“Beautiful Resort properety”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 26, 2011

Stayed 4 nights last week and the property is beautiful. Staff was great, rooms were great. When I made the reservations months ago, I had no idea I was making it for Easter week. That was a mistake we won't make again. The only minor issue we had was that it was 90% families, each with what seemed like a huge number of kids. And the only problem was that the advertised adult only pool was open to everyone since it was so busy. We questioned staff and they said that was the way it would be for the whole week. We did not hang by the pool much because of that, but it was not a big deal. Beautiful sunsets on the beach. It was relatively inexpensive ($18) for a beach chair/umbrella setup for two for the whole day. Even though the property was probably at capacity, service was timely. Highly recommended (we just will try to go at a little quieter time).

The hotel is great every thing you expect from a Marriott. We are still here as i write this review. What i want to tell you about is a little known secret the conceirge don't always tell you about is http://saywhatfishingcharters.com/home.htm - Say what fishing charters is run by Captain Sean Black. We have just had the best day - Out in the morning hooking Spanish Mackerall and Large Grouper. Sean filleted the fish (at end of trip) and we drove to a restaurant where they cooked the fish for a very reasonable price. Absolutely best morning of fishing ever. Sean was so experienced. Also yesterday we went out to Everglade City with Doug's Airboat tours. If Brad takes you out you are on a winner. Great fun. Love Marco Island. Get away from the Marriott and experience some of the island is all I can say.

Just back from the Marco Island Marriott for a 5 day stay with our 9 year old daughter. The hotel is beautiful. The property was very crowded, due to spring break, and the crowd grew over the time we were there. However, the Marriott was well prepared for the crowds and the energy was exciting. The staff was wonderful, especially Nick the Recreation Director. He was everywhere - handing out towels, organizing activities, talking to kids - taking care of issues, presumably and there must have been many due to the level of guests - but always with a smile on his face. He''s a gem, Marriott! The property is gorgeous and there are an army of workers keeping it that way. Interesting being out in the early am waiting for the pool to open and seeing the resort come to life. That's one of the few stressful things about the week, and probably isn't an issue on non peak times - you had to be down in the pool line by 7 in order to get chairs when the pool opened. However, they did a good job of policing the pool area, and if you were gone for more then an hour, they took the chairs. All day long, people were losing chairs and then getting other chairs when they came back - as a testimony to the Mariott employees, I didn't hear anyone getting mad as you could ask for replacement chairs once you came back and the big gentlemen supervising was so polite and reasonable (an ex cop? maybe), who could argue over a chair in Paradise, anyway?
Lots of fun activities for kids, keep an eye on the schedule because events are over quickly and we came up for several just in time to learn they were over. The laser tag on Thursday night in a ballroom was great fun, as was the sand sculpting contest. They had a rock climbing wall on the beach two days and a bungee jump that looked like big fun.
Everything at the Marriott is expensive, so prepare yourself for that and plan accordingly. We ate off site a few times, enjoyed breakfast at NeNe's, dinner at Snook Inn and another dinner at DaVinci's. Besides that, we ate poolside at Quinn's a couple of times and the food was really good, although expensive. We brought in some snacks for the room, PBJ etc and that helped when we needed something quick. We booked on points as platinum members and received a $100 resort credit and breakfast for two in lieu of the concierge suite - thanks, Mariott! We usually like to take advantage of the concierge suite for breakfast and snacks on vacation, so missed that, but appreciated the other amenities the resort provided.
Very very family friendly, would have been bummed if I came for a romantic trip as this is family central - but, travelers doing their homework won't make that mistake.

Stayed at this resort for 5 nights in April. This is a resort hotel which is beautiful. The beach front location and activities make it a pleasure. There were alot of conventions going on but it never interferrred with our stay. As a matter of fact we got to enjoy the air show that was put on by Allied insurance. The staff is very kind and helpful. Had a great time with Lisa from the pool, and Kristen at the spa was very kind! The only negative I can say , is that the cocktails are a bit expensive. We enjoyed the cafe in the morning for breakfast and dined at several area restaurants. Would highly recommend this property and will return again in the future! A must is to try Captain Rons jet ski tour which can be found on trip advisor. This was a highight for us! Go relax and enjoy the views!

Room Tip: Ocean front room is the best!!

This is a lovely resort, from the decorations to the landscaping to the wonderful water views from the room. Very courteous and attentive staff.

Our room was large and very nicely laid out and decorated. We choose a handicap accessible room so we could check in early, that's all that was available. The bathroom was nice and large. The shower should have been re-grouted in spots and needed a shelf to put the soap and shampoo. I'm not sure how a handicapped person would have handled this, was very poor thinking on the part of the designer.

This is an expensive hotel and everything in it costs even more. It makes me appreciate all inclusive resorts! The restaurants were just okay, nothing great. I would recommend going off resort to eat.

The spa was amazing! They have so many amenities you have access to if you book a treatment. Definitely take advantage of them and plan on spending a few hours there for just the amenities. Private plunge pool, hot tub, cold tub, sauna, steam room, lounge, all of it beautiful and relaxing.

Wife and I was there for 5 nights and it was a much needed escape. The hotel's location is as good as it gets. The beach is huge and you can walk forever. No need to reserves chairs but umbrellas are 18.00 per day. We are beach people, so I can only tell you the pools were packed and they need to lose the adult pool description as both pools were full of kids. The service was second to none from the valet, front desk, beach, to the housekeeping everyone was very helpful and happy. The fitness center is newer, small but nice...missing a bathroom that is close to it. Tropiks has a great breakfast buffet....not cheap but good. Spa was nice but by no means over the top, rather small. Quinn's is the only place the service was terrible, food not great and the place is a dump...dirty..hard to believe it's associated with the Marriott. The rooms are nice but I agree the doors allow noise from the hallway especially when people let the door slam but bed were comfortable, flat screen, bathrooms are a bit small but does the job. They do make you feel nickeled and dimed for wifi at 15.00 a day. This place is beautiful, great location, great weather and close to good food.... but it is not cheap and many families were there when we were,so it can be loud. We would return tomorrow.

Room Tip: Sugar goes much further than venom.

My husband and I stayed at this Resort at end of February begin of March.
We absolutely loved it. The Resort is beautiful, the staff is incredible, always friendly and helpful in any way.
The rooms are spacious and pretty. Just writing about it I want to go back.
We ate sushi several times at the sushi bar, it was very good.
Quinn's at the beach is a nice spot to have Lunch.
The last night we had Dinner at Kurrents and it was the absolute best. We had been to several upscale places on the island for dinner and wish we would have gone earlier. We consider ourself foodies, love to cook and eat out. Kurrents was incredible.

One thing we did not like is the pool situation. Both pools are gorgeous. The kids pool looks like a dream for children.
However both pools were used by kids. It would have been so much more relaxing if Management would keep the adult pool for adults only.

Thank you for your comments and valuable feedback. Our goal is to create a memorable experience and provide you with exceptional customer service. Kurrents restaurant continues to be a favorite for many guests. While our Tiki pool does offer additional features for children, currently both our pools are open to all of our guests.
