kid factor is a annoying at this hotel. Might be better for families rather than couples, which is a shame since it would be a nice honeymoon spot. On the upside the lobby bar and Quinns on the beach is open till 12am. Which is strange for a hotel, they close early. We ate at Quinns in our swim suites. Couldnt beat the view, and the food is a bit more pricey but the portions are huge. Easy to split something there. One nice thing is that if you rent a cabana a wait staff drive back and fourth in a gulf cart and will get you drinks and food from Quinns. The hotel would be nice for a wedding, big ballrooms (there were a couple of weddings the weekend we were there) and they have a large padio area for a outdoor set up. Really nice.

Visted this resort for 3 days over Labor Day weekend with all my children and grandchild. Booked 3 rooms, one of which was poolside Lanai Suite. The room rate was over $800.00 per night for the suite and the service was terrible. Housekeeping was awful and repeated calls to the front desk resulted in zero. Requested extra towels and extra pillows....nothing for 3 days...asked for housekeeping to turn down beds and undo pull out couch...nothing for 3 days...asked to have room cleaned early in the day...nothing for 3 days....when room service was ordered no one returned to pick up dishes even after we called for over 3 hours....room was never cleaned properly and finally had to get hotel manager Joann involved....again no one responded or followed her orders..she did offer to reduce our rate for the last night of our stay but more should have been done as we spent many thousands of $$$$$ over a 3 day period. Never left hotel grounds so hotel got $$$$$$ for all meals, golf, spa treatments and shopping...was supposed to get discount on various activities (with passport booklet given at check in) but unless you asked for this it was NEVER offered by hotel staff members. Had a $145.00 manicure and pedicure and nail polish chipped off within 24 hours along with getting a toe infection from the pedicure....
Was also to get a $100.00 per day hotel credit for the Lanai Suite upon check out but once again it did NOT appear on my bill so I spent a good 30 min. at front desk trying to resolve this issue. The other 2 rooms that were booked in the South Tower at $231.00 had no problems so do yourself a favor and stay in one of those rooms.....The hotel overall is clean and the staff at Quinn's poolside were very nice. As a Marriott/Ritz Carlton member I expected the hotel to do more to resolve this problem.

Just got back from 4 nights at the resort with our two children ages, 8 and 11. Rooms were very spacious and clean with large balconies. Only downside to the rooms are that the beds are only doubles and that can make for tight sleeping for four. We did ask for and receive a rollaway, but the rooms can certainly fit queen beds.

The resort is very large and well maintained. Beautiful pools with lots of lounges. The first two days we were there the resort was pretty crowded and you had to reserve lounges early or you couldn't get them. By the third day, schools in Florida had returned to session so the resort cleared out nicely and we never had any problem getting seating at the pools.

The beach is beautiful and we did rent the umbrella for half a day several times. We didn't think that $12 was excessive and that included as many chairs or lounges as we wanted. Plus after a morning at the pools, the kids were ready to spend the afternoon on the beach.

As for the food and drinks, let me state that we are accustomed to staying at high end Marriotts, Hyatts, etc. and know that you're going to pay more on property than off. However, we did find the drinks and food excessively expensive. Its as if they are trying to make-up for the money that they've had to discount off of the rooms this summer. Drinks ran $10-12 and I agree with previous readers, they just aren't that good. Also, we found all of the food at the hotel super expensive and really just okay. Our first night we ate at Quinns and had very mediocre service and my husband's $14 hamburger was improperly cooked. By the time it came back, the rest of us had finished our meals. One hint, get a refill cup at Pazzi for $7 and you keep using it the entire time.

The staff at the hotel was extremely nice and helpful. Honestly, the biggest complaint we had was with check-in. The front desk clerk told us what a wonderful room on the 9th floor we had with views of the beach and the gulf. Great, we thought we were all set. Once we got to the room we realized that the pools she was referring to belonged to a neighboring property and right next to our balcony was a stairwell open to the public. In ten minutes, we saw mutiple people using it, literally adjacent to our balony. We called and asked for another room and were told the only available rooms were on the third floor with pool/gulf views (barely). The bellman helping us, said hey its your vacation, why settle. He picked up the phone, called rooms control and in 60 seconds got us a great room on the 9th floor with fantastic views of both the pools and gulf. He was wonderful, but we felt that the front desk staff blatantly lied to us. This left a VERY bad taste in our mouths.

Overall, great resort and we would return again. Just know how to play the "rooms" game.

Our 2nd trip to the Marriott and we have never been disappointed. We had an ocean front 2 bedroom suite and it doesn't get any better than this. The breakfast buffet & "yummy yummy ham ham" will satisfy most anyone. For the folks who complain about the price, there are cheaper alternatives on the island if you prefer, but none more convenient. We purchased a beach umbrella and some chairs at the local beach shop which saved us $$ and was more convenient than competing with the rental crowd. Ron's Everglade Adventures is 10x's better than the hotel tour, 3 plus hrs with dolphins and manatees right next to the jet ski's, and Speedy Johnsons Airboat tour in Everglade City is worth the trip.If it rains (it won't last) go to the Cheesecake Factory for an early dinner with is right next to the Coastland Center Mall for some shopping, though my wife calls it, "stress relief". In sum, great hotel for all ages, just waiting for my lottery office to contact me as I've already picked out the house where I want to live, I'm just a few mill short at the moment!
