I recently stayed at the resort with my wife and daughter. The beach is beautiful, real wide with white sand, the hotel itself was not to our expectations, being big Marriott fans and owning two Marriott timeshares, we cannot understand how it's rated a category 8, it's more like a 6 or 7. The room was not exceptional, the bathroom was small with a commode and tub and a sink and mirror outside, not luxurious. The housekeeping was lax, we would leave the room usually at 8AM and come back around 3 and the room would not be made up, one time after cleaning they left no towels, also no turn down service. The pool loungers were usually all taken early in the morning, parents and kids would hog the chairs all day long, even though they were not there. Self parking across the street was $12 day, valet parking $22 day, beach umbrellas were $20 day. We never had this experience before in a high end hotel. The buffet breakfast was excellent, the staff and cooks very friendly and helpful. We also ate several times at the beach grill and pizza restaurant which which were very good.

This is the second time we have stayed here and this a fabulous resort. We have two young children aged 3 and 6 and they have pool slide and games to keep them occupied. The resort is well maintained and staff always seem to greet you and try to do their best.

The location is great and the beach is picture perfect. The waters are calm so kids can enjoy the ocean. There is no charge for beach chairs/ loungers and there is an abundance of them. The pools are great and they offer multiple hot tubs through the resort so they do not get over loaded.

The food can be a tad expensive but they do try to offer value through drinks refills and family value meals in certain places.

The Hotel is spotless and nothing is too much for them. keep up the good work.

I will be back again.

This is my favorite Marriott hotel in the state of Florida. Marco Island is a great family destination and this hotel is the perfect beach resort to experience the area. It is the perfect destination for a family vacation or a romantic retreat. They have very good restaurants, championship golf course, a great spa and fitness facility, a free-form fantasy pool with views of the Florida Gulf. The sunsets are amazing in the Gulf coast. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for an ocean view.

Our family stayed there just a week ago (mom, dad, and two teenagers). It was our first trip to this Marriott as well as our first trip to the gulf side of Florida.

Customer Service - by far the best customer service we've received at any resort - and we've stayed at a lot of places. Throughout our whole stay, any staff that we passed always acknowledged us with a friendly "hello" or "good morning". The waitstaff, folks in Illy cafe, stores, and beach attendants were always friendly and courteous. Their name tags indicate where they're from (like Disney World) and it was fun to talk to people about their hometown.

Room / Grounds - we had a gulf view room on the fourth floor in the Palms tower (a bit of a walk from the lobby, but manageable). It was very spacious for the four of us for the amount of time we were in it. I liked that the toilet and shower were separated from the vanity area. The room was very clean and the daily maid service was prompt and effective. There are very few places I've been to where I would walk around barefoot in the room. I'm happy to say that this was one of them. I found the entire grounds to be clean and well kept. Off season at any resort equals construction, but I didn't find it to be too instrusive. The resort asks you to close your room blinds by 9pm for the benefit of the sea turtles that are nesting in the area.

Food - great food at Quinns, Illy, and Pazzi's and the prices are comparable to any other resort. Because the food was so good (and well presented by attentive waitstaff with great views of the ocean and grounds), it was well worth the price. We never had to wait for a table. Illy Cafe was great for morning coffee and a danish, muffin, bagel, etc. The outside seating was convenient and overlooked the pool and tropical foliage with the ocean in the distance. Quinns has the best chicken wings and burgers we've ever had and the pizza at Pazzi's was great. We did go to the breakfast buffet one day at Tropiks but that ended up being pricey for the amount we ate (over $100 for the four of us) and the stations were always crowed with inconsiderate guests. The best thing was the fresh orange juice. It was better to grab something quick in the morning at Illy's and have lunch at Quinn's or Pazzi's. We did not eat at the "expensive" restaurants on site. There are plenty of places in town to explore but you really wouldn't ever need to leave the resort.

Pool and Beach - huge white sand beach with plenty of room. The staff works hard to set up chairs (complimentary) and umbrellas ($20 charge). I was amazed and disappointed over the number people we watched who didn't tip the attendant for this service! You need to step lightly over the short barrier of crushed shells to get to the water but once you do, it's nice and soft. Because we spent most of the time at the beach, we didn't use the pool too much. If we went later in the day it was just for a quick swim and we either left our towels near the edge or shared a chair. All hotels have that population of guests that "save" chairs for the day. Finding a chair wasn't a problem later in the day. Drink service on the beach from Quinns needs improvement. One person would drive a cart around taking an order or two at a time. If frozens drinks or food were ordered, the person would need to drive back to Quinns to fetch them and since there was no "marking" of who placed the order, often times the staff would come back and approach people in the general area and say "did you order drinks?". The process seems ineffective and understaffed. The pool chairs have flip up flags on them to indicate you're looking to order. We did not use this service during our stay.

We splurged for the Wave Runner tour through the islands by the Marco Island Water Sport group. A true convenience to have that feature right on the hotel grounds. There are other water sport features like parasailing, kayaks, paddle boards and water hammocks. The guys who worked there have a great sense of humor and were very knowledgeable about the area and sea life. In addition to the thrill of driving the wave runners, there were points where we'd stop and watch the dolphins that were "playing" near us.

We also splurged for the photo session on the grounds. Pricey, but good quality pictures. Sessions can be done at different times throughout the day. We did the pre-sunset session at various spots around the resort. If you want a picture of the entire family at sunset, there are plenty of other people doing the same thing and most were happy to take pictures for each other.

It is a great place of families of all ages so if you don't like kids, you might want to stay somewhere else. I would go back either with the family or just the two of us.

My only dig, and this goes for every resort we've stayed at, is - just include the wi-fi and umbrella in the room charge.

The town itself is clean, easy to navigate, and comfortable. Beach stores, pharmacies and grocery stores are all close by.

Loved this resort! I would go back in a heart beat!

Let's start off by giving the front desk employee Rachel a shout out! She was wonderful! She made me feel at home and when I checked out, I was actually sad we were leaving because she was so nice! It's great to have a hotel with employees that care. The employees are really the #1 reason why I will go back to a hotel again and again!

Bravo Rachel!!!

The hotel was marvelous!

The rooms were big and spacious, the views were spectacular and the pool was breathtaking! The only complaint I have was that I wish the pool were open longer! I didn't want to leave!!

The on site dining was a bit I we priced, but we had a $100 credit so we didn't care too much..

We ate at their high end restaurant, kurrents. The food was fantastic! The decor was not. If I were the hotel staff, I would definitely reconsider redesigning the decor To match the rest of the hotel! It put a small damper on our meal...

All in all, the staff was the main reason I would go back here! They made me feel warm and like I was home!

There is nothing bad to say about the Marco Island Marriott. We have been over 5 times and every time has been perfect. The pools are great, the kiddie pool is perfect for our 2 year old. The rooms are beautiful and amazing views from everywhere. We love Quinn's for sunset and drinks. Can't wait for our next trip!

My husband and I visited for the first time and stayed for four nights. We loved every minute and we are already talking about planning another visit. We had a room on the 6th floor of the Island Tower; beautiful view from our balcony and the room was clean and very comfortable. We had a small fridge in the room and wish we had a small microwave as well but we did without. Yes the food and drinks are a bit pricey but it is a resort and we were not that surprised; we ate on site a few times and drove to town for other meals. Our favorite part was the beach; beautiful sandy beach, nice clear water just at the right temperature ......heaven! Every employee that we spoke to or even just walked by, was very friendly and attentive. Overall, a fabulous resort and we would not hesitate to go back,
