“Mother/Daughter trip for Mother's Day 2014”
Reviewed May 14, 2014

We love Marriott's and this one was top of the line. The hotel was excellent, service top notch, the beach was beautiful. Wide sandy beaches that went on forever. 5 restaurants to choose from. We only tried the beach one, it was tasty. I thought the resort charged alot for all the extras. $25.00/day for chairs, 12.50/day for parking and on and on. The resort was huge with beautiful pools. I, personally, like a smaller more intimate place, but I couldn't complain either because this place was so nice! We went up to Sanibel Island for the day to see on the shells on the beaches. That was a fun day trip. We had lunch for Mother's Day at the Island Cow on Sanibel. It was a neat place with good food. We went on the Marco Island Princess for a sunset dinner cruise. We loved it. Food and sunset was fabulous. Overall the vacation was great. Nice Island, Nice hotel.

This was our first visit to Marco Island and to this Marriott. We were extremely pleased with the property and all its wonderful amenities. Felt like we were in the Caribbean without leaving the States! The staff was friendly and accommodating. As a Platinum member with Marriott, we were given an upgraded room with a beautiful view of the beach on the 10th floor. The only thing missing was a concierge lounge. Other than that, we would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I went to Marco Island for a long weekend. We needed to be near Naples as he had a business meeting and that was why we choose this hotel. I have to say I was pleasently surprised! It was beautiful and we had amazing service. The beach was perfect and we rented a hut for the afternoon. We ate 3 of the resturants on the property and everything was very good and the service was above expectations. I would recommed spending extra and getting a ocean front view room as our patio was just awesome. The view is to die for! It was just after Easter and alot of families from up North were on spring break so the pool was super packed with kids so we stuck to the beach. However the spa has an adults only pool you can use if you are getting spa services. The staff mentioned it is not usually that full of children and families. I am not complaining but it was alot of kids...like alot! I have seen less kids at Disney.

Room Tip: Spend extra and get ocean view

Was pretty happy about this resort. Not a 5 STAR resort but location is everything and it's right on the beach with plenty of pools, food, bars and activities. Service was top notch...that is worth it all as well. The rooms were nice, normal Marriott. But we thoroughly enjoyed the views, extras and the staff (beach hut just average staff but kids/young adults there so normal service level). We parasailed and had an AMAZING first experience. Our friends stayed and our about as high up in the Marriott Rewards program as you can go. They have stayed tons of times and always get upgraded but not this time. Marriott manages this property and no longer owns it so just a pointer for those expecting extra special treatment from their Rewards level. :-)

Room Tip: closer to lobby area, ocean view; tower further from lobby (by spa) is quite a hike to beach, pools...

I was raised on the Oregon west coast where going to the beach meant sweatshirts, ice chests, hot dogs and smores. My recent 3 night stay at the Marco Island Marriott Resort was nothing like that! Although I much prefer the surf of the Oregon Beach - everyone needs to experience a little luxury from time to time. That is what this resort is all about. The accommodations where very nice and the food was EXCELLENT! We ate at all the resort restaurants and were not disappointed. The room is spacious and well appointed and we had a great ocean view on the 10th floor. The staff was always pleasant and helpful. I can't give 5 stars because the resort (like almost any place) has a few opportunities for improvement. Our tub had rust spots, thin enamel and was sunken in one spot. I expected nicer towels - they were not very large or plush. Our room was not cleaned by 3:30 pm on our second day and we had to call to get fresh towels and the trash empty, we had a long walk from our room to anywhere else in the resort - but that is pretty much the only negative I can say. We truly enjoyed our stay and felt very pampered while we were there. There was so much to do that I almost felt tired when I returned home - but it was a GREAT tired!

Room Tip: Ask for a room towards the center of the hotel where all the restaurants/bars and pools are.
