Very nice hotel. Property is gorgeous and hotel is great. Several restaurants on site. Some can be quite pricey. Nice to sit outside at their grill and watch the sunset.

Pool is very large and heated. Was awesome to hang out in at night. Several hottubs around the outside of the pool.

We only left the hotel property once. That was to go to a comedy show.

We chose our destination and then sought the help of trip advisor selecting our accomodations. We were very pleased with our results! The Marriott's service at Marco Island was truly EXCELLENT! They go above and beyond to make certain their guests are satisfied! The resort itself is beautiful and very family-friendly. We have high expectations when traveling and the Marriott @ Marco Island met and exceeded them all.

This resort was beautiful and had all you would want for family to be happy. It was very expensive though. Tropics restaurant and the pizza place were the best deals and great food. Kurrants was way to expensive for the serving sizes. The beach was beautiful and the sand castle workshop was the best experience ever for our family. The sail and shelling was o.k. The captain was very nice but it was costly and no much shells that were found - ordinary. Have found much better walking on the beach in Ft Myers and at times in Hilton Head area SC. The pool side service was great and we enjoyed that. Staff was always helpful and polite. If you decide to go seek wildlife, DO NOT DO THE AIR BOAT RIDES. This was recommended at the hotel. You will not see any wildlife. The boats scare them I am sure and it is horrible for the wildlife. It is like an amusement park ride, so don't think you will see lots of alligators and birds. If you just go towards Miami about 5 minutes from where all the airboat rides are, you will be at the national park and you will see MANY MANY ALLIGATORS AND OTHER BIRDS,ETC. FOR FREE!!!! We felt very misinformed about this. I am sure the hotel gets a cut from Speedy Johnson's, b/c they recommend it. If you do decide to do an airport ride, please know that they are all the same and use the same water to speed by and the 1 alligator we saw at the end when the driver said we would see it very well may have been tied up. The national park was great and we only wish we had had more time to explore. The park ranger was very informative. There are activities that can be done there - all free and much much better to learn about the Everglades and the habitat and how we all can help save it and many animals there from dying off. We did however love the Marriott resort and would return, and would spend more time in the national park and a visit to the Key's. We would choose certain restaurants though to not overspend where the products were not worth it. Tropiks by far was the best deal!

Had a great, peaceful vacation/stay at the Marco Island Marriott the week before and into Christmas. We stayed on Marriott reward points and was upgraded to a pool/ocean view on a high floor. The rooms are standard Marriott décor and bed is good. Desk was very nice for working as it rotates so you can work and easily watch tv. Each room has a nice balcony with two chairs and a small table that was nice to relax and have a drink.

Service – We didn’t have any major issues with the service – housekeeping was regular, quick and thorough but did seem to forget to refresh the coffee but a call down and we got what we needed. We did have an incident with a Christmas package being sent and rejected but more due to the room not showing both our names.

Dinning - Service and the food at Kurrents, Tropics and 400 was all good and we used all several times during our visit. Quinn’s on the other hand was terrible service – barely spoke or understood English and food was fair at best. We also had dinner at the Rookery Steakhouse over at the Golf course and it was excellent both food and service.

Activities – The concierge was helpful and the hotel had lots of activities over the holidays. Highly recommend the Sailing and Shelling trip by the hotel, Capt Tom was great and look forward to reading his book. Also did the Jetski and had a great time. If you are on a longer trip you may want to look at a day trip or overnight down to Key West, there is ferry service from Marco or Fort Myers to Key West.

Marco Island is not Orlando by any means but a great location to spend a quiet vacation in the warmth and we would recommend and go back for sure.

Stayed eight nights until January 6th. Phenomenal setting on the beach, an overall upscale hotel that has undergone a huge modernization lately. Fantastic rooms, fantastic beach, a great spot for a family getaway.

Unfortunately, the service is not as upscale as the rest, thus I had to take one mark off. The service in the f+b is mediocre at best (they sometimes added 20% gratuity automatically )-:), and housekeeping did not manage to repair our room door, that was rattling in the frame - after two phone calls and no apparent attempt to solve the problem I decided to muffle the sound with a towel at night - kind of worked. Beach service was impeccable. Prices at the resort, i.e. parking (20 bucks a day for valet) are in my opinion a bit stiff.

Overall still a great place.

Stayed there for a family wedding, the last week of December. Weather was perfect. this is a medium size property with two towers on the beach. Rooms and hotel is kept very clean. This place is not cheap though. Breakfast Bar is $21 per person, lunch is just as expensive. I bought two strawberry daqs and they were $11.00 each
Overall, its a very well kept property, and you would enjoy

I visited the Marco Island Marriot for a wedding in December 2008. While the property is nice looking (clean beach, landscaping, etc.) and overall fairly clean, it is far too overpriced for what you get and is very isolated. While we had a rate of $190/night for the wedding party, others staying there were paying well over $250.

Our problems began at the beginning of our trip. Having never been to this part of Florida, we were unaware of how far away the hotel was to the nearest major airport (Fort Myers). If you are arriving late, you must arrange for a taxi ahead of time to take you to the island, as none of the local cabs want to go that far out of their way. There is no airport shuttle for this hotel. The 1 hour+ ride will set you back about $90. You are best off renting a car for your stay, as there is no way on or off the island without one.

The first room we checked into was a handicapped room with no closets. As we had our party dresses, there was nowhere to hang them. Additionally, the room was dark, damp, unclean, smelled like garlic, and there was no view. We went back to the desk to only be informed that there were no rooms available (in a hotel with over 700 rooms and during the slow season, I find that hard to believe). However, in the morning, they changed our room to one that was much more acceptable, with a closet, view and balcony.

There is one restaurant that serves breakfast called Tropiks. While the food (particularly the fresh-squeezed orange juice) is good, the prices are astronomical ($19.95 for a buffet). Having no other option except a small coffee bar, we decided to stay and eat and pay the price. In terms of the wedding catering, we found the food to be mediocre and the staff takes away your drinks and dishes too fast. if you get up to dance, you will find your plate and glass taken away. If you want more food, well, the buffet was packed up early. The staff seemed rushed and the food stone-cold. The choices at the bar were limited. I would not recommend the catering.

If the weather is nice and you are able to use the beach and pool, this is a fine hotel to stay at. Both are very clean and nice and the pools are heated. However, if it is windy, cold or inclement weather, you are at a loss over what to do. There are no other amenities except an overpriced spa. Without a car, you are trapped at the resort. Even with a car, Naples is about 40 minutes away. There is not much to do there either, and the prices are also high. The small outlet center just over the Marco Island bridge is terrible, don't waste your time. Drive up to Fort Myers if you want to shop. Even with a car on Marco Island, it is very residential and there aren't many restaurants or things to do.

Probably the most disturbing part of our trip was the fire alarm going off on the day of the wedding at 5:30 AM. The entire hotel piled out onto the premises. No announcements were made. No information was disseminated. We worked our way to the lobby where we overheard someone at the desk said a sprinkler in the spa went off. The entire situation was unsafe. Hundreds of people were milling about in the night not knowing what was going on. Some people panicked and were pushing in the stairwells. It was a major safety hazard. The hotel management should be reprimanded for this and be cited by the local fire authorities on this violation.

If you are looking for a quiet Florida getaway, look elsewhere. The hotel has minimal amenities and as packed with conventions and weddings. If you are looking to veg out by the pool and the weather is good, then this is an okay place for you. My advice is to just go somewhere else.
