“Couples stay on Adult side/Families on Main side Happiness for all.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 3, 2012

This resort is all things to all people. My husband and I visited without children the week before Thanksgiving. The staff and service were fabulous. They couldn't do enough for us - lots of hospitality from the moment we stepped out of the car. Since we were without kids we opted to pay extra to have access to the adults only section. There is a warm mineral pool, hot tub and heated pool. Hardly anyone there I'm guessing most people travel with family and therefore on the other side. Julien was so pleasant and helpful, always smiling setting up our chairs. He was able to help us order from room service so that we could get drinks and food by the pool. The Spa facility was out of this world. OMG First day we had the couples Swedish message and the next I went for warm stone and he went all out for the deep tissue. He's still talking about it. Inside the spa, they have different saunas, hot tub, cold plunge pools, relaxation rooms, quite balconies, the works. We also rented a cabana on the beach one day away from the families. Amanda took care of all our food and beverage needs. If you are traveling Adults and you stay at the main family side especially during a school break. I think you will be disappointed. Lots of kids everywhere, crowded chaise area, activities going on, strollers blocking pool deck and all the things that come along with a kids and families. Again that being said, we plan on returning with the children in April staying in the main section. They will have a blast. The only thing was that we found the food to be disappointing. They try like hell, but somehow everything was a little off. We found several very good, reasonably priced restaurants ten minute walk from resort which would also be great for families.

Room Tip: I believe higher floors have a better view most with balconies.

Just what you would expect from a World Class Marriot and a great Management Team, The ocean front views from the lounge were perfect! We took a nice walk on the beach and watch the sun go down, nice!!

Room Tip: If you have smaller kids try to get next to the pool area, they'll love it!

Visited the Marco Island Marriott in August from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This is an amazing property and the services we received were top notch. Great restaurants, great concierge to book anything you need, and the rooms were of 5 star quality. Beach is one of the best i've ever stayed on, and the water is the perfect temperature. There is also entertainment and restaurants off the resort which are an easy 5 minute walk. The only thing stopping me from giving this place 5 stars is that I find it's pretty hard to call this place a "Resort and Spa". Don't kid yourself, this is a family hotel and the pools are incredibly raucous with young children. In my opinion, the Marriott really needs to do something about this. There are two pools. An adult pool and a children's pool. Why the resort doesn't require children and families to be in the children's pool is beyond me. So in all, a great hotel, but if you are looking to relax, sleep in, etc., this is probably not the place for you. You will get hit with balls and frisbees all day pool side, and you absolutely will be woken up by every single day by crying babies and children running in the halls.

Room Tip: Try for an ocean view, but I believe most rooms have a view of the ocean from some vantage point.

First of all, let me say I'm not easy to impress. But impressed I was with the staff of this fine establishment. From the moment we drove up, we were treated as if we were the most important guests at the hotel. The valets were fantastic and extremely helpful, lifting my mother-in-law's wheelchair in and out of the trunk. It got so they anticipated our arrivals and departures. The front desk manager the evening of November 20, went out of her way to make sure we had adjoining rooms with fantastic views. Even though we requested adjoining rooms with double beds, I know better than to think this or any hotel will guarantee the request. This hotel and front desk manager honored my request. And the hotel was completely full!! The bell staff (wonderful, as well) provided us with a wheelchair we were able to keep for the entire trip, which really helped. The grounds are immaculate, the staff is over the top, and the rooms are clean and well appointed. There are plenty of activities (great spa) for all ages. As I mentioned, the hotel was full. Lots of families and lots of small children. Normally, not my cup of tea when I want to get away. However, this hotel and staff handled the crowds beautifully. A friendlier staff (i don't want to leave out the concierge and housekeeping) would be hard to find in a five star hotel. Kudos to the management. That's the way to run a hotel. We can't wait to come back.

Room Tip: South side of either tower. Higher floor.

We attended a wedding over the Thanksgiving Holiday The Marriott at Marco Island is a true performer. We had two rooms and had a great time with friends and family. The staff is very pleasant and always helpful. The hotel was packed and bustling with families and several events. There was always something going on around the resort for the kids to do. Plan on spending some money while you are there.

Room Tip: The cabanna suites are very nice. We stayed in the tower and got am upgrade to be closer to the wate...

I expect consistent quality from Marriott, and once again, you get it at this luxurious Marco Island resort. Everything was done excellently. Most important, the pool area and especially the beach lets you feel as if you are in the islands. The beach is big, white and perfect.

Check in, valet parking, bell hops were all easy. Room was high quality. All 600+ rooms (unless maybe you are on the 2nd or 3rd floor) have a balcony with a view of the gulf. We did not eat dinner here, so I can't comment on the restraurants. The coffee shop is very good.

Room Tip: Anything over the 3rd floor and you should have a balcony that can see the gulf.

I want to reiterate the comments of the other reviewers: the hotel staff here is very warm and friendly. They seem to really enjoy their jobs and it shows! Some individuals of note: the people at the spa, the captain of a catamaran we took to go on a sailing and shelling excursion, and even the Lost and Found Department! (Post-trip I discovered I had left an item at the hotel and they were incredibly helpful in helping me locating it and overnighting it home to me). In terms of dining, post-trip I still crave the Gulf Coast Cobb Salad from Quinns!
