“Helpful Tips for Marco Island Marriott”
Reviewed July 14, 2014

I have stayed here multiple times. Here are some tips to help you:
1) Location: it's pretty much in the center of Marco Island so you'll be amidst a variety of things to do and places to eat
2) Beach/Pool: what sets this place apart from other hotels on the island is the combination of TWO truly resort style main pools (with lots of fun stuff for kids and adults to enjoy) AND the fact that it is right on the beach. You can easily walk to the beach from your room and you will probably enjoy a great view of the gulf from your room as well.
3) Rooms: ample space inside. good size balcony to enjoy. fridge in room. flat screen tv. tasteful, updated decor. what you would expect in a 5-star resort
4) 8 different restaurants onsite (including sushi) and a variety of shops
5) spa on the property with a variety of treatments available
6) loads of daily activities for kids and adults to enjoy right on property
7) it's great for conferences (which is why I visit each year) and also for weddings
8) parking/fees: you can self park for only $12/day which is pretty good however there is the dreaded 'daily resort fee' that you seem to find everywhere these days and you do have to pay for internet ($10-17/day)

Bottom line: personally I think it's the best tourist hotel on Marco. I have stayed her for years and plan to continue to come back.

Room Tip: ask for ocean view, upper floor so you can see the gulf the best

Marco Island Marriott Resort is a wonderful place to stay for the entire family. The hotel is great the service is excellent and the location is amazing. The hotel is right on the beach so you can walk to your room when your day is over. Well worth money. The only downside is that Marco Island is a little boring at night, there are not many restaurants nearby.

We stayed two nights at this hotel , the beach and facilities are wonderful , there is a lot you can do and relax with all the spa treatments but this compared to the family vacation is much more expensive , so I would suggest this for couples only and not as a family vacation as prices are very high but if you can afford it the place is highly recommended.

We stayed at this beautiful Marco Island Marriott Resort in June 2013, and absolutely LOVED IT!!! The hotel staff was very friendly and professional. Our room was absolutely beautiful, and we had a gorgeous view of the beach from our balcony. The sand on the beach is almost baby powder soft. The hotel rented lounge chairs, umbrellas, and cabanas, which made it very nice, if you like a little shade. We ate dinner at one of the restaurants, located right on the beach. The food was good and the ocean view was breathtaking. The resort is located within walking distance of a very nice movie theater that is a full service restaurant. You can watch a movie while enjoying your lunch or dinner. This resort was AWSOME!! Marco Island is beautiful.

My husband and I read about Marco Island in our hometown newspaper, and decided t spend our anniversary here. It was our 27th, and we were traveling alone. We had a fantastic room (626), which overlooked the ocean. Our first room looked over the pool, and we could hear the kids at the pool, so asked to be moved.
This resort is so well maintained, and all of the employees are extremely nice and helpful with anything!!
Also, the property is so clean. It is a very busy property, and we would really like to bring the grandkids here when we have them!

Beautiful grounds, gorgeous hotel, spacious beach at tour "fingertips, " and spectacular sunsets. Only problem - it is a bit expensive. But to offset that, I must say the food was excellent and the service was wonderful. I loved my stay.

We have been to this Marriott property before, and though the prices have gone up (and the upgrades become more restrictive, it's always a good time.

Basically there are two "towers." South Tower is the older one (all have been updated, this part of the building is just older). It sits between the two pools (both are family, but the "Tiki Pool" is more kid oriented). The North Tower is the newer and quieter one, and you should seek it out for the quiet, though soundproofing is very capable.

Food is decent, and there are a few restaurants on property, but be prepared to pay high prices, even for simple things ($3.00 for a small carton of milk, $12 for alcoholic beverage). Many (most) people will head out to Publix and buy snacks and other staples to bring in. The hotel does not restrict this, and there is a small fridge in every room (a 24+ case of water is a necessity... you do NOT want to pay for water every time!). We even bought wine and had our drinks in hand when heading down for the evening.

Beach is very, very nice. But when we were there, the property was just changing policies. As of July 08, 2014, there is now a "Resort Charge" of $25 per day. But this charge gets you one beach umbrella (which used to cost the same $25), plus some time on non-motorized beach toys (like pedal boats, etc.). Again, people were (do) find ways to bring things in... we bought a beach umbrella at Publix for $12, and another at CVS for $24. But had we not done this, we would have been spending $25 a day for one umbrella (very steep). Maybe that's why they changed the policy.

Desk and staff are all very friendly, and helpful. Last bit of money saving can be don by self parking. It's all of $12 a day, and the lot is right across the street.

NOTE: May through July 2015 the resort is planning to CLOSE for a major upgrade (adding more rooms, more parking, etc.). Yes, it's a long process, and after those 3 months, the remaining update will run the rest of the year (and more). Details on the process are at: http://www.good4marco.com

Room Tip: North Tower, facing north (to the gulf) are best for quiet. Rooms facing either pool are also good...
