“Family friendly great pools beachfront hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 9, 2013

Kids loved the Tiki pool, which has a waterslide, zero entry area, beautiful waterfalls and tropical poolscaping. New moms: There is a separate baby pool with the best view right at the edge of the beach! Listening to Toots & the Maytals on the sound system while sipping a pineapple rum drink and watching the kids splash around in 80 degrees in January - thumbs up. The sand at their beach is like powdered sugar. Room was nice, restaurants have high resort prices but that's to be expected, Kurrents had excellent food and was surprisingly family friendly. Great service with a smile from the bellhop to checkout, particularly Hilda at Tropix breakfast dining room. Marco Island is very civilized with lots of options for dining, shopping, wildlife boat tours and boat rentals. It's a bit manicured but you are right at the edge of the Everglades. We shall return.

Room Tip: Ask about the 1 bedroom lanai suites with direct access to the pool.

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in December. Location is great. We stayed on the 3rd floor overlooking the beach and the pool. Room was clean and bed was comfortable.

My only complaints are: wireless connection is not free, parking and food are expensive, and elevator wait is annoyingly long most of the times.

Overall, stay was good.

The Marriott on Marco is a beautiful property and top notch in all areas. There are plenty of activities for all ages. The staff is extremely welcoming and helpful. Highly recommend staying at this hotel.

My family of 5 adults and 2 grandkids (15mo and 5 yrs.) just spent 6 nights at the hotel. We had a 4th floor 2 bedroom (plus murphy bed), 3 full bath, Suite overlooking the pool and ocean. The family said this was the best hotel I have ever rented for them. That is saying something as we have been all over Florida, Caribbean, and Hawaii and stayed in many very nice hotels and beach resorts.

The room was very clean upon arrival and check in was fast and easy. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Numerous restaurants to choose from. We ate at Quinn's several times for lunch and did room service and tropics for breakfast a time or two. We found the quality to be good. We also ate off property numerous times and each time found very good places to eat, several within walking distance.

Two Large pools are heated to 85-86 so that was great for the grandkids! Pools were also very clean and towels were always available. Also hot-tubs located by the pool were nice. The line forms around 7.15 for the pool opening at 8am and chairs were hard to come by at the pool. My only complaint was that I thought the pool staff should enforce the rule if your chair is empty for an hour you lose it. Instead we set set up camp daily at the beach which was also very clean and very big. Chairs were easy to get and then we just went from our spot on the beach to the pool so really no big deal.

Tons of activities available from volleyball, sandcastles building contests, beach bungie jump and zip line for kids. Hobie cats, wave runners, parasailing, boat trips, shelling were available. We did the wave runners which was a blast! They also had a kids club but we did not use it. Ladies used the Spa one day and had a great massage and relaxing time!

One day we went for a Airboat ride in the Everglades. Tons of fun if you have never done that. We also rented bikes one morning and rode around and then found a lunch spot on the water by one of the marinas. Most of our time was spent at the beach and pool, playing in the water, looking for shells and drinking tropical drinks! Girls liked the Pina's and I went for the dirty banana!

All in all a fantastic hotel with great pools, beach, and amenities! I highly recommend this hotel!

We stayed at the Marriott for Christmas week using our Marriott points. By doing so, we were entitled to a room but not a great view. Kinisha (?) checked us in and offerred to upgrade us for a fee but we declined. She managed to find us a lovely big room with a partial view of the gulf. We were delighted with the comfort and quiet all week. There were several families with loud children around but the noise was usually confined to the morning pre-pool hours. There was a superb little coffee shop on site where we got coffee each morning to drink on our balcony. Kurrents, the more formal of the restaurants, was incredible. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Beach towels were clean and in good repair as were the free chairs. It was truly a great place to spend Christmas.

Wow i just got back from my weekend get away with my husband on 12/7-12/9/12 at this beautiful property. Before going i must have read over 500 reviews on tripadvisor to make sure i was going to a great location, and let me tell you it was a fabulous hotel to be at. Check in & c/o was great, i was asst by this wonderful young lady who's name start with a " k"(kianata) shes african american i wrote her name down somewhere, after chekin out i called and spoke to the hotel MoD to tell her how great of an employee she was.. 1st off after reading so much reviews (thank you TA) i already knew ahead of time where the self parking was located, but what i didn't know was i could have driven up to the resort 1st to empty out or bags then go park. it would have been much sampler to unload then go park verses carrying and pulling our bags across the street. The 2nd thing i notice was how much of a rip off the "Quin" restuarant was; after checking in to the resort my husband and i decided to drive around to locate some of the spots that was mention on trip advisor, we went to a walgreens wish was 5mins away to pick up sme snacks & drinks it just so happend they had the arizona ice tea 3 for $1 so my husband and i loaded up on them we brought 6 for $2 so later on that day we went to go have a late dinner at "Quinn" to check out theire menu and so we took a look at the drink section which was pretty short and i ordered this wetermelon slush drink ($ 6) which was awsaome and my husband oredered a rasberry ice tea for ($3.50 or smthing like that) guest what the waitress brought my husband for his $? yep a "Arizona ice tea" i was like OMG! we just brouhgt all those ice tea, they didn't even disguise it it they even place the can on the table, smh. We loved the adult pool we wish we could have gotten in the jacuzzi but it was so small everytime we go there some other couple was already in. Fyi don't let that beautiful beach full you unless you like swimming in freezing water i had wondered why everyone was sun bathing verses in the water so i went to find out & let me tell you i got a run for my $ i'm from miami where the water is nice, plus the water only which your ankles so forget abt the beach. The hotel itself was really nice, nice scenery nicely decorated for christmast, but at night after 11pm unless you a drinker at the lobby bar or have an event there then everyone is in there rooms doing twhat they do. We tried walking around the beach around 8pm one night & it was so dark we had to use our cell for light and the sand is really cold so keep your shoes on. i don't know if it's like that doing the summer (find out) i think the property needs more lighting. The employees was very pleasant everywhere we went so that was a plus. I do reccomend this place for couples who's looking to get away from it all but for families i'm a little hesistant because once the pool and the game room closes & it gets dark there's no other entertainment for kids so it's up to you. Also please please visit "Nene's" it's located 5mins away from resort i went there for breakfast and dinner the food and the price was so right, and this other little dinner next to Publix. I have a few minor dislikes, but overall it was a nice peaceful trip with hubby. Base on my review i have a a group of friends who's checking in in Feb for couples retreat.

Room Tip: visit Nene's restaurant, great food choices but they close around 2pm and reopen at 4 or 5pm

Another fantastic Marriott resort. Write on the beach, wonderful scenic views. Gorgeous sunsets and luxurious pools and beaches. Have to say that the hotel prices are a tad high, but what do you expect from a beach front resort.

Many folks indicate the self park lot as far away, they couldn't be more WRONG. It is right across the street from the main entrance.

Be prepared to vacation like a king, spend some $$$, but enjoy every last minute.

Room Tip: avoid the eastern facing rooms.
