This is a great resort. We visited during spring break, there were many families. It was busy, yet the resort has so much to offer, everything is available without a wait. You can enjoy the beach or the pools or participate in many of the activities offered. They also have a children camp, it is costly, but seems the kids have a lot of fun. The Marriott Hotels never disappoint, this is one of their best resorts. It has something for everyone... It is also a convention hotel. There are plenty of restaurants on property or you can walk to a few.

I spent a week at this resort in a standard double queen room. The room had a balcony that is rounded outside your door so that even on the side of the building you had views of the Ocean.
The room had a very large hanging closet and a very large dresser for plenty of lay flat clothes.
The desk work area is what you would expect with a desk and comfortable chair and nice outlets for your plug ins. The bed is very comfortable and the pillows are very comfortable. The bathroom is well appointed with granite and the standard items you would expect. The hotel is equipped with several banks of elevators and they all offered good speed so you were not waiting. The best part of this resort is the grounds, pool and beach area. The resort has several pools and hot tubs. They are all surrounded by fantastic gardens on one side and you feel secluded. On the other side of the resort is a huge pool with hundreds of chaise lounge chairs around it. Access to the pools and grounds is controlled by hotel personnel. Beyond the gated pools is a huge beach that has enough room for an army. There was NEVER a day that the beach was over crowed. I ate at the restaurants and the food was excellent each time and no mater what the entrée. The bar in the hotel is really large and accommodates a lot of people. It also has a really neat large circular salt water fish tank in it. This resort was excellent and kids of all ages would also enjoy it. As for the staff and I ran across dozens of them while I was there; each and every one was nice and engaging. It was a very pleasant surprise. This hotel is managed very well and it is apparent.
The cab ride to the hotel from Fort Myer Airport was a little lengthy as it took about one hour.
Just a note that there is nothing within walking distance outside of the hotel, but a cab will drive you to and from the marina and shopping areas for $6.00 and the cabs were always very close and never had to wait long. This is my second stay and I will definitely return.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 4th floor or higher so that you can look over the trees and have a clear visio...

Everything we experienced at the Marco Island Marriott exceeded our expectations, and we are regular Marriott users. The property is very beautiful and all facilities are well-maintained. We did not have a car, and although we thought that could be a problem, it was not; there are many things to do at the resort, the selection of restaurants on property are good, and there are numerous restaurants within easy walking distance. We will definitely be back.

Room Tip: We had a corner room on the 8th floor overlooking the street and the tennis courts across the street...

Great service, super friendly staff. Lots of security over Spring Break which was wonderful. Lots of families. Did shelling cruise, para-sailing and Speedy's Everglade tour, all hotel recommended. Felt like Hawaii without the plane ride.

This was our 2nd time staying at the Marco Island Marriott. First time was a nice stay although we did have some issues with the restaurants. Service at Quinn's, the beachside bar/restaurant was embarrassingly slow. First time we were there it took 15 minutes for anyone to recognize us, over 45 minutes to receive our food and another 10 minutes to receive our bill after we asked for it. 2nd night we decided to eat at the pizza/pasta place. It was arguably the worst pizza we've ever had. It was burnt to a crisp and just bad. We also ordered a children's pasta for our 2 year old of which my wife said tasted like vomit. Literally.

With that said, we should have taken those hints and booked elsewhere for this vacation, however, we chose to come back as the grounds and room are very nice.

Now, for this trip, we've been here one day and have experienced the following issues:

1) The self-park area across the street is ridiculous. If your idea of driving around a parking lot endlessly looking for a parking space on your valuable vacation time, go for it. Otherwise, pay the extra money to valet. Parking in their self park area is like parking at Wally World. What a joke.

2) We have a 7 year old and a 2 year old on vacation with us. We called the front desk and asked for linens for the roll-away bed and crib. Waited 45 minutes before calling again. 2nd call, waited another 30 minutes, then finally called a 3rd time, now noticeably angry and finally someone arrives with bed sheets and pillows 10 minutes later.

3) My wife ordered room service while my son and I were at the pool. Room service employee comes to room and exclaims to my wife, "oh I see you are expecting another child". Now, my wife isn't pregnant and was obviously completely offended by this comment. She's a beautiful woman and has a very, small "pooch" from our last child that she has been working diligently to get rid of. I mean who says that to another person? Get real.

4) My son and I go down to play ping pong tonight. He was really excited to play and it was after his normal bed time which added to his excitement. We show up at the ping pong tables and there are no racquets and only one ball. The other ball was all crumbled up. No big deal I think, so I head to the front desk to see if they can bring additional racquets and balls out. Front desk person calls the "activity" person and asks them to meet us. We go back down to the tables and wait and wait and wait. Nobody shows. I ask another worker walking by if he could help us and he said he'd look for the "activity" person and to give him a few minutes. We wait another 10 minutes and he doesn't show up. Just disappears. Normally, I just throw in the towel as it's only ping-pong but now I'm just perturbed as my 7-year old son has now been effected so I trot back to the front desk. Front desk person calls a manager and ensures me that "now that there is a manager involved" they will definitely show up. Guess what? Nobody shows up again...for the third time. This is almost laughable. It's only ping-pong, but come on now.

Anyway, the service at this hotel is eye-opening bad. The resort itself is pretty and they have a great location on Marco Island. The beaches are beautiful here. However, for what you are required to pay to stay here it ISN'T WORTH IT.

Feel free to send me a message and I can recommend several other hotel / resorts in the Marco / Naples area that are in the same price range and blow this resort out of the water.

Great location. We had a terrific view of the beach from our room. The resort is beautiful.

The beach is incredible. The sand is very white and feels like powdered sugar, similar to the sand in Aruba.

Nice sized rooms. Comfortable beds with good linens. The hotel is very clean inside and out.

The staff was friendly and helpful.

My only complaint would be that there should be an "adults only" pool. During the week it was fine but Friday the resort was invaded by screaming kids. They were everywhere, including both of the pools and the Jacuzzi.

There are a couple of shops and restaurants within walking distance if you are looking for something outside of the resort.

This was the best vacation place I've ever been to. The water was warm, the service was great, they brought chairs to you on the beach and were very kind in the lobby upon arrival. They had delicious restaurants for every meal with a big menu, and the shops were great and had everything you would need between sunscreen, aloe, snorkels, footballs for the beach, and souvenirs. I had a great time. Keep up the good work marriot!
