“Wonderful Valentines Weekend”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 19, 2013

Just returned home from a 2 night Valentine stay at the Marco Island Marriott. Can't say one bad thing about this resort! It rained most of the time we were there, but no one can control the weather. Despite the rain we found plenty of things to do around the resort (eat, drink, shop). Our gulf front room was unbelievably huge with a wrap around balcony facing both the gulf (couldve thrown a rock to the sand) as well as one of the gorgeous pools (on the side). The grounds are stunning and very well maintained. Food and drinks were amazing (a little pricey though) and easily attained. We ate at Quinns as well as Kurrents. The in house reservation staff was beyond helpful and knows the hotel very well (tried making reservations through 800# and it was a disaster). I also must say the valet guys are amazing considering the small amount of drive space they have to work with getting lots of cars in and out. All around great stay and can't wait to go back!!

Room Tip: Corner gulf front rooms have large wrap around balconies offering more views. Room 767 is gorgeous.

As soon as you walk through the entrance you are greeted by the sweet smell of roses (its in the a/c vents) and also by a very friendly staff.
The hotel is very nicely maintained and the rooms are comfortable. The staff at the reception was great at accommodating our requests and was able to get us a beach view room if we opted to wait for it to be cleaned. They arranged to hold our luggage and we got a very comfortably sized room with a beach view.
We only ate at one restaurant, which was for the breakfast buffet. We did walk around the buffet and it looked excellent - everything was nicely presented and the food was nicely arranged and looked very delicious. They offered 2 types of buffet, the healthy choice and the regular type foods like order your own omelets, etc. We can't eat that much anymore so we ordered from the menu. We shared a Farmers omelette which was excellent - served with hash browns, a beautifully grilled tomato wedge with pesto sauce and thickly sliced wheat bread and the waitress had the breakfast split into to plates for us. The service was great.
The hotel has 2 pools and the temperature was a constant 86 degrees. The beach is wonderful. The compacted flour-like sand was wonderful to walk barefoot on and the beach is lively.
Great sunsets!
We walked into the spa and looked into it and the prices were average for a hotel and unfortunately we did not have time to use the facility but we definitely will next time.
I would not hesitate to stay here.

Room Tip: Always request a beach view. The sunsets from your balcony are breath taking!

We had a quick winter getaway and loved our 4 nights at the Marco Island Marriott. The hotel, rooms, and property were beautiful and exceptionally clean. The food was quite good all around - about as expensive as expected - from lunch at the poolside restaurants to nice dinner at Kurrents; Sandwiches and soup at 400 Pazzi's were surprisingly good. The staff were very courteous, responsive, and helpful. It was windy and a bit cooler than normal, so the pools were fortunately very clean and warmed to a nice temperature.

Stayed two nights Presidents Weekend - understandably the hotel was packed. Service was efficient at the front desk. We did request a late check out as a platinum member and were advised the latest check out we could get is 1pm due to hotel being full. I did not think that was totally fair since we have been loyal to Marriott brand.

The hotel itself is beautifully maintained from the grounds to the restaurants and spa - just gorgeous. Stepping outside onto beach is so relaxing with the tiki bar and waterfall pool.
We had drinks at Quinn's Pool and Brad the bartender was very accomodating.
The gym was clean and well equiped for your workout.

Traveling as a couple, we wanted more private pool w/o kids as we found both pools had no lounge chairs left by 11am-so we paid $35 pp for day pass to spa -the facilities are over the top with nice amenities (fresh cucumber with cold towels coming out of jacuzzi)- the attendents offered you chocolate covered blueberries, towel srv & food srv was great. Spa had outside plunge pool with hot tub overlooking beach- played relaxing spa music and you could really chill out peacefully.

Restaurants were good, there are so many decent restaurants in the area- you should really drive around to see the island.

Spent 5 days at the Marriott Resort in Marco Island, Fl and it was the best hotel I have ever stayed at. Staff was gracious and so helpful. Everything was well taken care of from food to the beach. I would recommend staying here very highly.

Room Tip: Booked a room facing the ocean with a balcony. We loved sitting and relaxing while watching the sun...

Spent 4 nights here. Arrived to a chaotic lobby. We are platinum members and supposed to have gulf front room but they made an "error" and gave us a gulf view instead with the option to move to a gulf front after 2 nights. The gulf view room was in the Palms Tower. Room was ok but hallway was dirty with torn carpeting. Saturday moved to a gulf front room in the Islands Tower. Room was more modern/new but water pressure terrible and wouldn't stay hot. Also put us next to a noisy family... Running, screaming (including parents) beginning at 6 am. When asked front desk to address noise issue they did nothing! This property is more family than couple... Be warned if you're coming for a relaxing getaway.

Just returned from the MI Marriott. Gorgeous grounds, wide sandy beach and clean pools. The beds need upgrading but otherwise we loved everything about our stay. The food was good and reasonably priced for a hotel; drinks were spendy but tasty. Service was good across the board and despite being a busy hotel, you had plenty of room and it was easy to find a spot at the pools or beach. We'll definitely go back - great for kids with Tiki Tribe activities and pools, great for adults with food, drinks, sunsets, etc!
